Somewhere Only We Know | KH Tribute

I know this has been everywhere lately, but I thought the song fit for a nostalgia trip. Also, ignore that one clip that I forgot to crop, it’s a wip so shuddup.

Despite that it's Glee and Darren Criss (because honestly I'm not a fan of his voice), it’s really fun to edit to. I didn’t want to do a romance video, more like using the song as a way to connect all the Kingdom Hearts games.

Since this is a beta I plan on finishing it, I just wanted some peoples’ opinions on what I had so far first. Possibly anything to change (minus the one clip I forgot to crop, I’m on it already) or add. I’m unsure if I should mess with the colors a bit when I’m done or just leave it as is. I know I didn't use a lot of effects, but I really didn't want to go spam effects. I thought it looked better that way. :/

Video information:

Song: Somewhere Only We Know

Artist: Darren Criss with Warblers as backup

Clips: Kingdom Hearts, KH2, Birth by Sleep

(gah, no fair. D: -was just about to make an AMV with this song-)

I actually really like how you didn't use a lot of effects; it makes the video look at lot cleaner and the song isn't really an effect-y song anyways. You should definitely finish. .w.

(Buh, I'm sorry, I read your mind and decided to steal the idea. Mah bad. :'D)

But like, I'm trying to finish the video, however a problem has come up. Like, you know the little window that pops up when you need to pan or crop something? Whenever I try to open that little window, it doesn't pop up. I've tried resetting Vegas, and I've tried changing my screen resolution and trying to find it. None of those worked. Dx

I can't really finish the video until I can get the window again because I hate having the clips different screen sizes x.x

Has this ever happened to you? D:

My effect window used to do that all the time. It's aggravating adfkfj

Try looking at those little pull-out thingys next to the video (like the ones for Mixers http://store02.prostores.com/samplebytescomputers/catalog/vegas.jpg ). It might be hiding there somewhere. Check the tabs (Trimmer, Project Media, etc.) too if you still can't find it.

Checked. Still can't find it. DX

Whyyy must my family be hated by technology?

Edit: LOL NEVERMIND I FOUND IT. IT WAS HIDING UNDER MY TASKBAR.

I finished it!

I really don't have much to say about it, except I really like the texture I put on it.

What does everyone else think about it? wouldlovesomefeedback.

Sorry, but I didn't enjoy that video. Songs like that you really need perhaps, dare I say it a pairing? Or a theme.

It's just one of those songs you have to have something like that.

It's fine you didn't enjoy it, and I'm glad that you told me.

I didn't really edit it for a certain reason, so I wasn't really keeping a theme or pairing in mind. Normally I would've, but I feel like I've been doing too much of that lately. I just chose a song and started editing with random clips. It was fun and I just went with it, even if it was an artist I don't really like (kind of sad now that I'm done with it though D8). I was just editing for the sake of it. If you're not the kind of person that likes those kind of videos then that's just fine. C:

I just think that sometimes people should edit for the sake of editing, not for a specific theme or couple. To me it's kind of stress relieving. o3o

No. I'm not saying I don't like videos like that. It's just that song really needs a theme or pairing.

You need a more open mind and be open to more creativity then.

It doesn't have to be distinctly clear like "this is the pairing that's in the video obvious editing is obvious", but it depends on how you interpret the video. While some might find it to be simple with no distinct pairing or theme, others can see it as a multiple pairing video. For instance, there are moments where I can interpret TAV, SoRiku, or even SoKai. TAV could be in hopes to be together again after all that's happen, SoKai could be Kairi hoping for Sora to come home and Sora hoping that he could see Kairi's face again. Sora and Riku could be searching together hoping to find a way home to Kairi. Or it could be something completely different depending on the person. It's all about how you interpret it.

& also there are some badass videos that don't even have to have a reoccurring pairing or theme to be decreed as "good." But if it's not your cup of tea that's fine.
