We are all fans of the Kingdom here and lets face it, What do we want to see most? KH3 right? I know I do. And it seems to be getting close to that time(hopefully), because I just saw a trailer about FF13 Versus that blew my mind. I uploaded it to my youtube page (and posted it below) and found myself asking one question. Will KH3 look similar to this in graphics and game-play?

That will be epic, considering Sora looks no way near how he looks in CGI to in-game. He had more of an "Asian boy Anime" look to him during CGI. But I guess it is a ps2 game so I will cut it some slack, since in FFX Tidus looked more Asian and then his look was altered when he was put in Dissidia. Which Sora should of been in!!!

 

Moving on, I also had a question pop up saying that " It seems Nomura will like a more..realistic/violent approach to a game that he is more involve in (FF) to get away from that sort of..."mild cartoon mischief" we all come to love about the Kingdom. So What I want to know is, which one you think will turn out better, in terms of graphics, game-play (Even though they are suppose to be similar but KH might play faster), reviews, purchases? I know its early and I'm asking alot, but re:coded is about to be here and I'm about the go back to frickin Wonderland again. And no not a Tim Burton, Johnny Depp sequel neither, but the one I went to for over two games.

Here's the ending to KH2. The in-game graphics for KH3 I hope will look the same or incredibly close to this. Yeah and this also proves my point that Sora's in-game look, looks nothing close to his CGI (My opinion but feel free to argue with me if you want). Sorry I had to get the video from a walk-through, because it was the only one in good quality and had in-game graphics.

Honestly, I hope Versus will be better than Kingdom Hearts. And with the wait so far, I bet some FF fans will be stoked when they finally announce that release date.

 

As for comparison, it all depends what system KHIII will be on, although I get the feeling it'll be on next gen (PS3, Xbox 360).

 

But to tell you the truth, I can't picture playing an entire KH game in CG graphics. It would just look weird.

Probably ff13 Verus will be better than kh3, in the graphics department. I mean Square can't do much about an hd kingdom hearts game because the only movies Disney has made into hd is the 3d movies. Not the hand drawn movies that Nourma uses.(Snow white, Sleeping Beauty) Now if he uses toy story, or christmas carol, he will be able to do alot more with the graphics. But I think Kingdom Hearts 3 will be better in the story.

Well... I like the graphics on FF13 versus but. I can't see KH being like that. I mean I like how it's cartoonish. Because all of the Disney characters in the game are cartoonish-except for Tron- though in a way he is cartoonish. So I can't see the Disney characters being in CG: I hope that they keep KH3 cartoonish hut they improve on graphics for cartoonish.. Get what I'm saying??

Personally, I think a style like Sonic Unleashed or something would fit HD KH.

i would be happy if they could do the graphics like the ending scene in KH2 when sora and riku return to destiny island. whether that'll actually happen or not, idk. but that's personally how i would like it.

Yeah, Disney characters would not look right at all if KH got all CGI graphics. I like KH's current graphics, and I hope they keep the same style for KH3, but more of an HD version of that same style.

Just a higher quality version of the usual graphics kthx. Meaning, higher poly models, so there won't be any out of place pixels or polys (Aqua had this problem a lot with her shoulders), and no more annoying flat emotionless faces. I'm not asking for CG though.

 

But seriously, why are so many people worried about Versus affecting KH3 in a negative way lately? It's not going to be a problem.

I believe Nomura said that Versus will be the last FF game he'll work on/take a big part in and then he'll concentrate solely on KH. But either way, aside from being the director/character designer of Versus, he's also the creator of KH. KH is his baby; he's not going to abandon it.

 

Also, behind Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts is SE's third most popular franchise.

Frankly, I don't care which one will be better, because I'll be getting BOTH. When I first played FF XIII, I was amazed at the graphics. I wondered how KH would look in such a quality. Then I imaged how Disney characters would look. O.o I'm sure they'd look awesome, but I need to see a render of one of them first. Versus XIII looks promising, and as I think I've said in some other forum, it's SO shiny! And the similar battle system and music makes it even better!

That's pretty much how Nomura wanted his games from the start, to tell you the truth. I mean, you should've known that since most of the FF games and movie involve some cursing and blood. In KH, that doesn't happen since SE made a deal with Disney to begin with. So, like I said on another thread, graphics don't always make a game great, just look at CoD (sorry to piss all you CoD fans out there), that game has good graphics but isn't really all that great since it's just all about meaningless shooting and whatnot. So, I don't judge a game just because of the awesome graphics it has, I judge a game depending on how the story is and how good the gameplay is as well.

The graphics aren't great because so much stuff has to go on at once, and they tend o not use graphical cheats like Square does (They're pretty much the masters of that)
