So for those of you waiting anxiously for Assassin's Creed 3 to hit.... it's not here yet. But in the meantime, you can get some more AC goodness with Assassin's Creed: Revelations, coming out later this year.
Well, what do we know about Revelations? We will be playing as Desmond, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, AND Altair Ibn-La'Ahad in this game. (SPOILER territory may be crossed here) After the events of Brotherhood, Desmond has been put in the Animus to keep him alive. His mind, however, has been pretty much broken, so he is trapped in a safe-room in the Animus called 'The Black Room'. To reconstruct his mind, Desmond once again enters the footsteps of Italian playboy / Grand Master assassin, Ezio. Now in his 50s, Ezio travels to Masyaf (the 'HUB' city of AC1), to learn more about Altair. He then finds an artifact that requires 5 seals to open it. Ezio then goes to Constantinople, where - surprise - Templars are causing some trouble. Ezio must deal with these Templars, find the seals containing Altair's memories, and learn the truth behind his destiny.
A new weapon called the Hookblade was introduced. Since Ezio is probably in his mid-to-late 50s, climbing and freerunning aren't going to be as easy anymore. That's where the hookblade comes in, allowing him to climb faster and use ziplines around the city. He can also make bombs, and there are over 300 different combinations. Eagle Vision will be getting a slight upgrade, and the multiplayer from Brotherhood will be making a return. This will also be the last chapter of Ezio's story.
I personally thought Ezio's story was done with Brotherhood. Now, I like the guy, he's my favourite protagonist out of the 3 main guys in the series, since he has something one is missing, and the other doesn't have enough of: development. But I would like him to have a chance to rest, and end his life in peace, not fighting. Then again, maybe that just means Ubisoft has done an amazing job of creating a protagonist you genuinly care about, and I should applaud them.
Now, this trailer really doesn't show a whole lot about the game. The graphics look nice, but it's really just a bunch of quick scenes from the game, many that probably are pre-rendered, with a narraration by Ezio.
And yet, it got me pretty damn hyped for this game.
THIS is exactly what a trailer should be: it doesn't reveal too much about the game, but it gets you interested and hyped for its release. I love this trailer, and I can't wait for Revelations.
So what do you guys think. Do you like AC? Have you seen the trailer, and if so, did you like it? Are you excited for Revelations, and why or why not? Let me know.
