-Mental Hospital- [Roleplay]

[align=right]"Wish you could turn off the questions, turn off the voices, turn off all sound.

Yearn to close out the ugliness, close out the filthiness, close out all light.

Long to cast away yesterday, cast away memory, cast away all jeapordy.

Pray you could somehow stop uncertainty, somehow stop the loathing, somehow stop the pain.

Act on your impulse,

swallow the bottle,

cut a little deeper,

put the gun to your chest."

Dr. Mackenzie walked the halls once more, holding back tears of complete fury. Her footsteps were loud and heavy, hands still in a fist.

She slowly read over her list of patients again.

Jack Beech, room 269 was her next stop.

"The newest one," Mackenzie said to herself.

She heard from the director that he had been in other places before but they gave SunnyShore no information on him except that he had borderline.

"How am I suppose to help without knowing anything at all about him?" Mackenzie sighed. She supposed she could talk to him a bit, find out a little about his past, what he was like, ect. That was the standar procedure with newly admitted patients.

She quietly tapped on Jack Beech's door.

Even though the knock on his door was faint, Jack still jumped, flinging himself onto the bed- since his first thought was that he'd somehow been spotted stashing the pills, and that if he was blocking the access to their hiding place, they wouldn't be discovered. Then, when the inital panic faded, he pressed his back against the wall, very nearly simply for the support, because it had occured to him... it had to be a doctor out there, right? Someone about to poke intrusively into his head. Because that had to be all they wanted.

He didn't even know why they cared.

"What?" he asked, masking the fear in his voice well- but it came out sounding pissed off instead.

"H-Hello," Mackenzie stuttered, a little taken back by his tone. Slowly, she entered the room.

"I'm Mackenzie Norris and I'll be your doctor." Mackenzie couldn't help but feel bad at how robotic and rehearsed that sounded, but she was told that was how she should greet a new patient.

"I just came to learn a little bit about you. We almost have no records or information on you, so really, I'd just like to get to know you."

"It was a bad idea to come back," Lucas said to himself.

His froom was suffocating him. It was so empty...

Amu slumped against the wall, looking out her small window. She liked her room. Small as it was, there was peace. She sometimes liked to play with the echo.

"Hello~"

She stood up and walked to the door. The echo didnt last long today. Amu opened the door and walked out.

"Let's go outside~" she sang.

Azura had 'tamed' the 'tiger' and rested on it.he was actually resting on her bed.She just steared at the cieling. She thinks."Teddy, should we tell the prisoners about the new plan?"Azura asks. The teddy bear did not answered."Yeah.We should wait for a while.Until night atleast, when maybe the monters can be sleeping...if they ever sleep."Azura says. She hugs her teddy bear tightly."I love you teddy."Azura says.

Jack scowled, but shrank back further against the wall, like a cornered animal. His eyes narrowed at the word "doctor", even though he knew- of course he knew, he wasn't an idiot. He didn't comment for a while, plucking near-obsessively at a loose thread at the frayed cuffs of his sweater- an excuse to break eye contact with her.

"No information. What a surprise," he said, voice dull. "I'm really not worth knowing about. You're probably wasting your time."

His voice was quiet, a soft rasp to it from lack of use, but there was still a steel to it- a bravery he knew he didn't feel, didn't even possess.

But he'd never managed to fake being tough before. He considered that, maybe if he avoided showing weakness, no one would try anything with him- good or bad, he didn't care. He just wanted them to stop trying to change the way he was.

"Ugh!" Whitney snapped. "Ew! Why don't we just leave them all locked up in cages for eternity? Why do we have to be in the stupid prison with them?" She skirted around the few patients she ran into, practically throwing herself over the balcony in an attempt to avoid them. Rejects. She couldn't let them touch her, or, well, maybe they'd spread their.. their.. "Their SOMETHING," Whitney muttered. "I'm going to go read a magazine."

Summer, normally, would've timidly peeked her head out her door. With Jack controlling her, though, her fists were clenched, and she was stomping down the hallway. Jack sang in her mind. 'Escape! Escape! That's what we're going to do now, Summer~ You'll never have to sleep here again. Never suffer through these people. All you have to do is do what I did..' He breathed temptingly. 'Just kill all of those silly doctors. No one cares about them anyway. Just go.. it'll be easy..' Summer couldn't even force herself to protest.

"If you were going to be a waste of my time, I wouldn't be working here," Mackenzie smiled, hoping that would get him to open up. He looked as if he was ready to jump out the window to get away from her - that is the rooms had any windows. He seemed a little upset with the doctor, although Dr. Norris hadn't done anything. Of course, from what Mackenzie had observed, people don't like being told they're messed up and need help, and that was understandable.

"Come on, just talk to me," Mackenzie invited, trying to sound as warm and comforting. "You can talk about whatever you want and I'll just listen, if that's okay with you."

Lucas tapped his foot against the hard floor, the only sound echoing in his room.

He tried humming a tune, although he really didn't know any songs, so he wasn't even sure what he was humming now.

He didn't feel like leaving his room again, since he'd already seen that there was no one out and about that he could bother.

Lucas was being a nuisance even to himself, inccesantly and at an increasing speed tapping his foot and humming louder.

He was trying to drown them out, and they were speaking louder.

It was an inner war and Lucas was determined to win.

Summer took off sprinting down the seemingly endless hallway. Jack urged her on, flitting ahead, shouting, 'Come on, Summer! You're so close! You can go play in the snow, with your friends, you can see the sun again.. All you have to do is come outside with me.' Jack practically chanted all of the things she could do once she left. Once she escaped. Summer didn't feel even the slightest bit horrified when she blew by Dr. Trey and past the room Dr. Norris was in. She was home free. She just needed to find a door..

Azura just steared at the cieling. And once more had becomed bored at just taying there in her room."Come on teddy. We shall go and visit some monsters."Azura says. She picks up her teddy bear and runs outside her room. She runs around the halls, from hall to hall, she makes turns and keeps going around.Living in this hospital for 8 years. The hopital entire hospital was already burned into her memory. She looked back."No mosters following us.We're in luck!"Azura says. Then she hits someone and she falls down. She looks up to see Dr.Trey."(It's the new recruit to the monster army.)"Azura thinks.

"I'm sick of talking. The last place, they always were trying to get me to talk," Jack retorted, letting his gaze flicker briefly up to her face, before hastily dropping it again. When he bowed his head, attempting to appear fascinated by the loose part of his jumper, his hair's tangles spilled over into his eyes. Stubbornly, even though it irritated him, he didn't push it away- it, for him, mentally, put more of a barrier between them, if she couldn't see his eyes.

"Just turn a blind eye and let me get out of here."

Mackenzie had never met a patient so... uncooperative. But she wasn't going force him to talk, though it would be helpful if he said a thing or two that would benefit one of them at least. Jack didn't even make any eye contact with her. He looked at basically nothing, like he was trying to pretend the doctor wasn't there.

Mackenzie didn't want to aggravate him.

"That's okay," she tried to say as sweetly as she could. "We can talk another day. Whenever you want to, okay?"

Jack scowled, glowering down at his lap, but the effort was somewhat wasted since he couldn't aim it at the doctor without actually looking at her- and that was something he didn't feel like doing.

"...Okay," he responded after a long pause, forcing the word out before ducking his head a little further, biting at his already-half-destroyed thumbnail. When he next spoke, his tone was a lot more cautious- assessing the threat, he supposed.

Then again, some of the others had tried the nice act with him. It, if anything, made him distrust her even more- but still, slowly, begrudgingly, he added;

"You know, they push food in here if I don't go and eat. Can you... do me a favour, and tell them to cut it out? I'll eat when I feel like it."

He realised he sounded petulant, childish. But he decided he didn't care.

"Ew!" Whitney shrieked. "Oh, yuck!" She skittered back a step, away from Azura. "Do you realize you could've just ruined my shirt!? It'd get all wrinkly and.." Whitney didn't even bother finishing as she scrunched her nose. "Ugh. I wouldn't expect anyone here to understand." She turned and stomped away, heading towards her "office". "I'd as soon be out of here as any of the mentals," She muttered under her breath.

Summer couldn't run any faster, but Jack kept taunting her, drifting so far ahead he had to shout for her to hear him. "Jack, wait!" Summer screamed. Maybe he knew the way out, but she sure didn't. She shoved past other patients--all bigger than her, but all too caught up in themselves to care about a nine-year-old girl weaving between them.

Azura just sat there. She thinks. She grabs her teddy bear and looks at it for a while."Teddy, what do you think? What should I do?"Azura asks.Obviously,it did not answer. But Azura says otherwise."Teddy, that's brilliant!Earn the moster's trust, and get it to make us free!Oh Teddy, you're a genious!"Azura says hugging her teddy bear. She stands up and runs as fast as she can to reach Dr.Trey."Ms.Monster!Ms.Monster!"Azura says,She finally gets to her and starts to follow at her speed."Ms.Monster,want to play with me and teddy?"Azura asks.

The doctor felt reluctant to agreeing with Jack's wishing. They couldn't have him starving to death. But if she was to earn his trust, she would have to.

"Will do," she said, nodding. "Anything else you would like? Perhaps a roommate so you don't stay in this room by yourself?"

Mackenzie only suggested this because she needed to room Lucas with someone.

"I have one other male patient, he's about fourteen, and since you're new I think it would be nice to make a friend."

Of course, Mackenzie sounded like one of those concerned mothers who worried about her son/daughter not having friends and trying to set up play dates with the younger neighborhood kids. She hoped though he would agree. If not, she'd have to room Lucas with one of the girls, and she knew they would go crazy, well crazier, with his talking. Jack seemed calmer, and maybe he'd be able to put up with him. Hopefully.

Honest surprise flickered across Jack's face- he really hadn't thought she would have agreed to it. Still, he told himself, it had to be a trick. What kind of sweet, nice doctor would work in a place for lunatics, after all? And he couldn't rule out the possibility she was lying, either. That was it- she was just waiting to turn on him, wasn't she?!

As that particular thought process had been winding through his head, Jack had been picking, near determined, at his nails- it hurt, but he didn't even bother to react to the pain, even as blood welled up under the nail. Pain wasn't a problem- even if, here, it couldn't prove as a release for him.

When the doctor's question about his having a roomate came, he very nearly broke his nail clean off. Silently dropping his hands into his lap, he fixed his eyes on the floor, considering for a moment.

Even trying his level best, he really struggled to find much fault in it. The concerns he would have normally held toward a male roomate weren't particularly desperate, hearing this other boy was younger than him..

"...I'm not really bothered. It's too quiet in here anyway," he mumbled, so quietly he thought for a moment she may have missed it.

With great interest, Mackenzie watched Jack as he picked at his nails, seeming to be in deep thought. She wished she could read minds, but she only just barely do that, and only if she knew the person well enough and talked to them enough. That wasn't the case here. She wondered what went through the almost-adult boy.

For a second, she thought he might flat out reject the offer. He just stared at the floor.

And just barely, Mackenzie heard him mumble something that sounded like 'It's too quiet in here...' and something else. She took that as a yes.

She grinned.

"Great! Get anything you have together and tomorrow morning I'll show you your new room and introduce you to Lucas."

Feeling accomplished, the doctor left the room silently, but happily, chirping a joyful goodbye as she shut the door.

(( I'd like to thank you all for having such good posts and for putting thought into them <3 ))

Azura kept following Dr.Trey."Come and play with us,please?Me and teddy want someone else to play with, and no one else wants to play. Please Ms.Monster."I'll show you our pet tiger that's in our room."Azura insisted. She just wanted to try and get atleast a bit of trust with Dr.Trey."Please."Azura insists. She keeps following Dr.Trey and keeps asking her to play with her and her teddy bear. This was probably annoying Dr.Trey.But Azura ignored that fact.

Jack only looked up when he heard the door open, watching Mackenzie leave. Even as she was merely moving across the room, before she had even left, the tense set to his shoulders slackened, even if the quiet suspicion remained on his face.

The notion of "getting anything he had together" nearly made a smile threaten his lips, but he fought it, at least until she has left the room, the door swinging gently behind her. It wasn't as if he had any possessions- anything he might have hoped to bring with him from the previous madhouse had been left behind, forgotten in the sudden move. If he hadn't been wearing it, it hadn't arrived with him- not that he'd really treasured much beforehand, anyway.

And so, instead of anything personal, he knew he'd make sure to hide those pills about his person before the next morning- his chance for an escape. Not from just Sunnyshore, oh no. Jack wasn't naiive enough anymore to think he could simply just get out and live a happy life. Not anymore.

(( ANGST POST. >w< ))

Whitney half-fainted when the mental tugged on her coat. "Ew!" She shrieked. "Do you know how easily these things stain!?" She whined. Whitney's eyes widened as she realized what the girl was talking about. Asking her to.. to PLAY with them? Why on earth would she do that? To Whitney Trey, the most important thing in the world was checking her mailbox for the next issue of People, Star, Us, Seventeen, or any other magazine she was subscribed to. She could be highlighting her favorite outfits (though she'd never be able to afford them..) right now. Infact, she could probably have already been in her office.

If this kid hadn't slowed her down.

"Listen," Whitney snapped. She was horrified with herself. She was TALKING to one of them? Had Mackenzie gotten to her? Was being crazy a disease that could be spread as easily as pink eye? Whitney winced. If it weren't for an old, half-forgotten mental facility, she'd be in heaven. She'd be rich. She'd be able to afford all the beautiful clothes she wanted. She wouldn't just be Whitney Trey, college drop-out, but she'd be Whitney Trey, hero to all. Of course, that wasn't going to start here.

"I don't want to play with you and your creepy little toy. I can't believe I'm even talking to you. This place is so undignified. I should just keep to myself. Not even the doctors here are sane." She huffed, and stomped off down the hallway.

Azura steared at Dr.Trey walked away. She looked at her teddy bear."She won't take the bait teddy. How are we suppouse to get out if we can't get her trust teddy?"Azura asks.Obviously, the teddy bear didn't answer.Azura noded."You're right.I should keep trying."Azura says. She runs back to Dr.Trey."Please Ms.Monster!Me and teddy just want to play a game.Come on.The other monsters around here always seem to be busy."Azura says. She keeps following Dr.Trey to her office. She grabbed her coat and gripped it tightly."Please? We can play anything you want.We can even look for the treasure."Azura asks.

Mackenzie's footsteps led her to the next room. Amu Force, room 241.

She was careful to knock before entering the room as she always was.

"Hello Amu, it's me Dr. Norris," she greeted, expecting the girl's warm greeting. That's if she was in a good mood. Of course, her anger was sudden, and it sometimes happened in the middle of a session or after, but rarely before.

Mackenzie knew this patient well, but not completely. She was admitted just days after she started working. She was her long term patient and was a really sweet girl at first. It was hard for Mackenzie to believe that she had dementia. She slowly saw the symptons though, over months and months, but still, it was quite a shock to Dr. Norris.

She entered the room, expecting the 15 year old girl to be there looking up at her, but she wasn't.

"I guess she went out..."

The doctor sighed. Now she would have to go look for her. This would put her behind schedule if she didn't find her soon.

She silently shut the door and began searching for Amu Force.

"Please!"Azura says.Dr.Trey entered her office and closed the door.Azura looked at her teddy bear."Well, that plan didn't worked."Azura says. She stears at the teddy bear."Yeah.You're right. We just need to convince her into trusting us and then when we get enough trust,we'll get out of here and return home. With mommy and daddy."Azura says. She looks at her teddy bear."Well, the monsters aren't that bad.But they're the worst when they brinng that venom to us at times."Azura says.'Venom' was as she saw the medicine that the doctors sometimes had to bring to her in teh earlier years.

Amu walked around the hallways with a blank look on her face. She was happy on the inside though, not hearing anything. Silence was her only love. It made her happy. Whenever she heard a sound that didnt please her, she always let out her devilish grin and murderous eyes. The same ones she wore on the night of the "accident"...
