Final Fantasy: Incarcerated RP

Recommended Posts

Paul and Victoria popped up beside the gang and looked at Jared. "Well whereever you guys are going to go, count us in. We need an adventure in our lives, and we need to get into something bigger than singing." Paul said. Victoria then looked at Mariah and August. "So where are we going to go and what are we going to be doing?" Victoria asked.

Behind them in the shades, Aria was still lurking in the shadows and tried her hardest not to be seen. Noel came out to stand next to her, "So you are sure this is the right path to take to get her back?" Aria looked at him, "Look, I dont want her back, I just want revenge." Noel laughed, "Yeah, thats it."

(I'm really sorry I was gone for so long. It stinks not having internet, but the story progressed nicely without me.)

"Arrows or flames, huh? Well I've got an idea as to how I could handle either, so I guess it's really up to you, Mariah. I'm just looking forward to getting all of this mess over and done with," August responded.

Mariah looked back at August, forcing herself into composure. “Arrows, then. I’m good at dodging, and from what I can guess that door symbolizes, dodging will be an important skill to have.” She didn’t notice her voice was just a little more quiet and strained than usual.

“Um, so we have a problem now,” Jared told everyone upon seeing Paul and Victoria. “If all eight of us go in, at least one of the traps will definitely be activated. We could have three people go in two of the doors and two people go in one. That way, the groups will be a little more even, but two of the traps will activate. If we have two people enter two doors and four people enter one, then of course only one trap will be triggered, but the groups will be less even, which could also be dangerous. So the question is, who’s willing to activate a trap, and how do we want to divide up? If Chuck’s okay with it, I’m willing to activate the bear trap. Because how hard can that be?”

Mariah thought about this. She didn’t mind if the arrow trap was set off, because she felt that she could handle it. August seemed confident about it as well, but there was something that made Mariah want August to be able to finish Cain off and avenge Marcus, and he wouldn’t be able to do that if he got hurt. She looked at him questioningly.

August didn't want anything getting in the way of his defeat of Cain, but he also knew that he could handle the situation, whatever the situation was, better than some of the less experienced like Paul, Victoria, and Jared. Besides, how important was it really that he be the one to defeat Cain? What was important was that as many people as possible make it out of this alive. He was decided.

"I feel like it would be good if someone else come with Mariah and me into the arrow door. I'm fine with dealing with the problem inside, and I've got plenty of confidence in Mariah. The third person had better be prepared to handle the trap activating, though. Also, who's to say that the symbols aren't there just to mislead us? I've got a feeling he was telling the truth about the three person thing, but each symbol could be representative of someone else's path, or they could have nothing to do with the challenge inside. The groups of three had better be prepared for anything."

(Haha Not-with-a-whimper, do you mean Cain?)

Mariah nodded. August seemed to have a good plan. “You could very well be right about the symbols being misleading,” she said. “I guess more evened-out groups would be better.”

“Okay, then,” Jared said. “Now it’s just a matter of who’s going with whom. I’ll still go with Chuck, unless anyone else has a different idea. That leaves the four of you to decide.” Jared looked at Joy, Calder, Paul, and Victoria.

"Well for us, we can go in whichever way we need to. I actually don't have any problems with this as long as I go through with Victoria." Paul said. Victoria then looked at him and back at the others, "I have an idea. If these traps are through doors, then that means that there is a roof. So Paul and I can go in through the roof inside and then we can meet up with you guys from there." Victoria said. She knew that stating this idea was just a way to come up with something easier for the group.

Aria was getting mad about Noel. "Okay answer me this question, why did you even chose me to come to?" Aria asked him. Noel thought for a moment, "I guess I was just trying to help fix something, someone, that has been broken." Noel then waited for Aria's hateful response, but she instead looked at him. "I dont normally say this anymore, but thank you for trying to come and help me." Aria said. Noel smiled, "You're welcome."

"Going in through the roof would be a good idea except for the fact that the roof is super reinforced. The walls are as well. If we're going to get to Cain, we're going to have to use the doors. Good plan, though," stated August in response.

Victoria laughed, "Super reinforced is it? I think you have forgotten who you are talking to. Paul and I have the right people for the job, they can get through any type of reinforcedment." Victoria told him. Paul then took out his cell phone and called the people Victoria was talking about. "Yes, we need you to get here as fast as you can." Paul said and hunged up the cell phone.

"Well, I'm willing ot activate the bear trap." Chuck said. "What's the worst that could happen? Us get attacked by a bear? As I said earlier, we've dealt with worse."

Joy shrugged. "Calder and I will take the flame door, I guess. Is everyone ready to go? Calder, are you ready?" Calder nodded. "Yeah, but I can't shake the feeling this will be the last time I see anyone. I can't shake the feeling I'll..." Joy interrupted him. "Don't think like that. We'll come out alive. I promise you." Calder grinned slightly. "This is like those stupid movie cliches, isn't this." Cloud grinned. "Yeah. Well, if everyone's ready, we'll head out, I guess."

"I'm set," added in August as he gestured for Mariah to join him in stepping through the door marked with an arrow. "You two can go ahead and wait on your buddies with tools to arrive to get you through the steel reinforced walls or ceiling. It'll take them a bit to get here, though, and hours after that for them to make a hole large enough for you guys to fit through," he said to Victoria and Paul, trying to get them to see the futility of their hopes of passing up the trap doors. (Come on Xeveemon! What fun are traps if none of them are ever triggered? Be a sport! Mariah and August are going through the Arrow door, Jared and Chuck are taking the Bear door, and Joy and Calder are taking the Flame door. Your move. After you choose, though, we'll need Damion to tell us what happens.)

(Guess I'll enter then. And I'm using a display computer :P)

Joy walked towards the door. "No use wating around then, I guess." Calder folowed Joy into the door, the one with the flame on top. As they walked in, Calder still couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. Hey. Stop worrying so much. Calder realized it was Tidus's voice. Can't explain this feeling, Tidus. It's just there. Jot heard Cloud. So, trying to be the hero again, huh? Joy shook his head. Right back to you, Cloud.

(@Xeveemon: I’m not trying to be mean and gang up on you, but the point is that the traps can’t be triggered until three people enter a door. As of now, only two people are entering each door, so the traps won’t activate, and like Not-with-a-whimper said, where’s the fun in that? Besides, I think it’s Damion’s call whether there’s a trap in the roof, and whether the roof is even penetrable, since he’s the one who invented and planned out this elaborate warehouse/labyrinth. You could say it’s like he’s controlling another character, so he is the only one who has a say in how the warehouse works, though of course Not-with-a-whimper will be the one explaining it to us since Damion can't be online right now.)

Mariah followed August through the arrow door. Here we go... she thought.

Jared opened the door marked with the bear, stepped over the threshold, and turned to Chuck. “Ready?” he asked.

(Oh haha alright then. Well, Xeveemon, you're ultimately in control of your characters, so you make the call on where they go. I'm ready to get this show on the road! :D)

Mariah stepped into the room and glanced behind her, wondering if Paul or Victoria was going to follow her and August. Then she darted her eyes forward again. Nothing yet, she thought. I guess it's just because there are only two of us in here right now. Still, she couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

(And pretty much the same stuff for Jared LOL.)

Even with just August and Mariah entering the room, a trio of mechanized crossbows began shooting arrows at the duo at the same time in three second intervals. Since there was so little room to move, dodging them would be difficult. They could also see an assortment of holes in the walls which could be spraying the duo with arrows, but which currently weren't. Similarly, Jared and Chuck had entered into a pitch black room in which they could feel metal devices under their feet which weren't activated just yet and they could hear the vicious growling of a genetically enhanced bear. In the third room, with Joy and Calder, flames were bursting out from pressurized plates in the ground, but since there were so many obstacles to avoid in there, getting to the exit would be incredibly difficult. They could also see a number of spouts through which flame could easily come, but that weren't currently active. All three groups were trying to get to the stairwells at the back of their respective areas which would lead them each downward and into the labyrinth below.

(Those are the current challenges. Depending on which door Xeveemon chooses to have his characters enter, one of the additional traps will activate. May the odds be ever in your favor. Sorry, had to do it.)

"Okay, I have had enough. I am going to take control of you, and you are going to help." Noel said as he took control of Aria. Being controled, Aria waited a moment and looked to make sure Victoria and Paul wouldn't see her. Victoria looked at Paul, "Split Team Aplha" she said. Paul nodded and followed into team Jared and Chuck. "I can handle anything in nature." Paul said and took out his sword. Victoria went with team August and Mariah. Victoria drew her weapon and then said, "I can handle anything that is sharp." she said. When they weren't looking, Aria ran into team Joy and Calder. She drew her gun. "I'm Aria, just dont let Victoria and Paul know that I am here." Aria told them.

Chuck nodded and followed Jared inside. He heard the growling and said "Just as I thought, there's a bear in here." He took his gunblade and looked around, but coudln't see anything. "This is going to be difficult. However, it seems we haven't activated the trap yet, so let's move on before we do by just waiting."

(Am I standing on the plates, or have to avoid them? I'll assume I'm not on the plates. Tell me if I'm wrong.)

Joy watched as flames spouted up. "Gosh, this is gonna be hard. uh, Calder, you think you can put these out? Tidus has to do with water, right?" Calder laughed. "There's no water here." Joy laughed. "Come on Calder, if Cloud and Tidus had magic, we do too, right?" Calder shrugged. "Guess I could try." He aimed his hand at the flames. "Watera." A short water spout came out, but didn't affect the flames at all. "Damn." Calder put his hands beside his head. "Agility time. I'll get to the other side, Joy, you stay here. I'll see if there's a switch or something."
