This is a 1x1 based on ffxiii. We will start at the beqininq of our story which is were the civilians are boardinq the train to be purqed.

 

"Alriqht, keep movinq!" The soldier yelled out to the line. Airra stood there hooded and keepinq quiet. She kept her winqs tucked into her cloak and qot to the soldier. They inspected her then motioned her onto the train. Airra boarded and sat in a chair. ("Gettinq purqed wasnt the plan! Uqh! How could i mees up!") She thouqht as she clenched her fists.

The ship went in low for a landing. Sarmen could see hatches open for soldiers to drop down from.

"Time to go to work." he said to himself.

He carefully lined up his shot, making sure to hit the ship to where it would veer away from Airra and Fang. He locked in on his target and fired the rocket. Pausing a second to make sure the rocket was flying true, Sarmen dropped the empty launcher and ran toward the girl's position, while reattaching his helmet. He smiled grimly as he heard and felt the ship explode. He redubled his speed. It was possible that some PSICOM soldiers had gotten off before the ship was hit. Airra and Fang could handle themselves, but that didn't mean Sarmen could take it easy getting to them.

Airra gasped at Fangs answer. She then saw PSICOM Soldiers approach them. They both picked up there weapons and started to attack the soldiers. They looked around them to see soldiers all around them.

"Damn!" Fang yelled.

"Lower your weapons!" The soldiers yelled at them. Airra and Fang sighed. They threw down there weapons and put their hands up.

"Woah! Look at this one boys!" A soldier said from behind Airra. He grasped her wings and started to inspect.

"Stop that!" Airra yelled as she turned. When she turned, the soldier hit her in the jaw with his gun. Airra nelt to the ground. She touched her face to see it bleeding. The soldiers laughed.

"Were gonna have to do something about this l'cie angel thing" the soldiers said.

"Tie them up!" The soldiers demanded as some nrought out chains.

Sarmen caught a glimpse of what was happening with Airra and Fang. Snarling, he pushed himself to move faster. He detoured of the winding path that would have led him to Airra's and Fang's hiding spot to go over a little hill he could jump from. Surprise was his best bet. The PSICOM soldiers knew someone else was around, so a simple sneak attack wouldn't work. His best bet was 'Shock and Awe.'

As he crest the hill, he coiled his legs and jumped, activating his gravity device. He sailed through the air towards the soldiers, bellowing a blood curtailing scream. The soldiers were to stunned to react to this new threat before Sarmen had already slammed into two of them, stabbing his wrist blades into their chests. Pulling the blades out, Sarmen reacted fast enough to parry a few blows. A soldier with a rifle lined up a shot on Sarmen. New instincts took over as Sarmen threw out a hand, magic corsing through his arm, ending in a Ruin spell. The gunman took the Ruin bolt to the face and staggered back.

"Move!" Sarmen yelled to the girls as he tried to buy them more time.

Fang heard Sarnens cry for them to move, she had no other thing to do but grap Airra by the arm and start running. Half of the soldiers stayed fighting off Sarmen and the others came after Airra and Fang.

"Fang! What do they want with us?!" Airra yelled as she kept running.

"I dont know Airra! Why ask that right now?!" Fang replied speeding up.

"Sorry!" Airra yelled as she looked back at the soldier to see them pulling out there weapons and summoning more soldiers.

"Airra, this may be a stupid remark or something but, Why dont you fly!!" Fang said as she panted. Airra laughed nervously.

"About that, i dont think i can fly.." She said as she smiled sweetly. Fang started to become enraged then she saw a helicopter pull in.

"Damn!" Fang said unaware of who was aboad. The girls and the soldiers stopped in their tracks and watch the helicopter come down. Fang looked at the helicopter contently.

"Its snow!"

Sarmen rocked back as a soldier took a swipe at him. He dodged and took a slice out of the man's leg. He jumped back and took stock of the situation. Fang and Airra seemed to be making a clear get away. If he could buy them a little more time, they should be fine. There was still about six of them left. Not good odds, but l'Cie couldn't be too choosy about their fights. Sarmen dived back at the soldiers, his weapons flashing dangerously. He managed to wound a few before his senses registered a helicopter. He speared a moment to look up. It looked like one the Calvary used for covert mission. A large man with blond hair looked to be preparing to jump out. It took Sarmen a moment to recognize this man to be one of the people fighting against PSICOM during the Purge. The big man jumped out of the copter and landed a few feet from Sarmen.

Fang and Airra watched as Snow departed from the plane. "Airra! Lets move before-" Fang didnt finish, for she saw that Airra was getting chained. Fang pulled out her speared lance and then found herself in a mound of chains. "Shoot the plane down!" A soldier yelled from behind. "We cant l'cie stay here, they must be imprisond. Except for the winged one, she would go good on display. Now take 'em in!" The man ordered the soldiers. "Airra! Summon an eidolon!" Fang yelled. "a what?! I dont think i have one!"

The big guy joined in with Sarmen in his fight.

"Hey, you Sarmen?" the big man asked as he slammed his fist into a soldier's face.

"That's me." Sarmen answered, blocking an attack. "You from Raines?"

"Yep." the man said with a smile. "Names Snow. I work with Fang."

Sarmen nodded.

"Once we're finished with these guys, we'll regroup with her."

Snow laughed.

"Then let's teach these boys a lesson."

Sarmen and Snow moved with practiced ease as they began to tear the PSICOM soldiers apart.

(Ralin? Im confused )

"Airra! How do you not have one!" Fang retorted. Airra shrugged as the soldiers urged them on. Fang thought for a moment. She then shook off the thought and kept walkingg, with the soldiers gun pointing to their backs. "Keep ealking or... or we will shoot !" Soldiers warned them.

(Sorry. A different characters name popped in my head. I'll fix it.)

 

Sarmen and Snow made quick work of the rest of the soldiers in their immediate vicinity.

"Nice work." Snow commented, nodding appreciatively.

"I'll agree with that once we are all away." Sarmen replied. "Let's find Fang and Airra."

Sarmen and Snow ran down the way Fang and Airra had gone. They both came up short when they saw the situation.

"Plan?" Sarmen breathed.

"Charge in, save our friends." Snow answered. "You know, the hero thing."

Sarmen chuckled. Being a hero was more complicated than that in his mind, but boiled down to basics, that was as good as it got.

"Let's do this." Sarmen said.

Both l'Cie charged forward, yelling loudly to get the PSICOM soldier's attention.

Airra scoffed. "Cowards." She said as she closed her eyes. She then felt something cold against her skin. "What did you say?" A soldier asked as he pressed the gun into her skin. "Airra stop messing around. They'll kill you." She said as the soldiers turned around. Airra saw Sarmen and Snow approaching. The soldiers seperated. Some stayed with Airra and Fang and the rest charged to the others. "Summon helicopters planes anything now!" Soldiers yelled all around.

"Snow!" Sarmen yelled. "Cover me!"

"You got it!" Snow answered.

Snow picked up speed and engaged the PSICOM soldiers, throwing them this way and that. Sarmen vaulted over the melee and continued towards were Fang and Airra are being held.

"Down!" He yelled, casting several Ruin spells at their guards.

The soldiers panicked. They grabbed guns hurridley.

"L'cie! Stand down or well....well shoot !" A soldier said hesitantly pointing the guns to airra and fang. Fang sighed. Airra scoffed the soldier pointed the gun to her neck. "You are cowards you know that? Your afraid of you own kind. A human." Airra said. Fang looked at airra and ahook her head. "Airra shut up!" Fang yelled as they turned to see Sarmen and snow running in.

Sarmen's Ruin spells hit several of the Soldiers and he moved in close enough to get them to move defensively to keep from getting stabbed. Anger simmered beneath Sarmen's calculated strikes. These people were not soldiers. They were murderers and idiots, deserving justice, something Sarmen was willing to give them. The remaining PSICOM soldiers drew back from Sarmen, keep weapons on him and their prisoners. Snow walked up beside Sarmen, wiping off his hands.

"I'm giving you this chance to surrender." Sarmen said firmly, him and Snow taking up positions to act upon a negative answer.

Fang eyes widened. "Are you stupid?! They will shoot you!" Fang said as a shoulder pushed her back and placed tighter cuffs on her. Airra stood there silently. She looked at the soldiers reaction, they were frightened on what the two would do.

Sarmen smiled a smile that would have frightened the soldiers more.

"Snow." He said.

"Yeah?" Snow answered.

"Give me some cover will you?"

Snow smiled.

"Oh, yeah." The big man said.

He shrugged and moved a step closer to the PSICOM soldiers. Most of the soldiers acted as one as the opened up on Snow. Fast then the soldiers, Snow used his l'Cie magic to protect himself from the bullets. Sarmen jumped over Snow and landed in the middle of the soldiers. With graceful, almost dance like movements, Sarmen carved up three soldiers. He flipped forward, bringing his one of his wrist devices down to cut through Fang's cuffs. With one captive freed, Sarmen moved to help Airra.

Fang ran behind Snow and stayed behind him for protection. Sirens were going off and soldiers panicked. Sarmen rushed to Airras help. Fang watched from behind Snow to make sure he got her out safely Fang cared for Airra now that she got to know more about her.

Snow moved slightly to kick a spear to Fang.

"You ready, partner?" He asked.

Sarmen charged through PSICOM soldiers to Airra, quickly slahing through her restraints.

"Nice to see you again." He said, try to sound as clam as possible. "Let's get out of here."

Airra smiled.

"About time." She said as the cuffs came off her wrists. She grabbed her gunblade from a fallen soldier and and unfolded it. Fang hugged Airra and picked up her spear. "Now lets get going before something bad happens." fang said as she grabbed airras arm.

Sarmen followed behind Airra and Fang. He stopped and tapped Snow on the shoulder.

"Time to move, big man." he called.

Snow nodded and turned to run with the others.

"We need to move a little ways away from the these guys before we can get pick up." Sarmen told his companions.

(rikunobodyxiii i was thinking about a twist like how about have Airra be like Sarmens summon or something/ like that was their focus since like the title is "Be my gaurdian angel" ? just an idea. I feel like i made no sense )

 

"Alrighty!" Fang said practically dragging Airra behind her. Fang was a bit dissapointed in Airra after she found out that Airra couldnt summon anything. 'Maybe she just hasnt learned yet. Well ill teach her once we get back.' Fang said as she made sure no soldiers were around to battle them off. Fang finally let go of Airra. Airra rubbed her wrist as if hurt from Fangs grip. She looked behind her to see Sarmen and Snow coming up behind them chatting.

(huh, that could be really cool. And...what if we are both each others summon? When Sarmen uses his summoning ability, Airra transform into something, and the same when Airra uses it. If you don't like that idea, that's fine. Either way, I'm good with going with your idea.)

 

"So, you got tagged trying to save your fiancé?" Sarmen asked Snow.

Snow nodded his head, gravely.

"Yeah." He said. "She told me my focus was to protect Cocoon. And I'm going to do it."

Snow was smiling, confident in what he was saying. Sarmen wasn't too sure that a Pulse fal'Cie would give that kind of focus to somebody, but it seemed to keep Snow's hope up, so it was better not to try to poke holes. Sarmen secretly hoped Snow was right.

Sarmen and Snow caught up with Fang and Airra.

"Alright, hold up a sec." Sarmen said. "Let's have a quick medic check. Anybody got any injuries?"

( Thats awesome. we should do that )

 

Fang looked at Sarmen.

"I'm good." She said as she approached Airra. She grabbed at Airra's hands and inspected her.

"Airra's alright too." Fang announced as she put her hands on her hips. Something isnt right about Airra. Fangs eyes then widened. Her mark, where is it? Fang frantically looked up and down Airra and looked for the L'cie brand.

"Airra. This is an odd question but what did you do to your brand?" Fang asked.

"What do you mean?" Airra answered quickly looked at her arms then flapping her wings. Fang then saw the brand on her shoulder. Fang sighed in relief, she was glad it hadnt grown any arrows.

"Your good. You wont be becoming a cieth anytime soon." Fang said as she looked at Airra wings with interest.

"Is that a crystal on your wing? Well a mark of a crystal? I haven't seen that one, is that your crystal Airra.?" Fang asked as Airra straned to look at her wings.

"No it isnt. Whos is it?" Airra asked as Fang shrugged and faced the others.

(Cool.)

 

Sarmen came closer to Airra to get a look at what Fang was talking about. He took off his helmet and looked.

"What is that?" He asked. "I've hear a little about crystals and l'Cie, but not enough. What does a l'Cie having a crystal mean?"

Fang looked at Sarmen.

"I guess you can say that crystals give a l'cie the ability to summon an eidolon. An eidolon helps them in battle. The eidolon and l'cie share the crystal." Fang said.

"But Airra has no eidolon, i bet you do, but we'll see." Fang said as she looked at the mark on Airras wing.

"This is very strange." Fang said outloud.

Snow nodded.

"Fang's right, though you only seem to get a crystal after you fight the eidolon." Snow said.

He held up the Shiva Sister's crystal.

"Two of them popped up and started a fight with me. Once I beat them, they did as I said and come when I call."

Sarmen nodded.

"Okay. So Airra has a mark, so she should have a crystal, but nothing has popped up to attack her, right?"

He started to pat himself down to make sure he didn't have a crystal in his pocket.
