Sister

4 am. It's 4 am in the morning. When was she planning on shutting up? I glare at the wall separating my room from my sister's. God, she's been on the phone with her boyfriend for at least three hours now. When was it going to end? I hear her shrieking with laughter as I turn the onto my other side, stuffing my head underneath the pillows. This was getting ridiculous. How was it that through my ear plugs, white noise machine and having my fan blasting in the middle of December not able to cover up the noise she made?

I was cold, every part of my body shivering even under three blankets. I had asked her three times politely to shut up and then just started to yell at her. But she didn't care what I had to say. She only cared about her dumb boyfriend. I think she's been like that for awhile now. She simply stopped caring about the one person she has known all her life. She's stuck in this fantasy world where only she, her phone and that stupid guy of hers live.

Then her laughter suddenly stopped. I open my eyes, hoping that this was finally the end of their conversation. But then her scream came bursting through the night. And I am sitting up in my bed, my eyes on the very thin wall separating us. I turn off my machine, my fan, and pull out my ear plugs. I hear her sobbing, her words indistinguishable. And my resent turns to sadness and shame.

I climb out of bed and open the door out into the hallway. I turn on the light and slowly, tentatively open the door to her room. She is sitting up, her face buried in her knees still crying. I see her cell phone, cracked and laying broken on the floor. I crawl into her bed and pull the sheets over me, coaxing her to lay down next to me. She is still crying into my shoulder about something I don't quite understand. I pet her hair and somehow her crying ceases after some time and is lulled into a deep sleep.

((reallllly short story I wrote...just wanted to hear some thoughts...>_> and no, I am not a very good writer...soooo yeah. ))

not bad! not much of a critique, but the part where you say: "I hear her shrieking with laughter as i turn the onto my other side,..." it should be said without "the" just before onto. lol sorry if i'm being dumb, just trying to help out.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it but unfortunately, there won't be a second part as it's sorta done. It's a short short story :-D
