Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep theory

Posted

Ok. Since there were so many people before me who submitted theories (i disagree with most of them), I am going to keep this one short. Also, if you're a true kingdom hearts fan, you probably remember all the cutscenes and storylines (probably more than I do), so I'm not going to waste space by submitting links. I will only make references to them.

ANYWAYS, here's what I think. I believe Terra is going to become what we knew as Xehanort/fake-Ansem in Kingdom hearts 1 and 2. The reason why I thought of this to begin with is because there is no striking physical similarity between the Xehanort in Birth by Sleep and the Xehanort in the previous two games (the new Xehanort is just too old and bald, don't you think?).

Also, the game trailer for Birth by Sleep has stressed a future where Terra succumbs to the darkness. There also seems to be several scenes in the trailer where Terra works with Maleficent in working for some goal we don't know for sure yet. All I can conclude is that they were searching for princesses of heart/those with hearts of pure light. If we accept that Terra turning to darkness had created the Xehanort we know, we can hypothesize that this had been the foundation for Xehanort's heartless's goal in collecting them in the first kingdom hearts game.

Remember the cutscene from KH2 final mix, where Xehanort's nobody enters an underground chamber where a destroyed armor was lain. He called her a friend, and that armor clearly belonged to Aqua. It makes sense for Xehanort's nobody to call her that if this Xehanort really was Terra before he succumbed to the darkness.

Then go back to KH2 and KH 358/2 days cutscenes where Xehanort-nobody and Roxas are together in the world of darkness on the beach. I don't know about you guys, but it just felt like Xehanort was a bit fond of Roxas. If you remember, you can see that Xehanort had placed his hand on Roxas's shoulder. Clearly an act of affection! If this actually is true, this would also explain things in favor of Xehanort-nobody=Terra theory since Roxas looked exactly like Ventus.

I know that there's one major flaw, that Xehanort's heartless and his nobody didn't use the keyblade. However, we do see in the trailer in Birth by sleep where Master Xehanort says that those who submit to darkness do not deserve to wield the keyblade. Although Xehanort and his apprentice are shown to be capable of using keyblades in the trailer, may be the actual game could explain how Terra (if he is the pseudo-Xehanort as I theorize) lost his keyblade. May be Master Xehanort took it away from Terra? I dunno. Or may be, if Terra ultimately kills/betrays Aqua and/or Ventus (explaining how Ventus and Aqua are never in the future games), he fell into so much guilt that he didn't want to use his weapon, a tool that he swore to use to protect his friends, ever again.

What'cha think?

is that cutscene where its roxas on the dark shore after the opening credits on KH2, thats not Xehanort, its Xemnas

Xehanort's nobody = Xemnas...

I like your theory :D

It makes sense & I liked how you worded it.

Some things are yet to be unanswered, but, hey, it can't hurt to make up theories xD.

This theroy makes sense. It has been confirmed that Terra is working with other Disney Villians like the Evil Queen from Snow White and Captain Hook. I think Terra is connected to Xehanort, and Ven is connected to Sora.
