The Reapers Game is a one week competition which only the dead may take part in. Each potential participant is approached shortly after their passing and is given the choice by the reapers Games usually take place weeks apart, but sometimes games can be held two times in a row, and in rare instances, three times. Every contestant is called a player and is given a player pin as a sign of his or her entry. To enter in the game every player has to pay an 'entry fee', that is taken by the conductor. Every Player must give up whatever is dearest to them in order to participate. This entry fee can be physical, such as mementos or people, or more physical or immaterial such as one's appearance, dreams, or memories. IF ANY PLAYER FAILS TO COMPLETE THEIR MISSION, THEY WILL BE ERASED FROM THE GAME!!!

Bio: Rhythm was a graffiti artist in Shibuya who didn't care for anyone around him, he always acts cool and always wears his signature headphones. He usually doesn't listen to people when they are talking to him and gets shouted at because of this. Rhythm detests the world around him and the people because he believes that he simply doesn't understand how to interact with others and why they are the way they are.

 

How you died: Rhythm died from listening to his music one time while graffiti-ing a wall and a cop had found him doing so. Rhythm then ran from the cop, hoping to escape when he was hit by car.

Bio: Alexia was a girl full of life,warm hearted and known for her sense of style and music around her circle of friends. She has always had a tough to deal with attitude,getting angry of practically anything,so her friends hanged with her just bearly and trying to ignore her when she got to rough,also being careful to not make her snap or anything like that.

 

How you died: Alexia was with her friends in an aparment building. After a fight with her friends Alexia was walking away and down stairs on her way home. Her friends followed her trying to have her to understand and fix the problem. While she acted childish having her hands on her ears and singing 'I can't hear you'. She couldn't hear her friends warning her of the short step. Alexia then took a step for tragedy as she lost her balance on the short step. Trying to get balance back she just ended up crashing against the window infront of her with just enough force to break it. The last thing Alexia saw was her the ground getting closer,and the last thing she heard was both her and her friends screaming.

Rhythm was led on the ground in the scramble crossing and he began to wake up when he heard a beeping noise. "Where... am I?" He then looked up at a sign that said Shibuya. "Oh, I'm in Shibuya, but how did I get here?" Rhytm then jumped to his feet and finally noticed the beeping noise. "Hmmmm..." Rhytm then took out a phone from his pocket. "... so I got a new message, huh?" Rhytm then flicked his phone open and brought the message up on the screen. The message on the screen said 'Reach the 104 building, you have ten minutes - The Reapers'. "PFFT... more spam mail?" Rhythm then clicked the delete button and deleted the message, he then began to listen to music from his headphones as he walked through the crowd. (That's odd, I could have sworn that I would have at least barged into someone by now. This is supposed to be one of the busiest places in tokyo and it's as if everyone's a ghost or something...) Rhythm shrugged and carried on walking as he kept to himself. Suddenly, Rhythm felt a burning on his left hand. "Arghhh...!" Rhythm then staired at his hand as he saw a timer for ten minutes appeared on it and began counting down. (What the hell?!) Rhythm kept quiet and began to think of a reason for all this to be happening.

Alexia slowly woke up. She opened her eyes slowly and looked around. She could see people walking around. She slowly satted up and helded her head. The people passed by her as if she didn't excisted. Alexia found herself infront of the Statue of Hachiko. She stared at it. "Hachiko?But...how...."Alexia says. Her voice,it was emotionless. Her eyes were a bit dull. She felt...nothing. She felt as empty as a shell. She looked down and stood up. "The last I remember was falling,screaming,and then...here."Alexia says. Suddenly she heard her phobe beep. She took it out and stared at it. It had a messege. " 'Reach the 104 building, you have ten minutes - The Reapers'."Alexia reads. She stared with a strange yet emotionless look. "What the heck?"Alexia asks. She then felt a burning sensation in her hand. She dropped her phone. She thne quickly picked it up,good thing these things were made to last. She then looked at her hand and saw a glowing clock starting to coundown. Right on her hand. "What..."Alexia says. She backed away until she went up against the statue. She looked around. She walked over to someone. "Escuse me?"Alexia asks. But when she went to touch the person's shoulder,her hand went through. She freaked and backed away,though her face showed no emotion of it. "What's going on?"Alexia asks.

Rhythm walked through the crowd of what seemed to be ghosts of sorts. (Well this sucks, I don't remember anything but my name and then I found this...) Rhythm held his hand open to find the player pin. (... I don't remember picking this up and it wasn't in my hand when I woke up. Somehow it got into my hand without me realising it and that's not even the strange part.) Rhythm stopped walking and put his right hand to his headphones so that he could listen to the music better, he then closed his eyes and tapped his foot in a pattern. (Is this really Shibuya? I know the name and where it's located, but that's it. I don't know where I'm going and how I got knocked out in this crossing.) Rhythm then kept on walking and found himself at some sort of statue in the shape of a dog. (It's says on the statue that this is the statue of Hachiko.) Rhythm then looked back at his hand and he noticed that it was already down to five minutes. "Hmmmmm..." Rhythm then stuck his hand back in his pocket. (That's strange, I wonder how this timer on my hand works? Do I have to do something to stop it ticking? And what will happen when it runs out?) Rhythm shrugged but then froze when he saw a red marking float in mid-air. "What...?" The red marking then turned to oddly coloured frog. (The heck is thing?) The frog then attack Rhythm and it was doing a descent amount of damage to him. "Arghh... what the heck?" Rhythm then began to make a run for it. "Screw this, I'm outta here."

Alexia walked around. "What is going on?"Alexia wondered. She stared down at her hands and saw the timer going down. "Is..is this a dream?"Alexia asks. She looked around. "It must be a dream,the death,this all must be a dream...right?!"Alexia asks to herself. She then walked away and got her hands in her pockets. Then she felt that there was something in there. She took out whatever it was and opened her hand to see...pins??? "What...how did these get here?"Alexia asks. She got the rest in the pocket and stared at the one that was black and had a skull design on it. She then turned and sw something red floating in the sky towards her. She stared at it and poked it. It then suddenly transformed into a wolf. It growled at her. Alexia backed away. "Nice doggy..."Alexia says. The worlf growled and Alexia made a run for it. The wolf went after her. "What the hell it's going on?!"Alexia asks. She wondered why was all this happening. She wasn't looking foward or thinking straight. She then bumped into someone hard enough for them both of fall.

Rhythm was knocked to the ground as a girl bumped into him. "HEY!!! WATCH WHERE YOUR...!!!" Rhythm then realised that he bumped into someone, someone that wasn't a ghost like the others around town. (Strange, I thought I was the only one here.) Rhythm then got to his feet quickly and looked at the girl. "Grrrr... I don't have time for this." Rhythm then turned back to the monsters that were following them and took out the Pyrokinesis pin. (I just hope this actually does something.) The wolf that was following the girl then ran after him and tried to attack, Rhythm moved out of the way and held out his left hand. Suddenly, a fire began to surround the wolf, but it was as if nothing was happening. "What...?" Rhythm then looked back at the girl. (If she was running away, then that means she had no way of fighting these guys either. If we teamed up then we could be able to beat these things, but... do I really want to lower myself to the point where I need others?)

Alexia stared at the boy. "(I didn't passed through him,I was able to bump into him.)"Alexia thinks. She then stood up as she saw the fire sorrounding the wolf. She looked up at the boy. "How did you do that?"Alexia asks. She had no answer as he seemed confused as well. Alexia stood up and looked at the pin in his hand. She then took out a pin that had a desighn tat looked like a blue fire/meteorite/firework desighn. Alexia pointed it at the Frogs that were coming the other way. Some green/bluish fire shots appeare straight from the pin and got the frogs. But the frogs stood back up and charged at them. Alexia dodged and kept shooting until it seemed it ran out of juice. "(These pins...are like weapons?)"Alexia thinks wondering.

"Hmmm..." Rhythm moved out the way of the monsters and made his way to a safe spot. (Seems like she can use pins as well, are we somehow connected? ... No way... completely out of the question, she seems to be doing this by instinct and I, on the other hand, figured out how to use it by using my head. But no matter what happens, we can't defeat them.) Rhythm then pointed his left arm at the monster again and more flames came out, but the monsters remained unharmed. (Hmmm... they're still not dying, it's as if it has infinite health.) An idea then snapped in Rhythm's head. (That's it, there's gotta be another set of monsters that look exactly like this and are connected spiritually.) Rhythm then ran back to the girl and all of a sudden the word 'pact' popped into his mind. "Hey girl, make a pact with me. It's the only way that we can beat these things." Rhythm then looked back at the monsters and used his pin again as he wondered about something. (What the hell just happened? That word just popped into my head out of no where, what is going on?)

Alexia looked at him. "Pact?What the hell are you talking about?!"Alexia asks. She then took out another pin. It had a hand desighn on it. She pointed it at the Frogs. Nothing happened. Alexia stared at it. "Why won't it work?WHat does this even do?"Alexia asks. She then shook it moving it around. Suddenly a car cam flying from where it was parked and smashed it right against the wolf. Alexia stared at this and her jaw almost dropped. She then stared at the pin and rose it and the car rose. She then swang it and teh car flew and landed on teh frogs. She then looked at the boy. "Whatever this pact thing is,do it."Alexia says as she stretched her hand.

Rhythm then turned around quickly and while dodging a monster he grabbed the girls hand, the two then seemed to vanish and were now faced with the enemies from before in seperate areas, but they looked weaker. "Alright, now I can take care of these guys." Rhythm then took out the Shockwave pin from his pocket and ran at the monsters. "Here goes." Rhythm then used the pin to shoot out shockwaves and they attacked the monsters, severely damaging them. (Now these guys are almost too easy.) Rhythm then smirked slightly as he carried on fighting.

Alexia stared at the creatures. She then took out the pin with the hand symbol and moved it around. Then the car flew around and got smacked against the Frogs and the wolf. Then the pin ran out of energy and the car fell down. Alexia stared down at the pin and took out another one. it was one of lightning. She rose it and lightning fell down on the Wolf and frogs. Alexia then took out the green sphere pin again. She pointed it and it shotted. She killed off a frog. "(So they just need to re-charge.)"Aleixa thinks.

(That frog just vanished, that means this is working.) Rhythm dodged the wolf wich remained and took out his last pin, it was white with a red design and it seemed to be resonating with slightly more power than the others. "Here goes." Rhythm then held his left hand open while holding his right hand to his headphones, he then shot out a rock in the shape of a bullet and it burst into pieces on impact, destroying the wolf monster. (And that takes care of that.) Rhythm then noticed a flash and suddenly he was stood next to the girl. "Hmmm..." Rhythm began to think to himself again, as usual. (Looks like she made it out too, guess our battle's really were connected.)

Alexia looked down at the pins. "(What just happened?)"Alexia thinks trying to figure out all that had happened just a few minutes ago. She then stared at the boy. "(He's the only one who has actually noticed my excistance so far...)"Alexia thinks. She turned to him. "Um,hey. I just need to ask,do you have any idea what's going on?Or what were those things?Or what's....this?"Alexia asks as she showed the clock counting down in her hand.

Rhythm then turned to the girl and looked at the timer on her hand, there was about two and a half minutes left on it. (She's got one too, this can't be a coincidense. The timer turned up almost after I...) Rhythm's eyes widened. "Quick, check your phone!" The girl seemed startled as she took out her phone, there was a message on it that already been read. (That means that wasn't a spam mail and we have to get to the 104 building in less than two minutes.) Rhythm then took off without warning and headed back the way he came. (I can see the building from here. If I run, then I can make it in time.) Rhythm then made his way towards the building, not giving even a single thought about the girl he made a pact with.

Alexia just stared as the boy took off. "Um...goodbye?"Alexia asks. She stared at her hand and then stared at the cellphone messege. "He seemed in a hurry. Does this mean he knows what he's doing?"Alexia asks. She looked down a bit and stared back at the cellphone. "104 building...that should be..."Alexia says. She looked around and then randomply pointed at a spot. "Around there."Alexia says. Living in this city,gave her the advantedge of territory knowledge. She looked back at the dorection where the boy went off running. She then decided to run,following him,atleast trying to keep up. Maybe he knew of what was going on? "Hey,wait up?"Alexia says.

Rhythm kept running towards the building at full speed. (One minute left, I'm gunna make it.) Rhythm was about to reach the building when he smashed straight into an invisible wall. "What the...?" Rhythm then tried to push against the wall, but it wouldn't let him through. (No, I can't get through.) Rhythm looked around and saw a man in a red jacket next to the wall. "Objective cleared." The man said quietly and where Rhythm's had been against the wall was now free. "Alright!" Rhythm then ran through and arrived at the 104 building. (Who was that guy? What did he mean 'Objective cleared'? Maybe it has something to do with the monsters me and the girl defeated earlier.) Rhythm then looked at his hand and the timer had vanished. "Looks like I won." Rhythm thought to himself again. (I think I'm begining to understand what's going on here, I'm stuck in some sort of game and these 'Reapers' are sending us mission's via our phones. That much makes sense, but what are the monsters?) Rhythm then felt another sensation where words would pop into his head. "What is this...?" Three words then popped into Rhythm's head, the words were 'Noise', 'Erasure' and 'Reapers Game'. "Hmmm..." Rhythm tried to put these words together in his head when the girl from earlier came running. (What is she doing here?)

Alexia ran to the boy. Just at that very second. Her timer dissapeared just as there was only a second left remaining. She stood up and stared at the boy. "Don't go off running like that. You're the only person who has noticed my excisistence. Now tell me what's going on?"Alexia asks. "You're in the Reapers Game."A voice says. Alexia turned and saw a man with orange hair and galsses standing there. "What?"Alexia asks. The man smirks. "You two are part of the Reapers Game. You must survive 7 days and pass the 7 missions we ask you to do. If you fail,you will be erased. Meaning. You shall die."The man says. Alexia stared. She was getting angry,but without emotions,she couldn't show it. "What are you saying?!"Alexia asks. The man laughed a bit. "You're so motone. You two have pacted with eachother. So consider yourselves parthners in the game."The man says.

(Partners? Yeah right, as if I can work with this girl.) Rhythm stepped forward and looked at the man. "You, your a Reaper aren't you?" The man grinned. "Your faster than the others, impressive. But I must say, you don't seem very happy." "Why would I be happy when you've put me in a position I can't get out of?" "Touche~, I'm sure the two of you will find the answers your looking for soon enough. For now, you should get ready for the next game." The man then began to walk away. (That guy, so that's a Reaper. He's one of the ones who sends missions to us and that means that those monsters are called 'Noise'.) Rhythm crossed his arms as he stared at the man as he left. (Everything makes sense now, we're Players in the Reapers Game and that means we have to complete mission's to make sure that we're not erased. The only thing I don't get, is where did I find the words in my head to have come up with all of this? ... Maybe that was the Reapers too or... it could be someone new.)

Alexia stared. "(Reapers game...wha...)"Alexia thinks. She then looked at the boy and thought of the whole parthner thing. Alexia looked away and looked back at the boy. "So...I guess...we're parthners in this 'game'?"Alexia asks. She stared at the boy. he was rather quiet. She rubbed her cheek slightly and then stretched her hand for a handshake. "Um...I'm Aleixa...and you are?"Alexia asks. if they wer egoing to be stuck in this game,they might as well learn eachother's names.

"..." Rhythm didn't answer her question as he was too caught up in his own thought gto realise that she was talking to him. (Alright, if we have to complete a mission every day for a whole week, then what's going to happen on the seventh day?) Rhythm crossed his arms as he wondered, but then he turned his attention to the girl who had introduced herslef as Alexia. "... Rhythm..." Rhythm then began to think once again. (This girl is nothing but trouble, I need to find a way to get rid of her before she slows me down any more.) Rhythm was about to walk away again before everything around him began to get darker. (For some reason, I'm starting to... feel... tired...) Rhythm then saw as the girl collapsed and he began to do the same thing. (I don't know... what's... happening...) Rhythm then fell to the ground and felt himself become unconciouss.

 

The next thing Rhythm knew, he had woken up in some sort of underpass. "Where am I now?" Rhythm then got to his feet and looked around. (Did I get rid of that girl? What a relief...) But Rhythm had spoke too soon as he saw laying on the ground a little ways away. (Just great.)

Alexia slowly woke up. She helded her head. "My head...where am I?"Alexia asks. She slowly satted up and looked around. She then noticed the boy,Rhythm,sitting up no so far away. "(So it wasn't a dream...)"Alexia thinks. Alexia though she was smiling,but with no emotions,she couldn't. She waved at him and then heard her cellphone beep. She took it out and saw a messege. " 'Destroy the NOISE in Cat Street. You have 30 minutes. Fail and face erasure. - The Reapers.' . "Alexia read. She felt a pain in her hand and she saw the clock re-appear and start ticking down.

(Cat street? Are you mad? That's the other side of the map considering we're in the station underpass! LOL!)

 

Rhythm felt a synge as he looked at his hand. "Timers back." Rhythm looked around and began walking towards what seemed to be the way out of the underpass. (Looks like I can get out through...) Rhythm then walked into another wall. "Hmmm..." Rhythm had a feeling and looked to his right, there he saw something shockingly familiar. There was a man in a red jacket stood next to the wall just like the day before. (He was at the other wall yesterday.) Rhythm then aproached the man. "Who are you?" "Don't have time for chit chat, want through this wall? Then defeat these Noise." The man then caused some Noise to appear and Rhythm and Alexia were sent into a battle.

Alexia looked up and could see some Frog NOISE,Bat like NOISE and some porcupine NOISE. Alexia took out the Lightning pin. She rose it and Lightning fell down on teh NOISE. They attacked at her. Alexia dodged it. She jumped back and used the Green Fire pin and started to shoot at them. She hit a few. She got to kill off a frog. She then took out the Lightning Pin and used Lightning on them again. There were no cars or anything to use the Telekinesis pin on,so she would have to do with two.

Rhythm carried on fighting the bat and porcupine Noise that remained. "Let's get this over with." Rhythm took out the Shockwave pin out of his pocket, flipped it into the air and caught it in his hand. Rhythm then waved his arm and sent out seven shockwaves towards the Noise, the bat Noise was then defeated. "Two down, one to go." Rhythm then ran at the last one taking out his Pyrokinesis pin and jumped over the porcupine Noise. While Rhythm was in mid-air, he pointed down at the Noise and flames sprouted from it, burning it alive. "And that takes care of that." Rhythm then landed back on the ground as the Noise was erased, there was then a flash and he was yet again re-united with Alexia.

Alexia stared at Rhythm. "Well we did it."Alexia says. She then stared at the man. The man stared. "Objective cleared. Wall cleared."The man says as the wall dissapeared and so did the man. Alexia stared. She then moved her arm around to see if the wall was really gone. She turned to Alex and noded. "Let's go."Alexia says. She thought she was smiling. But she wasn't. She walked over to him and grabbed his arm and practically dragged him towards Cat Street. Not wanting to lose any time.
