No it hasn't as it's remained true.

I think that Axel's reappearing is good. Especially now, after Days.

He is coming back, because he is one of the main characters.

 

His bond with Roxas was so special, because of Ven and Lea. So I think he is coming just because of game's story.

Here's why Lea is really in KH3D:

BECAUSE THEY ARE IN THE DREAM WORLD! anything can happen there. Unless the scene we saw in the trailer was from the real world.

I don't see the Nobodies coming back as their former selves as cheap, because there was already an existing explanation about how when a Nobody and their Heartless is defeated, blahblahblah.

 

It wasn't as if we saw them in the trailer, had no clue as to why they're alive and we're now anticipating some sort of new, twisted explanation to be tacked onto the convoluted saga that is Kingdom Hearts.

 

So, again, I personally find their existence excusable. Their involvement in KH3D is another story... I'd really like to see how SE justifies their involvement.

Axel is weird, no matter how many tiems you defeat him he comes back in CoM, then in KH2, Roxas beats him but he doesnt die. Yet when he purposly used all of his energy and power to whipe out those Dusks, he dies? Maybe it has to do with his Selfless act that brings him back liek that, or, maybe he never died, but considering his door in that one room in The Castle That Never Was being destroyed and red which means hes gone, i doubt he came back as Axel with the power of fire. I wonder how many Fire Heartless there were that were bosses =o

I'm fairly certain its the present and not a dream ..Ansems Study was the exact same as it was left in KH2. plus IenZo and Aeleus(sp) were back in their somebody clothes while Lea was in the cloak ..Yet, they both joined before Axel/Lea..so if they were still nobodies from the past they would still be cloaked...However, it still confusing why Lea was wearing a cloak ..Anyways its easy to believe that all of their heartless were destroyed as well as their nobodies so they could return whole like Yen Sid said..To be honest Axel is my favorite and i really hope he stays a fixture for many games to come.
