The Rise of Heroes: Clash of Nations

Posted

Prologue: The world of Ubeacu has always been a world of Peace. The nine kingdoms of Ubeacu have never had any problems with eachother, until fifteen years ago....a man named Kimmnadjii of the Foresstor Emerged from his long meditation and proclaimed that there would be a war, started by a secret alliance made up of five of the greatest kingdoms in the land. Kimmnadjii was later found dead in his home, with a sword threw his back. Thus the four weaker nations of Foresstor the Dog-like people who are master hunters and use mighty two handed axes as weapons, the Berrisotor the immortals who use divine magic to dispose of their enemies and heal their friends, the Gorrik the most human of the kingdoms who wear chainmail and cloth and fight with one handed swords and shields, and they chose the greatest of the lower nations to lead them. This nation is the Anguul, these are winged people. Their wings are a testimate of their class within the nation. White wings means nobility or the leading class, black wings means the soldier class, and dragon wings means the magic using class. These nations prepared a retaliation force, just incase the greater nations decided to attack. The greater nations were led by the Kamathons the dracomancers who could become dragons and fight using dragon abilities, the next in power is the Marcuscians or the Orks a barbaric tribe of the greatest hunters in the world they are only ahead of the others for their sheer numbers and battle abilities, then come the Elves the immortal and best archers in the world, then come the Dwarves who are a mechanically advanced people who use switch blades and cannons as weapons, and then the lowest are the Frigard the frog people who can live under water for months at a time. The lower nations' retaliation force was perfectly timed because the greater nations struck only days after the retaliation force was created....this is the story of this war, starting fifteen years into the war.

"Are you sure you don't? Then why was she practicing her archery in a tree near the training field? If I remember right, her name was Ash. She seemed nice enough. Surely one of you know about her, right? If she'd been an enemy then she could have killed me right on the spot. It'd be a heavy blow, after all. There aren't many medics in the entirety of our forces," Medens replied, unsure of what he was saying even as the words were escaping his mouth. Have I been played for a fool?

Mallik slammed his hand on his face. "Triple the security one out of every three squads will be armed and ready at every waking moment," he said. Then he disappared, Desmond looked at Medens, and said," Soooo....you had the hots for an elf chick huh? Well I probably would have had the same problem in that kind of situation, but we need to remember we are at war. Maybe if we end this war early you can hunt her down and introduce yourself, eh?" Desmond patted his friend on the back and smiled big, and pointed out towards the forest and said," Your lady is out there somewhere, and we'll find her ok?"

( Xander is just a side character so im not all alone you can kill him or whatever i don't care)

Ash lightly stepped forward then shot up a tree as they got closer to the camp.

" Xander they got more security they must have figured out they don't have a elven spy." She chuckled a little then stopped talking as a guard passed by. Ash took an arrow dipped it in her special poision and lined it up carefully with the bow as to avoid touching the tip.

" You feel threatened by anything, kill it." She said flatly hoping to another tree and crouching down so she was unseen. Xander nodded and took his position.

"No, no! It's not like that!" shouted Medens, blushing in spite of himself. He met a girl, another immortal like him, in fact, and she had to be a spy. Great. He hated himself and the situation that he now found himself in, but he wouldn't let it shake his resolve. Even though Desmond's antics were a bit outlandish, they had helped him to feel better about the situation. He wasn't sure what he'd do if he ever met her again, though. Would he be able to kill her? Heck, would he be able to kill anyone in this stupid war? His main function was going to be healing and defense, but there's no doubt that Captain Mallik would want him to take the offence at times as well. Especially since the reports of the explosion he'd caused had begun to circle around the camp. If they only knew real power, like the sting of a dragon's flames.

"I'm going to go soul scout for potential enemies on the outskirts of camp, Desmond, but thanks for the support," Medens called over his shoulder as he exited the tent. Reaching one of the lesser guarded edges of camp, Medens took a seat on the grass and crossed his legs, focusing once again on the magic flowing through everyone and everything. Taking deep breaths he slowly extended his range of sight, or rather touch, as he felt for more magic in efforts to "see" potential enemies before they arrived at the camp. Unfortunately his range of Soul Scouting was rather small at this point, but still, it was better than nothing.

Desmond shrugged. It couldn't be helped...so he walked off towards the boarder of the camp, and looked out to the forest. His hightened senses were telling him something was up. He could feel it...he looked out towards the forest and wondered about the things he would soon see...how would he react if a commrad died? Or...if he managed to kill....he sighed. It was pointless worrying about something in the future.

Ash quickly pulled back her bow silently killing one of the guards. She jumped sound landing softly next to it.

" Fake wings....." She breathed. Hmm clever. She backed out of the open dragging the body with her into the forest she set it down and peaked out fronm behind a tree while loading another arrow. She strecthed it back looking for another target.

Meden's hadn't noticed any foreign magic within his scope of "sight" but he did notice a sudden and rapid loss of energy, presumably by one of the guards, and went to check it out.

Desmond walked around and then looked at the trees. They were all tall and strong oaks. He remembered back when he was a little kid just flying over the wall some times and collecting different types of leaves...no trees grew on the Anguul mountain, and he was excited just by being near them. He wished there wasn't a war, that way he could run around through the forest without any need to worry about being shot by an arrow.

Ash held her breath as one of the soldiers passed by the treeline. She took aim with her arrow and looked up to make sure Xander had gotten his assigned guard. He was standing on the body as usual. Ash wanted tosaysomething but her attention came back to the now dangerously close anguul. She pulled back her arrow starting to aim it at the guy. To kill or not to kill. Ash pondered as he walked closer to her tree she backed up silently.

"Desmond?" asked Medens as he approached the anguul with a surprised expression. Stuff always seemed to place them next to one another. "Have you seen anyone dead or injured around here? I thought I felt a sudden drop in energy." Medens focused cautiously outward into the trees, looking for either the individual's energy he'd felt disappear earlier, or the enemy who had killed the soldier. Medens truly hoped that he'd find the former of the two.

"Uhhh....I honestly can't tell you. I was admiring the trees. I know it sounds stupid, but it's like...there aren't any trees near my country. That and dad being a big time general and everything, I don't get to see much of the outside world, and that means I see more sword training and class rooms than trees," Desmond said. He felt weird talking about his personal life, but it was nice to get it all out in the open.

Ash held her breath not making any noise. Its that idiot again. She thought looking at the two talking. Ash relaxed her arrow knowing if she shot one the other would know her position. She stepped back one for step causing a branch to snap. She cursed herself stiffening putting her hand over her mouth. Stupid! She yelled at herself internally. Well I'm dead now...

Desmond smirked and said," WE HAVE A WINNER!!" He flew fast into the trees and found an elf girl. He smiled and wrapped his black wings around her. "Hi! How are you? Waiitt....are you that elf lady that Medens was talking about??" He put his hand on his sword and tightened up his wings leaving little space between the two of them.

Ash struggled against the wings an arrow still in her hand.

" Let go of me or you won't be flying anytime soon!" She threatened looking wildly around for Xander. Where the hell did that guy go?! She wondered giving up shortly.

Desmond frowned and decided to go feral. He then grabbed the arrow and bit her hand. "I'm sorry about thish, but I cant have you shtabbing my wingsh!" he said as he clamped onto her hand. He then began to flap his wings, he grabbed her and flew up high. "Now, can we have a conversation without being savages?" he asked.

(They are high up enough to where if she stabbed him, they'd probably both die.)

(ouch?!?! you let go right???)

Ash cried out and held her hand close to her.

" I don't see anything to have a conversationa bout, you could either drop me and have me die from the impacked of hitting the ground, or turn me over to a superior to be killed." She said plainly. Ash held her head up to keep herself from looking down. Just don't look downwn I'll kill you, She told herself silently.

Medens was surprised by the sudden turn of events, but noticed yet another power signature in the vicinity. Taking out his rod, Medens rushed into the wooded area, ready for anything that could come at him. Or at least that's what he hoped.

"No, I'm not that kind of guy...actually I dispise this war! Don't you find it pointless?? My dad is a great general and everyone expects me to be like him, but after all the thinking I've done...why am I better than you? In truth I'm not, you deserve to live just as much as I do....but....it's war...I guess...I'd rather make friends than enemies. But...I'm guessing you don't feel the same, you wanted to stab me with that arrow, and I bit you..which was crude and I'm sorry about it. Now here we are in the air...so what is your thoughts on the war? What would you do in my position?" Desmond asked the elf woman. He looked puzzled, and confused. He really didn't expect to say what he felt but there it was...this war had no point, everyone on both sides knew it, but still they all fought it.

Ash fell silent thinking for a minute.

" I'm fighting because everyone expects me to." She said simply.

" We are fighting because the lower kingdoms want morebut the higher kingdoms don't want to give uip their way of life. Its simple really." She thoujght carefully about the last question. She knew the truth of what she thought would end in her own death.

" I don't know, you seem to be un wanting to kill. So if in your position I would just hand me over to someone else to avoid treason.

Desmond smirked and said,"See...we are fighting because we believed that you were coming to invade us. You see how messed up this war is??? As for handing you over to someone else, I say I will indeed, and I hand you to my friend Medens. He will decide your fate, life, death, or if we will turn you loose and deny seeing you anywhere near the camp." He flew down and landed in front of Medens smiling. He set her down and said,"Life, death, or should we let her go free?" He was still holding her wrist, but in a more friendly hold than a threatening hold.

I'm dead, I'm dead i died I'm dead. Ash thought after seeing who Medens was. Thats the idiot..., She said a coupleof silent prayers before looking from the Anguul to Medens. Ash was fighting herself from ripping her wrist away to take care of her bleeding hand but she stayed put out of fear of moving. Where are you Xander? She asked silently looking at the ground. Maybe he was already captured.

Meanwhile: Xander watched the anguul who held his commanding officer from a high tree. He debated shooting an arrow incase the other guy found his position. Maybe if i could shoot towo arrows at once like Ash tried to teach me....

Desmond looked at her and smiled. "Ok, how about we ease the tension a bit? I have a joke for you. What do you get when you cross a Foresstor and a flea collar?" Desmond said. He didn't show it, but he was growing fearful. He was trying to use Medens's emotions to let this girl go. She didn't deserve to be caught, but he knew deep down that if Mallik found them with her....she'd be put to death there on the spot...

(OOC: I'm going to take control of everyone for a bit to get us all out of this odd stalemate. If you need me to edit the post later then just tell me. :D )

Medens didn't know what to do, didn't know what to think. The girl from before was right in front of him, and she would no doubtedly have killed him if given the chance. "I, I just don't know..." He suddenly stopped when he felt a nearby change in energy and heard a whistling sound. On instinct, Medens created a small barrier around himself. An arrow flew to his position and bounced off the barrier. Medens could tell that if the barrier hadn't been erected, it would've pierced him through the heart. Desmond, however, wasn't that lucky, as a second arrow gashed his wing, leaving him injured and confused, letting go of Ash. Medens quickly shot a blast of electricity in the direction the arrows had come from and heard a pained yelp in responce. Ash had taken the opportunity to flee the scene and Medens rushed over to go heal his injured friend.

(OOC: Again, if anyone has any objections, please let me know.)

( I have no problems with this)

Ash held her injured hand tightly and ran deeper into the forest breathing heavily.

" Thank you Xander!" She yelled to wherever he was. Once she felt she was far enough she leaned against a tree and ripped off part of her sleeve using it as a bandage.

" Anguuls bite hard..." She mummbled wrapping up her hand.

Xander smiled and jumped through the trees until he found Ash.

" What you think not bad huh?" He asked a grin on his face.
