Wi-Fi Pokémon Team - Which one do you use? (Comment and Strategy Thread)

Posted

So I've heard that a lot of people play Pokémon on Wi-Fi.

And with the Wi-Fi Pokémon Tournament coming up, all of our pokémons need some tuning.

So which Pokémon Team are you currently using on Pokémon Black and White?

Mine's like this now:

-Mienshao (Lead)

- Galvantula

- Alakazam

- Excadrill

- Zoroark

- (To be confirmed, either Skarmory or Blissey)

Mienshao's set:

- Fake Out

- Stone Edge

- Drain Punch

- U-Turn

Item: Normal Gem

Galvantula's set (pretty much the only set it can run):

- Bug Buzz

- Thunder

- Volt Switch

- Energy Ball

Item: Magnet

Alakazam's set:

- Focus Blast

- Shadow Ball

- Energy Ball

- Psychic

Item: Life Orb

Excadrill's set (a very rare one, but decided to do it):

- Stone Edge

- Brick Break

- X-Scissor

- Earthquake

Item: Life Orb

Zoroark's set:

- Flamethrower

- Focus Blast

- Night Daze

- U-Turn

Item: Expert Belt

What do you think?

Oh ok you edited.

But I still have 1 question

Why the Dual Chop on Haxorus?

Edited by Sora's Little Helper

Just one thing.

Espeon has Magic Bounce?

The rest is fine.

Yes? Entire point of having it xD Send it in on a suspected stealth rock or other entry hazards and status effects... and watch your opponent squirm in agony.

But i this is my former team... i spent quite a long time to make and got quite a few wins with it but... i dropped my DS T_T

A month of hard work gone to waste--- Still use this team on PO when i feel like it...

So you got your Espeon from the Dream World huh?

I still don't understand why can't I acess the Dream World :(

Well, this is what I used in the International Tournament, all have been raised and EV trained by me. Keep in mind, this team is for Double Battles.

But I still have 1 question

Why the Dual Chop on Haxorus?

Mainly because people still used focus sashes... And the fact that it has double the chance of getting crit hax.

Still Dual Chop doesn't have a high critical hit ratio.

You could put X-Scissor in it's place.

Six Pikachus, All with Light Balls and Surf.

Domination.

Six Pikachus, All with Light Balls and Surf.

Domination.

If you're playing in Gen 4, because Pokémons with HM moves can't be transfered to B/W from Gen 4.

But if so, FATALITY!

Politoed @ Iron Ball

Ability: Drizzle

EVs: 252 HP/ 252 SpA/4 SpD

Nature: Quiet

- Surf

- Ice Beam

- Encore

- Protect

A great guy, the bane of weather teams. With this spread he can outslow other weather Pokemon, my biggest problem. He hits Sun (rare) and Sand (semi-common) teams hard with Surf. Ice Beam is for Garchomp and others like him. HP Grass stops meddlesome Gastrodon. Protect allows him to survive the crucial first turn before deciding weather (get it?) to swap him out or not.

Posted Image

Excavalier @ Occa Berry

Ability: Swarm

EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD

Nature: Brave

- Megahorn

- Iron Head

- Substitute

- Protect

Stange guy, but after getting thrashed by him I have a newfound respect. He hits massively hard, and I usually keep him in the wings so that he doesn't fall too early. I've recently began putting him in the front, but I feel as if the battle moves too slowly with all the Protecting. Megahorn and Iron Head are obvious choices, and Double Edge is only there because of his horrible coverage. Protect allows him to survive turns when Trick Room needs to be used. Rain and Occa Berry assist in keeping him alive against Fire moves.

Posted Image

Amoongus @ Mental Herb

Ability: Effect Spore

EVs: 252 HP/ 4 Def/ 252 SpD

Nature: Sassy

- Spore

- Rage Powder

- Giga Drain

- Protect

The lovable mushroom and a VGC staple. He not only runs interference with Spore, but he protects Trick Room users. Giga Drain to attack and the other moves shouldn't need an explanation. The Rain reduces his weakness to fire, making him extra durrable.

Posted Image

Hitmontop @ Life Orb

Ability: Technician

EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD

Nature: Adamant

- Fake Out

- Close Combat

- Sucker Punch

- Detect

Speedy, sorta. Also good for hitting first and hard. I like using Hitmontop, but he doesn't seem to pull his weight. I considered replacing him for some other offensive Pokemon b/c there's nobody other than Excaliver that screams POWER!!!

--------------------------

Now is where I struggle. I want Trick Room Users, but I feel I need a stronger offense than Politoed and Hitmontop.

Musharna @ Leftovers

Ability: Telepathy

EVs: 252 HP/ 4 SpA / 252 SpD

Nature: Sassy

-Trick Room

-Psychic

-Helping Hand

-Thunder Wave/Toxic

A standard Trick Roomer, with extra skills up her sleeves. With Telepathy, Musharna can avoid Politoed's Surf Recoil and assist it with Helping Hand. Psychic is for when I hit a crisis moment, and Imprison is sometimes useful, but usually filler.

Posted Image

Jellicent @ Water Gem

Ability: Water Absorb

EVs: 252 HP/ 4 Def/ 252 SpA

Nature: Quiet

-Trick Room

-Water Spout

-Shadow Ball

-Ice Beam

A non Psychic Trick Roomer. That was what I needed most for this. Water Spout used in the Rain with Max HP is astounding, allowing Jellicent to fulfill an offensive role too. Shadow Ball and Ice Beam are standard coverage.

All of them are fine, but I don't get one thing.

Why does Politoed have an Iron Ball when he doesn't have a Ground type move?

You've got Iron Ball's effect messed up. It cuts the holder's speed by 50% and for Flying Types or Pokemon with Levatate, it allows them to get hit by Ground Type moves, meaning the holder. And it's kinda obvious, he uses it to make his Politoad even slower, so he can make sure he get's Rain.

Oh right.

Thanks for correcting me.

And your team looks good too.

Thanks. I looked at Smogon's guides for OU Pokemon and picked what I thought would be good. I bred for IV's, Nature, and Ability, then trained them and taught them the moves.

What about serebii.net?

I'm getting all the info I need for my pokémons from there.

And I never heard about Smogon's guides before.

Is it like serebii.net?

It's kinda like Serebii.net's Pokemon of the Week, but it has every Pokemon and seperates them in the Tiers.

I used to use Serebii.net, but it didn't have every Pokemon.

Yep, and it makes him "faster" under my Trick Room!

That too, lol. I actually created a team on Pokemon Online that had a Trick Room Reuniclus.

Looking at it right now.

It actually has a lot more than Serebii http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.png

I told you! lol Smogon is more geared toward Competetive Battling than Serebii is, so they have more stuff for it.

Lol, I was the same SLH. I had been on Serebii for years and was complaining about the lack of all the Pokemon, and then I stumbled upon Smogon. I use Serebii for game news, but always Smogon for movesets. I still enjoy POTW though.

But I sat with my mouth wide open trying to read all of the Pokemon on Smogon... It was impossible!
