Yeah I couldn't figure out what forum this should be posted it, so I posted it here. Anyways, this is a fangame my friend and I are working on. It takes place in the Shinto region, a region directly north of Johto. Not revealing any major plot details at the moment, but the plot will be good I can tell you that much. You will be facing "Team Hypnos", a team with an unknown agenda. I hope I can release a beta/demo by the end of next month.

Nah we're not using that kind of game engine, we are literally modifying Pokemon Fire Red version and making it completely custom, sprites and all. The only thing that won't really change is the Pokemon, and we are debating whether or not we should go for Gens I-III or Gens I-V

You should use Hoenn and the Sevii Islands for inspiration, I believe they have some of the most fun areas to explore.

Modified FireRed eh? Well if you are using FireRed as a base, it can't be anything less than decent. So consider me interested. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks for the comments guys, I can assure you that you won't be disappointed when this is released. I will be posting every time an update is made on the game, so stay tuned. I might even have some sort of a contest where someone from KH13 will be picked to be an Elite 4 member in the game.

Thanks, we are trying to make each area as unique and natural looking as possible. Our inspiration for the mapping style actually does come from Hoenn and the Sevii Islands, along with Johto-like cities since the region is directly north of it. There will be plenty of areas to explore, and there might even be a second region or a mini region added to the game.
