So if the bill passes, a trade war may happen, and we americans will need to get MADE IN USA stuff .__. thoughts?

this bill should have happened a while ago. i agree with most of the people who commented on it. we need to cut ties with China, open American factories up again, make our own goods and maybe then we'll get back on track.

Only problem is that prices will go up, plus the US has mastered AI better than any other country. We already have robots assembling cars and the like. Robots don't need food, money, or sleep all while working more efficiently.

 

China needs us a lot more than we need them. There is nobody else willing to trade with them on the scale we once did. Their economy will go down the drain, past the sewer and into the pacific.

Robots can only do factory task at the moment and we are still a few decades away from having them do EVERYTHING.

At least it won't be like WALL-E.

 

Where we have to depend on robots to clean up trash, give us hair-cuts, clean, babysit, walk the dog, perform surgery on dying people...

 

At least give americans factory jobs.... Maybe we can finally get back on our feet and stop the budget cuts from the schools.

We need to re-build America with American people. This robot stuff has to stop. Sure, it's convenient, helpful and even necessary with some things, but my God we're letting it run our Country. It's a little ridiculous now. I think we need a little bit of that old fashioned work-ethic, get those American factories up and running again and have the American people actually work and do jobs.

 

At this rate if we keep letting robots run everything, everyone will be jobless and homeless.

 

And they do have robots that perform surgeries now lol I just hope it doesn't get too popular. God forbid it goes hay-wire while opening someone's chest or stomach... ew

But making the robot's will always be open because newer ones need to be made. We aren't going to get AI robot's or anything smarter than us for like never so there will always be jobs we just need to get more openings in the jobs we do give.

Think about how organized the world would be if we could use 1 region for factories, one for farming, one for computers and and video games, etc., without dealing with all these wars and stuff, or having factories in every country because of trading issues, and if we had a world government, the entire world would have the same economy, and with all that money, we might finally be able to start building a mini-mall on the moon.

But that would also be a problem with different religions and other aspects of life. It wouldn't work. Personally I have to say that the U.S.A is better off than a few other countries in certain aspects of our life, jobs, and what we can do.

The only problem with robots is if they become self aware, which means they think they are alive. Other than that robots are just slaves without emotions. And there will be even more jobs now as people will have to upkeep and program these robots.

Having one area for farming is a great way to starve the earth. Every region has moments where it doesn't yield a lot of crops.

 

It's very easy to convert currency today. Trading isn't a problem. I could turn all the money in my bank account to Yen and then back to American Dollars without any issues.

 

Plus if the entire world is around one economy, what happens when there is a crash? That firetrucks the entire world over.

 

And we don't need a mall on the moon. The moon doesn't have that much stuff to be worth building anything more than mining installations on.

I think that might be a valid point, but an economy crash with a world government is just as likely as one economy crashing right now, thus causing all other economies to crash, which would have the same effect.

We would still wouldn't be completely unified, I doubt that every country would agree to switch to a single form of government, so there would still be separate countries, just with the same currency and some global laws.

Europeans too. I live in Holland, which used to be so proud of their openmindedness towards other people/cultures. Now we're known for politicians who inspire terrorists such as the Norwegian guy who killed dozens of people out of hate for 'foreigners'.

Just realized I went kinda offtopic. But yeah, the whole hate towards foreigners that exists here now ("they took our jobs") also stems from the fact that back in the '60s cheap labor forces were imported to Europe to do all the dirty work.
