So with the release of the Jump Festa trailer, we have seen a young Master Xehanort along with Vanitas confronting Sora. I know this is a long shot but, seeing the history of secret bosses being somewhat involved with the final fight of the next game in sequence, I'd like to believe that the Mysterious Figure is this young Master Xehanort from the dream world. The reason why I think this makes sense is because of the phasing in and out of reality weve seen the mysterious figure doing as well as the references to time with which we can see from the trailer isnt flowing according to the present. if indeed it is flowing at all.

An odd thought just occurred to me as I type this about time of the realm of light and darkness and how they do not flow according to one another and how time appears to be out of place in the dream world. whether or not there is any kind of connection at this point is beyond me but its worth thinking about.

Edit: Another thought occurred to me that of the name of the keyblade "no name" Weve been told that the name "Xehanort" is intentionally an anagram for two words plus an 'X' Another and No Heart. neither of which has been elaborated on. assuming that these meanings have nothing to do with Terra's incarnations as Xehanort. then perhaps there is more to Master Xehanort's past then just being an islander from the same world as our heroes. I realize the thoughts above seemingly dont have a reasonable connection but in my head it looks much better. It has been in the back of my mind since BBS, the reason behind Xehanort's name, and im wondering if maybe Riku and Terra were not the first victims of an entity's dark schemes. Perhaps Xehanort himself is a pawn of a much darker force. But, I suppose only time will tell.

I'm finally glad some said this to I've been afraid to show my theory on Xehanort's past simply because of lack of evidence. I've been pondering this since BBS look at Xehanorts reports in the beginning xehanort truly believed in the balance between light and darkness. But sometime between eraqus being chosen as the sucessor and him discovering the the secrets of the keyblade war something changed in him. There are many questions I have regarding Xehanort how did he get off Destiny Islands? Who preformed the Keyblade Inheritance ceremony on him and Eraqus? Who told him about the X-blade and the Keyblade War? Why does it seem like Xehanort was trained for darknes while eraqus was buried in light? All these questions point to one possible individual Xehanort's and Eraqus's Master(This is who I originally thought was the mysterious figure) The way they were trained could their master been preppeing them to clash and forge the X-blade. Just some food for thought.

it does make a lot of sense, perhaps we are seeing the beginnings of the "life after the Xehanort crisis" maybe the new direction nomura will take the series will be to investigate all these questions.

Master Xehanort being the pawn of a much darker force, definitely possible. After KH3, the Xehanort Saga will end but Kingdom Hearts will continue. It's very possible that somebody could be controlling Xehanort, personally I see everything he's come up with, despite his years of experience and knowledge to be far pass that of one person. He knows way too much.

Now, I don't agree with you that the Young Master Xehanort is actually MF, but I will agree it's also a pretty plausibleness theory. The way that time doesn't flow correctly between worlds will answer a lot. It's my belief that only the realm of light actually has a proper timeline (it's possible that the realm of sleep also has one but I'm not confident yet). The realm of darkness, Nothingness and In-Between do not. The reason I believe this is because characters who stay in these realms; Ven, Ansem the Wise and Aqua, do not age. So, I believe it may be possible for the young MF from the dream realm to have travelled to Land of Departure, somehow, and then afterwards gone back to his own world or stayed in the realm of the In-Between or such.

Yeah, my thoughts too, but until weve seen it for ourselves its hard to say. I suppose only time will tell.

This probably has nothing to do with anything either... But young Master Xehanort's ears arent pointy like his older, heartless, and nobody self... lol just thought i'd point that out.
