Hideo Kojima is back behind the wheel for the next installment in the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

First details of the project are revealed in the upcoming issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, where Kojima himself discusses plans for Metal Gear Solid 5 and the recently teased Project Ogre.

The issue hits newsstands on November 29, though excerpts from the interview are said to be available online sometime next week.

That's awesome. Now I have to hurry and buy MGS4 so i can catch up on the series.

Oh my. I am a happy person now. A very happy person.

I thought Kojima said to consider Peace Walker MGS5.

I'm going to wait until the actual details come out before I believe anything.

Cool!

I never thought that they would do a MGS5 after MGS4.

Next month's Official PlayStation Magazine will feature an interview with the offbeat director in which he'll "openly discuss" his plans for Metal Gear Solid 5 along with his next game Project Ogre.

Little has been revealed about what those plans might be, whether the title has been officially green lit or if the details of MGS 5 currently exist anywhere other than Kojima's fertile imagination.

The developer will also talk about the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Rising and his desire to kill off series protagonist Solid Snake. In Kojima's own words, "Snake was supposed to die".

Assuming MGS 5 goes ahead, what form would you want to see it take and on which platforms should it launch?

Um... the details are right in front of you. What more info do you want to believe this is true? Lol.

I think that it Kojima should go ahead and make another MGS game that doesn't take place in the past (eg. MGS: PW & MGS: Rising). I really want to see how Solid Snake Dies and what Otocon will do after Snake's death. I don't think we will need any other MS game after MGS5 since everything has been explained during the other installments of the MGS franchise.

All those details said was that he would be talking about it next month. The magazine isn't even out yet, so it's impossible to know to what extent he talks about MGS5. He could say that it's not happening, or it's in development, or he could say that Peace Walker is supposed to be like MGS5 (which he's said before). As long as the interview contains the words "Metal Gear Solid 5", they can throw it on the front page. That's why I'm saying that until the interview is ACTUALLY released, saying MGS5 is confirmed is a bit of a stretch.

Speaking about Metal Gear Solid 5, Hideo Kojima said, "I think we'll probably have to make it at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea".

Kojima is distancing himself from the project, however. "As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, [it] probably won't be as much as it was with MGS1 – maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on – that level I can't do again," said Kojima in an interview given to Official PlayStation Magazine.

But Kojima aimed to do something similar with Metal Gear Solid 4. "I intended to take it to a certain point and then hand it off, but that didn't work, because it's hard to convey the concept to other people then have them take the reins and carry on and preserve that vision.

"That's why it's easier to have them come up with everything from the start and then take it to the end".

Poor Kojima, being forced to milk his franchise.
