The Reapers Game is a one week competition which only the dead may take part in. Each potential participant is approached shortly after their passing and is given the choice by the reapers Games usually take place weeks apart, but sometimes games can be held two times in a row, and in rare instances, three times. Every contestant is called a player and is given a player pin as a sign of his or her entry. To enter in the game every player has to pay an 'entry fee', that is taken by the conductor. Every Player must give up whatever is dearest to them in order to participate. This entry fee can be physical, such as mementos or people, or more physical or immaterial such as one's appearance, dreams, or memories. IF ANY PLAYER FAILS TO COMPLETE THEIR MISSION, THEY WILL BE ERASED FROM THE GAME!!!

Bio: Rhythm was a graffiti artist in Shibuya who didn't care for anyone around him, he always acts cool and always wears his signature headphones. He usually doesn't listen to people when they are talking to him and gets shouted at because of this. Rhythm detests the world around him and the people because he believes that he simply doesn't understand how to interact with others and why they are the way they are.

 

How you died: Rhythm died from listening to his music one time while graffiti-ing a wall and a cop had found him doing so. Rhythm then ran from the cop, hoping to escape when he was hit by car.

Entry fee: Rhyme's entry fee was his memory.

(What does this girl think she's doing? Dragging me around as if I'm some sort of ragdoll.) Rhythm then pulled his arm away rhather harshly. "Get off of me! I don't know why your acting so happy because there isn't anything to be happy about. I don't need you and all your doing is slowing me down, so get out of my face!" Rhythm then stuck his hands in his pockets and kept on walking without Alexia who seemed to be stunned by Rhythm's harshness.

Alexia stared. She looked down and rubbed her arm. She would frown if she could. Even though inside her mind she thought she was frowning. Alexia stared as he walked away. "Sorry..."Alexia says. She then quietly followed Rhythm towards Cat Street. It was in the otehr side of the city. And with only around 20 minutes left. They would have to hurry. Alexia looked around and saw that they were around the Was Exit Bus Terminal. Alexia looked around and stared at the people that were just walking around without seeing them.

(A walk to cat street, could things be any easier? All we have to do is find it and they say that when you don't know where you're going, follow your instincts.) Rhythm carried on walking in a northern direction as he looked back slightly at Alexia who was following him quietly. (What's her problem? It's as if she doesn't feel anything.) Rhythm then looked back up front. (I'd better hurry to cat street if I want to make sure that I don't get erased.) Rhythm's pace then began to pick up as he walked faster than before with his hands still in his pockets.

Alexia followed from a few feet back. She rubbed her shoulder a bit. "(If I haden't been a jerk,if I haden't walked down those stairs covering my ears...I wouldn't had died,and I would't had ended up in this place...)"Alexia thinks. She looks down. "(So...if people come in this game once they die...how are we soppouse to go back?)"Alexia thinks. She then looked back up and quickly catched up to Rhythm. It would be a few minutes until getting there,so she thought it would be fun to start a conversation. "So...Rhythm...if you don't mind me asking...how did you die?"Alexia asks.

Rhythm stopped walking and looked at Alexia with a confused expression. "Exscuze me?" Alexia looked at Rhythm with an odd look as if there was something he didn't understand. "What?!" Rhythm then had another brain surge where a word would pop into his head, the word death appeared in Rhythm's head. ('Death', what could that have to do with the Reapes Game? ...) Rhythm began to think about how Alexia asked how he died and then there was the fact that he woke up in the scramble crossing the day before. (... Hold on! Could I really be...!) Rhythm then looked at his arms in shock and with wide eyes. "I'm... dead?"

Alexia stared. "It kind of makes sense..."Alexia says. She started to walk around a bit. "When i fell out the window. I hit the ground,killing me instantly. I know that I had to be dead when I hit the ground. Yet when I woke up,I was as good as new. No scratches,no bruises,no broke bones..."Alexia says. She turned to him. "Maybe that's why we're in the Reapers Game...for anothing chance at life. That's why we would be 'erased'. Not 'killed'. Because we're already dead. Maybe we're just ghosts,but in the game itself."Alexia says.

Rhythm crossed his arms and actually payed attention to what Alexia was saying for once. "Hmmmm..." Rhythm then began to think to himself. (That would make perfect sense if only I knew who I was, I can't remember anything from before waking up yesterday.) Rhythm then looked back at Alexia. "Let's go, we don't want to be erased, so we had better get going." Rhythm then began walking and Alexia followed him. "... You wanted to know... how I died?" Rhythm said as he turned back to look at her, Alexia then nodded. "... If I knew, then I would tell you... but I can't remember. I don't know who I am, the only thing I know is my name. The only thing I can remember is waking up yesterday and becoming a part of the Reapers Game."

Alexia stared ta him. "I see..."Alexia says. Her voice as motone as ever. It was a surprise she haden't noticed herself. Probably because eh thought she sounded and was acting normal,when she wasn't. She looked away. "I remember mostly everything. From hitting the ground to wakinbg up in the middle of the park..."Alexia says. She then looked around and notoced that they were getting closer to cat street already. Alexia started to walk up some stairs. "We're close."Alexia says.

(No S***, we just passed a sign that says 'Cat street this way', man this girl doesn't have to go stating the obviouss. Why did I bother telling her about me, not having any memory, anyway? She's only gunna be worried about me now and that's the last thing I want.) Rhythm and Alexia were now on cat street and were now looking around for the Noise that they had to eliminate. "So... any ideas?"

Alexia walked around and then looked at the pin. She stared ta it for a while and then looked back at Rhythm. She looked at him. "Scan the area."Alexia says. He stared at her. "Try to scan the area with your player pin. If we can scan the area...we might be able to find NOISE that we can't see at simple sight."Alexia says. She had no idea where these words or explinations were coming from. But they made somewhat sense,so she just letted them speak for her.

Rhythm sighed and took out all the pins he had in his pocket, he then picked up the player pin and put the others back in his pocket. "Fine, I'll try scanning." Rhythm some how knew what he was doing, he then widened his stance and bent his head down slightly as he closed his eyes. Rhythm then raised his hands to his headphones and could hear voices in his head. (These voices, are these people's thoughts? Anyway...) Rhythm then scanned a large yellow Noise sygil floating in mid-air. "Found it." Rhythm said in a quiet and monotone voice, he then oppened his eyes and looked in the direction where the Noise was. "That guy over there, he's being posessed by a Noise... a strong one."

Alexia stared. She then walked over to the man. "Escuse me,sir?"Alexia asks. She stared. The man looked down. He didn't answered. Alexia then took out her pin and got it close to the man. Suddenly the man collapsed n the ground as a NOISE symbol slowly came out from the man and stared at the both of them. Alexia stared. "Um,Rhythm. I think you found the NOISE."Alexia says. The NOISE roared and attacked them. Suddenly a light appeared and seperated them in two different areas. The two of them were fighting off the same huge NOISE.

"What a pain." Rhythm got ready for battle as he faced the large Noise wich took the form of a giant bat. (Judging by it's looks, I'd say that thing is capable of flying at great speeds. This might be tough, but I'm sure that we can handle it.) Rhythm then took out his Pyrokinesis pin and set the bat on fire with it. (This one is much stronger than the average Noise that we run into, we'd better hurry up before we run out of time.)

Alexia took out the Lightning pin and used it on the NOISE. It hit. But then the NOISE charged at her and knocked her off her feet. Alexia fell down. She quickly got back up and used Psycokinesis. She picked up a car and threw it against the NOISE. The NOISE got hit with it and was sent back a bit. It then charged back at Alexia. It again knocked her off her feet. Alexia struggled and stood back up. She used teh Green fire pin and she started to shoot at the bat.

Rhythm ran around the bat Noise as he sent out shockwaves from his Shockwave pin. "We're doing it, but we need more power." Rhythm then had another brain syrge, but this time it was as if someone had put an entire sentence in his head. (Work with your partner, attack at the same time and you'll become stronger.) Rhythm then shook his head a little to get back into reality and took out his Player pin. (If I don't hold my Player pin, then Alexia should be able to scan me and be able to figure out what we have to do to beat this thing.) Rhythm then threw his Player pin up into the air for about ten seconds before it came back down and landed in his hand. "That should have been enough time for her to scan me, I just hope that she didn't see anything else." Rhythm then sighed as he kept on running. "Silly me, there isn't anything else to see."

Alexia stared at the bat and dodged a hit. She then took out her pin and closed her eyes. She scanned the area and somewhat received a signal from Rhythm. She looked back up. "Lets do this."Alexia says. Suddenly the pin glew purple as she felt their minds connect for a second. She opened her eyes. "here we go."Alexia says. It was as if they were in the same diemnsion. Some chains started to go around the bat. Alexia then jumped towards it and she started to punch it and kick it like crazy. She dissapeared and punched it on different spots. Strangely enough,Rhythm started to do the same in his end. Eventually they both ended with a big punch and the Bat got erased. ending the battle.

 

(Shiki has a cat plushie,Beat a Skateboard,Joshua,he's just that cool,so I thought punches would be good)

(Ha ha ha, we need to get our hands on a teamwork pin, forgot the real name for it.)

 

Rhythm was panting as he literally went on a killing spree all over the bat Noise. "Huff.. huff... huff... we did it." There was a flash and Rhythm was back with Alexia. (I take it she got my message, otherwise we probably would have lost that fight.) Rhythm put his right arm on his hip and held his left hand up. "Timers gone, I guess we did it." Rhythm then lowered his left hand and began thinking again. (Now, what's gunna happen? Do we have a little bit of time left or are we just gunna nod off to sleep? And if we do have time to stay awake, are we going to run into that Reaper again?)

Alexia slightly panted and then looked up slightly and got some hair off her face. She turned to Rhythm and then looked back around. "Well. We still have some time I guess."Alexia says. She then looked around and sniffed teh air a bit. She smiled a bit. "Wow. That smells nice."Alexia says as she smelled the coffee coming from a nearby cofee shop. Alexia turned to the cofee shop and walked over to it. She walked inside and look around. Rhythm stared,as if she had forgotten that they couldn't be seen by anyone. Then the man at the counter waved at Alexia. "Hello,come in."The man says. Alexia stared. She then turned to Rhythm. "It seems we can be seen in shops."Alexia says as she enters.

Rhythm rubbed the back of his head. (We can be seen inside shops? There's gotta be a reason.) Rhythm then saw a symbol on the wall of the shop wich he thought was just graffiti at first, but then realised it was the same design as the one on his Player pin. "Hmmm..." Rhythm then thought about the design on the wall. (Maybe it's the sign that's causing people to see us or maybe it's interacting with our Player pins.) Rhythm then walked into the coffee shop and stood next to Alexia. "What are we doing here? You really want coffee?"

Alexia walked over to the man and looked around. "Not really. Just smelled good in here."Alexia says. "Why hello there kids. Haven't seen you around here before."The man says. "I'm Alexia. And this is my friend,Rhythm."Alexia says,not wanting to use the term 'parthner' incase this man knew nothing about the game. The man nods. "Nice to meet ya. you can call me Mr.Hanekoma."The man says. Alexia nods. "Nice to meet you sir."Alexia says.

Rhythm crossed his arms and lowered his head a little. (Friends? Who ever said we were friends? This girl assume's to much.) Rhythm then looked at Mr.Hanekoma. "Hmmm..." Rhythm began to think again. (There's something strange about this guy, I feel like I want to openly have a conversation with him. But that's nonsense, I only talk with her if it's desperate and the only reason I'm staying with her is to survive. What kind of sad ass would put me in this situation.) Rhythm then noticed Mr.Hanekoma looking at him. "You alright kid? You seem to be thinking a lot." Rhythm then sighed and shook his head, his eyes then widened as he realised something. (Wait! I can't scan him, that means...) Rhythm then turned to Alexia who was stood next to Mr.Hanekoma. "Get away from him now." Alexia seemed surprised as Rhythm looked like he was about to fight. "You, Mr.Hanekoma right? I can't scan you, that must mean that you're either a Reaper or another Player. Sinse you have no partner to make a pact with, that means you are a Reaper, aren't you?!" Rhythm was now becoming agitated and was about to get into a fight with Mr.Hanekoma."Tell me, what do you have to do with the Reapers Game?!"

Alexia stared. Mr.Hanekoma laughed. "Calm down kid."Mr.Hanekoma says. Alexia stared. Mr.Hanekoma stared at them. "You are very alert kid. But I don't really know what to say about what you have just asked me."Mr.Hanekoma says. He then looked over to Alexia. "You two seem to be new around here. So if you ever need any info about this city. just come here to me. i should be able to help you a time or two."Mr.Hanekoma says. Alexia nods. "Thanks sir."Alexia says. Not minding Rhythm's warning.

Rhythm was getting annoyed with Mr.Hanekoma. (Who is he? He's no average person and what I've just said proves it.) Rhythm crossed his arms and confirmed his suspissions. (Yes, it would make sense that he knows about the Reapers Game, otherwise he would have freaked out when I blurted all of that out. The only logical explenation to all of this is that he is a Reaper, but something inside of me is telling me I am wrong.) Rhythm then sighed and put his hands in his pockets. "Hey coffee guy, who are you?"

Mr.Hanekoma stared and smiled. "Just a normal cofee shop owner."Mr.Hanekoma says. Alexia noded and looked back at Rhythm. "Stop being so paranoid."Alexia says. She then crossed her arms and stared at him. "You need to be more polite too."Alexia says. SHe then turned to Mr.Hanekoma just just smiled. "Well,if any of you kids have anything or need to know anything. Just ask. Also,you should look out for the pins that the NOISE drop. They can be exchanged for money."Mr.Hanekoma says. Alexia nods.

Rhythm then immediately pointed at Mr.Hanekoma. "So you DO know about the Game!" Mr.Hanekoma sighed and Alexia looked at him, Rhythm then crossed his arms. "So, Noise drop pins as well? That's news to me, I haven't had a brain syrge about that yet." Mr.Hanekoma then stopped what he was doing and turned to Rhythm. "A brain syrge? Do you mean your getting individual words popping into your head and they're somehow making sense with the ituation your in at that time?" Rhythm was practically frozen. "Uhhhh, yeah that's pretty much it." Mr.Hanekoma then walked over to Neku. "Do you have your Player pin?" "Of course I do." Rhythm then took out his Player pin. "Hmmmm... this is not good, someone is imprinting on you even though you have a Player pin." "Imprinting?" "It's an ability that the Player pin grants so that you can put Meme's into people's heads and it seems like someones doing it to you." "But how? If I have my Player pin, then that shouldn't happen!" Mr.Hanekoma then looked worried. "It seems that you two are in for some bid trouble come the seventh day." "The seventh day? What happens on the seventh day?"
