Now, I know what your thinking. GameStop is one of the (if not, the) most cheap company in America. Because of this, you can save your shit-tons of cash by doing these tricks which I'll list below. I will also list if I have ever done it before and how many successful/unsuccessful tries I received.
Getting Replacement Copies of Broken Disc-Based Games for Free: [successful Attempts: 1/Unsuccessful Attempts: 0]
I've only needed to of done this once because I rarely ever have broken disc-based games. If you were wondering, it was Kingdom Hearts II (sad, yes) Now, onto the actual trick: After I discovered that my PS2 couldn't load Space Paranoids from my KHII disc, I thought to myself. Do the employee's ever check the disc if your returning a used game? They never have for whenever I returned used games, they only had whenever I had asked them too. So, I decided to put my theory to the test and it worked! I had bought and returned the game at different locations but, I don't think they'll remember you for returning a broken game. Now, here's a step-by-step guide on how to do this:
Step 1: Put your Broken Game somewhere you'll remember for now. (in this case, Super Mario Galaxy 2.)
Step 2: Go out and buy a used copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Step 3: Test your used copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2 in your Wii and play it for a bit, If it plays alright, skip to step 5. If it doesn't, go to Step 4.
Step 4: If your game is broken, just like your existing copy. Return it and try again with a different copy.
Step 5: If your game works successfully, plan a day within the seven day return policy to go back to a GameStop with your broken disc inside the case.
Step 6: Act as you were dissatisfied with the game or act like there weren't any problems with the disc and that you just was expecting to have the game to play differently while returning the broken disc, they most likely won't check the game disc.
Step 7: Walk out with your $44.99 in hand, as well as a working copy of one of the greatest games ever made at home.
