What's wrong with my iPod?!

Posted

I have an 8gb 4th gen iPod touch running on iOS 5.0.1. Ever since I updated it to iOS 5, safari has been crashing constantly. And it seems to be happening more and more frequently! Is anyone else having this problem and how can I fix it?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

I think your best bet would be to go to an Apple store if there's one close-ish to where you live. They'll check out your iPod and diagnose the problem for free. However, I'm not sure whether they'll fix it for free. :P

Maybe because your using a fourth gen iPod instead of fifth gen iPod?

Those don't exist

Well I would, but the lock button (the one on top) broke so I can't lock it or turn it off. Maybe I'll just let it die so it turns off.

Do you mean Safari spontaneously closes? Or do you mean you lose all your info (like Bookmarks) when it closes?

If it's the latter, then I'd consult the Apple Store.

If it spontaneously closes, then it just means you aren't letting it load enough, the webpage is too big, or that too much space is being taken up.

This is just based on observation; my Safari "crashes" on me a lot too, but it seems relatively fixable.

I'm joking, I would take your iPod to the Apple Store. But, arrange an appointment on Apple's website so you can be taken care of much quicker.
