I am an introvert. I tend to be very quiet and keep to myself a lot.

What about you guys?

Just in case you are wondering this is a definition of introversion.

The common modern perception is that introverts tend to be more reserved and less outspoken in groups. They often take pleasure in solitary activities such as reading, writing, using computers, hiking and fishing. The archetypal artist, writer, sculptor, engineer, composer, and inventor are all highly introverted. An introvert is likely to enjoy time spent alone and find less reward in time spent with large groups of people, though he or she may enjoy interactions with close friends. Trust is usually an issue of significance: a virtue of utmost importance to an introvert choosing a worthy companion. They prefer to concentrate on a single activity at a time and like to observe situations before they participate, especially observed in developing children and adolescents.[7] Introverts are easily overwhelmed by too much stimulation from social gatherings and engagement. They are more analytical before speaking.[8]

Introversion is not seen as being identical to shy or to being a social outcast. Introverts prefer solitary activities over social ones, whereas shy people (who may be extraverts at heart) avoid social encounters out of fear,[9] and the social outcast has little choice in the matter of his or her solitude.

And here is a definition of extroversion.

Extraverts tend to enjoy human interactions and to be enthusiastic, talkative, assertive, and gregarious. They take pleasure in activities that involve large social gatherings, such as parties, community activities, public demonstrations, and business or political groups. Politics, teaching, sales, managing and brokering are fields that favor extraversion. An extraverted person is likely to enjoy time spent with people and find less reward in time spent alone. They tend to be energized when around other people, and they are more prone to boredom when they are by themselves.

I'm a introvert

I think introverts and extroverts aren't really good labels because you can be an extrovert who convinces him or herself that they are introverted because of various reasons. I know from my experiences I used to improperly label myself as an introvert because I was shy at times, but that is just how willing you are to talk to new people. Yes that is a measuring factor into judging whether you are an introvert or extrovert, but I believe you can put yourself into a self-fulfilling prophecy of being an introvert when you can be extroverted. Not that there is anything wrong with being an introvert.

(Me) An introvert thinking out-loud::

Well, now that I think about it. As an introverted person, as much as I love spending time alone: I love being around extroverted people even more because I naturally find extroverted people very fascinating. On the other other hand I really hate it sometimes because their loudness and willingness to talk puts emphasis on my silence thereby making me look like a total idiot (since I have a tendency do things without talking....so I don't want to be mistaken as a deaf-mute or a weirdo...however put me in front of a piano and I shall cradle you with the language of my music).

And so I've noticed when I go out with huge groups of friends (whom are also mostly extroverts). Sometimes, I feel as though I don't exist because I don't talk alot by myself unless I am spoken to. There are times where I really ponder whether or not it was a good decision to have agreed to go out in the first place. But in the end I always never regret the decisions I make because I know I am spending time with the people who are dear to me. Afterall, for most introverts, friendship and trust are really big issues and losing friendship can be just as bad as being stabbed with a knife (in my opinion anyway).

Long story short: Introverts do also love being in the company of friends, despite their nature to hide away in the worlds that never was...so lets all enjoy some sea-salt ice-cream together in the setting sun :)
