is the difference between being able to own this game or not

The game could release in January 2028 at the latest I think

that's the cutoff for disc production

it would be a slap in the face

to have fans wait 7 years between the last kh game

and to not be able to actually own the game

Square enix is aware of this

like them delaying the game would actually probably hurt its success

Square probably had their plans in place for a while but the Sony announcement has likely really focussed their targets

Yea i think Square enix are aware of the backlash from gamers of the annoucement of the death of physical games

they probably will actually keep that in mind

Tbf i dont see KH4 getting delayed

like the fact they decided to give us a release of late 2027

and the fact they hid information from us delibarely to keep hype. I think the game probably in its very late stages of development

God, I really hope so

It releasing in the 25th anniversary does seem like a no-brainer from a marketing perspective

Just hope that doesn't mean that they're rushing it out, as absurd as that sounds

like compared to kh3 development wise

they didn't have to majorly change the engine they were working on to a completely different engine

yea they had to go from Unreal engine 4 to 5

but, that's different from going from a completely different engine to unreal engine 4 with kh3

I know, I'm just reminded of companies like Sega who always had a bad habit of rushing Sonic games out on the anniversary years

I get that this is a totally different scenario, all I'm thinking is I hope that the desire to have it release in the 25th year hasn't negatively impacted the quality of the finished product

i dont think it will like how much more development does kh4 need?
