Whats going on with the Media???

Posted

seriously!

these days the good old cartoon media channels have changed completely. and i mean changed for the worst

Cartoon network

Nickelodeon

Disney Channel

4 Kids TV (even though it sucked to begin with)

they bacicly said F** this and took out the good old shows we know and love and replaced it with crap!

Heres a example:

I remember when i was little i would love to stay up all night and wacth Toonami on Cartoon Network. They removed it and pissed me off. They replaced it with crap like MAD and The Regular Shows. Cartoon Network used to show only Cartoons (hence the name Cartoon Network) now they show live action shows like Dude What Would Happen?! and other crap. Same thing with Disney. All day everyday Mickey Mouse and friends. Now its Hannah Montana, Salena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and other people. and the thing is, they do something bad!

Hannah Montanah: striped on a stripper pole at teen choice awards, smoke pot, dress in super tight short clothes

Demi Lovato: Cuts herself got into rehab

Vanessa Hudgens: posted nude pics online.

i mean what is going on with the media

and let me not mentioned 4 Kids

they took the good original Japanese Anime shows and changed it around completely and they don't even get the right to finish the series!

and we got people making fun of games just because theres no blood in it. Heres the basic rule: Not Mario, No Blood, It sucks

Kingdom Hearts was ridiculed when its a perfect work of art. The music the story everything. and Pokemon too. There is people who rate it who give it a bad overall and review because "Its a baby game" like come on.

whats wrong with the media these days? I don't even know.

its horrible but its all i watch mads actually really funny but some of the shows (nearly all) are horrible and stupid i miss the powerpuff girls and those old micky mouse cartoons.. its all still there just late late late so you have to dvr or on boomerang=p

Nickelodeon used to be gold. Kenan and Kel,

Who loves orange soda?!

Anyway I do not think all modern day stuff on those kids channels is bad, Zack and Cody is kind of funny(ish) on Disney and Phineas and Furb is good in small doses too IMO. Though I do not really watch cartoons in general any more. But they have to get rid of them eventually, sure I used to watch Johnny Bravo as a kid, but I would never watch it now so really am not too bothered if it is not on any more... And then my kids will grow up loving whatever it is that is on at their time, and when they are older will moan that show is no longer on TV. Interesting how that works.

So yeah kind of indifferent on it really, yes the shows that have replaces our childhood favourites suck, but it is because you are not supposed to enjoy them, you are no longer their target audience, try watching something actually targeted at people your age or personality.

nickelodean and disney both suck, cn is okay other than cnreal. am i the only one that notices that dude what would happen is a watered-down rip-off of mythbusters?

No, no you are not.

I have pretty much given up on cartoons. The only ones I find worth watching are Phineas & Ferb, Penguins of Madagascar, first few seasons of Pokemon, some Spongebob episodes, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. I don't like any of the live action shows on CN, and can only stand Wizards of Waverly Place and Zack & Cody on Disney. iCarly is tolerable. Thank goodness for shows like NCIS and Mythbusters.

I agree on video games. I am tired of people dissing games because of lack of blood, gore, x rated content, or guns. I don't care what you say, Pokemon can be just as "hardcore" as Call of Duty; maybe even more so if you go for perfect IVs, breed for shiny pokemon and natures, EV train, try to RNG, and get into competitive play. Just because Kingdom Hearts has *gasps* Disney characters doesn't mean it needs to be destroyed and its fans exiled. Just because you prefer, for example, Nintendo over Sony or Sony over Microsoft for gaming consoles, doesn't mean you are a "fanboy".

Anyway, yeah I agree that media is going down hill. But there is one thing above all else that disgusts me about media today. The ungodly amounts of advertisements. In a half hour block on TV, the actual show could be between 22-25 minutes, meaning you see 5-8 minutes of commercials. Signs and bill boards advertise everywhere in cities and towns. And the internet is plagued by adds and spam mail. That is what I hate most about media today, and yes I realize advertising is what makes money, but the amount that we have is unbearable.

i think something needs to stop advertising. either t.v or the internet, because i was watching some youtube videos yesterday and eventually noticed that i kept having to watch the same add over and over, and it was an add about adds.
