3DS close to reaching 4 million units sold in Japan

Posted

Nikkei in Japan is reporting that the 3DS is very close to reaching 4,000,000 units sold in Japan. Apparently, from the week of the 12th of December to the week of the 18th of December, the 3DS sold about 390,000 units. This puts the current 3DS total in Japan at 3.6 million units. And given that there are two weeks left in the year, it is possible the 3DS will reach the next million-based milestone before 2012.

So, does anybody else besides me smell more 3rd party support from this?

Hmm, wasn't their initial goal to have 4 million 3DS's sold within its first year or something like that? That would be awesome if they met their goal, after that depressing drought of sales earlier this year.

Yeah, their goal was to have 4 million 3DS's sold within the end of March. But it sold 3.5 million instead.

I wonder what it is globally?

That's because the 3DS took an arrow to the knee.

Globally, they've sold just shy 7 million

The people in Japan might be preping for Kingdom Hearts to come out. lol

More like it took the arrow out of its knee.

And used cure 3 on it.
