Inheritence: Return of the Dragon Riders

Posted

This is based on the Inheritence Cycle written by Christopher Paolini. It takes place several centuries after the end of the last book, with Eragon having built the new hall for the Dragon Riders, who have begun showing up to be taught the ways of magic and the Dragon Riders. You can be Human, Elf, Dwarf, or Urgal, as all are now accepted as Dragon Riders. Eventually, a new enemy that threatens Alagaesia will arise and the new Dragon Riders will have to fight it to save the world.

Typical rules apply (No god modding, killing or controlling other's characters without permission, keep romance PG13, etc)

Also, I would prefer, but not require, those who join to have read the four books, as there will be spoilers in the RP.

Everyone will have a Rider Sword of their own style and name and will have the same color as their dragon, with a gem at the hilt for storing energy, as well as any additional weapon of their choosing. However, as this setting is similar to medieval times, there will be no guns.

When speaking as your dragon, or in thought-speak, use Italics, as in the books.

If you have read this, put Brisingr at the end of your post.

"Well, i don't really know how many Dwarves or Urgals there'll be, but we can count on quite a few Elves and Humans arriving, seeing as we've been at this longer than Dwarves or Urgals, but there should be a decent amount of all races." said Darrian.

Lirael rode on Gram's back as they soared through the air. She loved flying and Gram was good at it. They had already covered a lot of ground and neared Dras Gedwey.

"Think it will be all it's cracked up to be?" She yelled over the rushing wind to her mount.

"Yes and no." Gram answered. "Nothing is truly as good as we imagine it could be. But I do believe it will be better than you fear."

"And you." Lirael pointed out. "You are just as nervous about this as I am."

Gram snorted, conceding the point.

"Then let's be honest about this fear. I'm nervous because this is the seat of the Dragon Riders. I am not sure I will be up to their standards. Whether I am worthy of the power and responsibility."

Lirael thumped the dragon's neck.

"That's ridiculous, Gram." she chided her friend. "That's a bunch of horse cookies and you know it. We have fought the good fight. Maybe not at their scale, but we still do our part."

Gram looked back at Lirael with one eye. She could see a twinkle in his eye.

"I know. My fear is irrational. As is your fear of not being a socially acceptable rider."

Lirael opened her mouth to retort, but snapped it shut before she said anything. She looked down at her animal skins, the armor she had pieced together from a bunch of different places and the simple clothes she wore. She was always more at home in the wilds than in the village. The city would be worse.

"Fine." She said as last. "We both put aside our fears and face this together. Deal?"

Gram's face was away from her, but she knew he was smiling.

"Deal."
