In this world, lies four kingdoms. They are ruled by their kings. The four kingdoms did not use to exist. In the center off all four, lies the ruins of the center kingdom. There layed the kingdom of Technology. A kingdom based and lived on technology. One night, the king's four sons, who are now the kings of the other kingdoms. Lead an attack with their small army and defeated their powerful father and destroyed the kingdom along with technology. Now, many years later, the four kingdoms live in peace and harmony, but for what they don't know, is that a band of suriviors have gathered together with the remains of technology to destroy all four kingdoms. Now, the kingdoms have to band together once more, to destroy technology, or they will be wiped out one by one by technology.

5. No big technology. Like missiles, nuclear bombs, or anything that can make your character god-like.

Duo was impressed with Alexia's crystal technique, "Your crystals are too fragile huh? I think I can help you with that, let me try it," Duo made a small on of lightning between two of his fingers, "I'm gonna try to do the same thing as you, so hold on," Duo released the ball and let it float away a few feet. Duo snapped his fingers and in a crackling display, an electric blue crystal was floating in place of the small orb.

 

"Making things out of magic, for me at least, is all about give and take," Duo explained, "Using too much or too little can make all the difference. Too little and there's just enough magic to maintain its form, too much and is much harder to maintain it then. When I first made that ball of lighting, I predetermined view much magic went into my crystal, so I knew I could maintain it. Just conjuring it right away is harder to guess how much magic goes into what you're making,"

Alexia stared and thought for a while. "I see..."Alexia says. She stared at her staff and held it tightly. "I have to much to learn yet."Alexia says smiling a bit.S he then rubbed her eyes slightly. "I'm feeling a bit sleepy...lets rest along with the others,and train tommorow when we get the chance."Alexia says. She walked over to a spot and looked back at Duo. "Come on."Alexia says. She then did an outline on the snow and did one big square,as if seperating her personal space. "This is my bed."Alexia says. She then layed down on the snow and curled up into a little ball and held onto her staff like a teddy bear. She looked back at Duo. "night and sweet dreams. Rest well. We've got some way to walk tommorow."Alexia says as she closed her eyes and eventually fell asleep.

Duo yawned and sat next to the wall if the cave, resting his back against it. He heard a hiss to his left and saw Balis was at his side, after spying on Sync. The large lizard climbed onto Duo's lap and closed its eyes, immediately falling asleep.

 

Duo thought of his travels as he leisurely drifted to sleep. Duo's parents were court magicians to the King of the East Kingdom, and just as Duo has traveled around, learning from many different teachers, so did his parents. When Duo was born, a tragic illness had befallen his parents, so Duo had never really knew them.

 

Duo smiled just before falling completely asleep, "If only you could see me now," he whispered.

Morning eventually hit as the sunlight and the cold breeze started waking everyone up as the fire was out. Zeta opened her eyes and yawned and standed up and started clapping her hands.'' Alright everyone. I hope ya enjoyed your cute sleep, for it's gonna get worse from here on out. Climbing this mountain will require all of your strength.'' Zeta said. Noah standed up.'' Yeah yeah. Quit talking Cousin. just because your the Princess of the North doesn't make you special.'' Noah said as Zeta slapped the back of his head.'' Oh shut up. My old man will be glad to see you.'' She said getting her gear on. Noah silvered as he hated his uncle Amos. The king of the North. Noah say everyone wake up execpt Alexia. He then threw some snow on her.'' Wakey wakey.''

Sync woke up. He wondered for a brief moment about his location, but the last day's events slowly came back to him. Sync had a horrible nighmtare. It had flames, and a small village being consumed by it.

 

"So, it's going to get colder from here on out? Wonderful...." Sync grumbeled, if his coat failed so far, it would barely do anything to sheild against the colder temperatures of a mountain. Sync got up, stretching a little. With a yawn, he checked his armlets. Nothing unusual, Sync decided.

Alexia was fast asleep in a warm and comfortable dream when...BAM! COLD SNOW! Alexia shotted up awake. "GAH!!! I'm awake! I'm awake!!!"Alexia says. The cold snow had gotten her like cold water. She wasn't used to cold weather at all. This was gonna be a challenge. Hopefully she would get used to it soon. Alexia then calmed down and stood up. She took her staff and held it with doppy eyes a bit. She then walked out for a bit and saw the first rays of sunlight as the sun rose above the mountains. Alexia stared and closed her eyes. Her staff glew and seemed to be absorbing the sunlight from the raising sun. Alexia smiled and snuggled her staff slightly. "This feels great. I love the warmth..."Alexia says as she then held her staff normaly and looked back into the cave. "I'm staying here until we leave!"Alexia says not wanting to leave the wamrth.

Duo woke up with Balis lightly tapping his face with his tail, "Okay, okay Balis, I'm up already," Duo got up and stretched. He walked outside the cave and looked around, "I'm hungry..." he said looking to Balis, "Do you think you could get some good for everybody Balis?" he asked his familiar, who hissed and went off to find some small animal.

 

Duo noticed that Alexia was outside also, "Morning," he said to her, "I've sent Balis to find some food if your hungry," he told her

Alexia turned to Duo and smiled. "Morning."Alexia says. She heard him and then looked down a bit and petted her tummy slightly. "Well I am a bit hungry.Alexia says. She then heard her stomach growl loudly enough for others to hear. She blushed a bit in embaressment and smiled slightly. "Gah...Hehe...I guess a bit is a slight word to use...I do think I finished the bread I packed."Alexia says. She then looked at the sky and rose her staff as it glew still. "The sunrise rays are always the best. This is the time of day which I feel more powerful for some reason. Now and sunset. I guess its because they hit more directly."Alexia says as she then lowered her staff and it stoped glowing. Alexia then slightly hugged her staff. "Warmth~"Alexia says.

Zeta and Noah finished packing. Zeta walked out and put her scarf around her mouth and she handed Alexia a scarf.'' Take it. Your gonna need it.'' She said as another cold breeze hit. Noah shaked a bit as he got his jacket on. Zeta put her finger in the air and stood there. She closed her eyes and then opened them.'' We need to move fast. If we don't. Then we might get hit by the bizzard and it's no joke.'' Zeta said as she jumped and grabbed a part of the mountain.'' Met ya at the top. I say we have a good 1 hour before the bizzard.'' She said climbing.'' Well. I guess we should get going.'' Noah said as he grabbed a part as well and started climbing. In the distance, a man in a brown coat stood on a tree and vanish as he was watching them.

Sync looked to Zeta and Noah and nodded. Sync felt warmer, and sighed with relief. His cloak was finally kicking in, giving him a layer of warmth.

 

"How far are we to town? I don't want to be caught in a blizzard."

Alexia stared at the scarf. She really didn't like scarfs. she tried to wrap it around but it ended up tangleing around her staff. She tried to untie it but she ended up tangled even more. Eventually it only ended up being tangled all around her arms,neck and the staff. Alexia growled and the staff glew. The staff had crystals grow from its side s and it ripped the scarf in half. Alexia waved around and got the scarf pieces off her. She glared at what was left of the scarf and sillily talked to it. "You shall not sufficate me clothing of hell."Alexia says sillily as she slashed it one last time and stepped on it. She then looked back up at Zeta. "The scarf and I had a very nasty disagreement!"Alexia says. She then looked at Duo. "Duo,we might have to eat later on. If Zeta's right,then we might need to hurry before we get caught in the blizzard."Alexia says as she started to climb a bit,being careful. She looked back at Duo and waited for him.

Duo laughed as Alexia struggled with the scarf, "Alright, lets go then, Blais will be able to find us as we go along,". Duo followed Zeta and Noah, going up further into the mountains. They weren't kidding when they said it was going to get colder, chilling gusts blew Duo's coat, making it billow about giving it the appearance of a cape.

 

A bush meant Alexia began to rustle rather abruptly, it was Balis, who had a couple of large birds in his jaws, "Thank goodness, I'm starving," Balis dropped the birds and climbed into his master's coat for warmth. Duo snapped his fingers, making a lightning bolt fall from the sky and strike the birds, quickly and effectively cooking them. Duo grabbed two sticks and jabbed on of them for himself and another for Alexia, "Dig in, Balis should of already gutted these birds and cleaned them as well," he told her, biting a chunk of meat off

Alexia took the bird as her mouth almost watered. "Oh wow. Thanks Duo!"Alexia says. She took a bite out of the bird. It was crispy and well cooked. Delicious. She swollowed her piece. "Aw man this is good."Alexia says as she nomed on the rest of the bird. She climbed up the mountain. The terrain was getting harder to climb as the higher they got. The temperature kept dropping. Alexia was eventually getting used to the cold. She was still shaking without control,as her breath could be visible. But she didn't minded to whine about it anymore. She ate the last piece of the bird,enjoying it. It was warm and tasty. This warmed up her stomach,and that warmed her body a bit,which was more than enough for her. She looked back at Duo. "Thanks Duo,that was delicious,and you too Balis. You were the one who hunt them out after all."Alexia says as she climbed.

Zeta and Noah got to the top of the mountain as the kingdom was visble.'' Welcome to the North kingdom!'' Zeta said as she saw Noah and the others got to the top.'' Now, let's get to the sign up building.'' Zeta said as she walked off. Noah looked at the others.'' I suggest we get there if we want to sign up.'' Noah said following Zeta. The bizzard was hitting the base of the mountain.'' I'm glad we got here in time.'' Noah said as he entered the building. As they entered, they saw many fighters from the four kingdoms. Noah saw some from the south, west, east, and north. He then got to the counter and signed up.'' Number 20 huh? I guess that's good.'' Noah said as he turned around.'' The tourney starts in a few hours. Glad we got here in time.'' Noah said as he sat next to Zeta.

Sync lent against one of the building's walls, thinking. He pondered about signing up for the tournament. Sure, he was good with a spear and fire. But he was sure the others were far better than he was. There was even more of a chance he would be discovered. Another thing was he couldn't figure out what Kingdom he would sign up as. If he was to sign up as a South Kingdom warrior, he would be unable to use fire for the sake of cover. And vice versa.

 

"Why did I even bothr to come?" He muttered, sighing even more.

Duo was at the sign-up counter, he had just got his number for the tournament, 24, when Balis had poked his head of it Duo's coat, calling attention to the counter worker, "Excuse me, but what is that?" she asked Duo.

 

Duo looked quizzically at her and then a Balis before saying, "Oh, this is Balis, he's my familiar," he explained to the counter worker, who shook her head, "I'm sorry, but rules state that if your going to compete, your familiar cannot compete with you, for safety reasons. We'd rather not let your familiar be injured," she explained. Duo was very disappointed, "Oh, well if those are the rules..."

 

Duo walked over to where everyone else was waiting and say down, "I'm sorry Balis, looks like you'll have to sit this one out," he told the lizard who his sadly, "Alexia, when I go out to complete, could you please watch Balis, he's not so well behaved on his own, especially when he gets disappointed like now," Balis had then crawled out of Duo's coat and gently crawled onto Alexia's shoulders

Alexia sighned up and had a number. "Number 23. Sweet~"Alexia says. She then looked over to Duo and heard him. She then looked over at Balis. She smiled and petted Balis. "Sure. Why not?"Alexia says. She then got her hands to her hips. "It doesn't seem very fiar though. Balis should have the rights to fight along with you,as your parthner."Alexia says. She then sighed. "Oh well."Alexia says. She looked around. Everyone was juts talking,some showing off their skills to others,some were just standing and resting,checking out the competition. Alexia satted down on a chair and looked over to Balis and smiled. "You're actually pretty cute."Alexia says as she rubbed his head slightly and then scratched his troath,where some animals would find it like a good scratching spot. Alexia turned to Duo. "I wonder what will be the prize for the winner of this whole thing. Many people did came and all."Alexia says as she petted Balis. She then looked up at Sync who was a bit far away from the rest, "Sync,aren't you gonna sighn up too?"Alexia asks.

Sync, tired of moping, went up to the sign-up desk. A very sweet yet old looking receptionist sat there.

 

"Hello....um, sir. Care to sign up for the Northern Kingdom tournaments?" The lady asked, mostly confused as to Sync's attire.

 

"Yes." Sync replied, taking the form handed to him. Sure enough, they ask my home Kingdom. Great. Sync thought a moment, before scribbling Southern Kingdom. This would mean Sync would focus more on his spear and swords, and could not rely on his fire.

 

With the form completed, Sync handed the form back. The receptionist looked at it quizically, then looked at Sync.

 

"Your from the South? Your clothing....is...interesting for that place." The lady said.

 

"Family thing." Sync said. He took his number- 25.

"Its fine, I'm more than capable of fighting by myself," Duo smiled at the sight of Balis being petted, "He seems to really like you," Balis was really enjoying himself, and went from Alexia's shoulders to her lap

Duo chuckled a little them looked at all the people around them, "I wonder how many people are here,"

Noah looked around as they heard the judge talking.'' Hello everybody. We are glad to welcome you to the Kingdom Brawl. Now, the pairings have been made. These are the people who will be fighting in the first round.'' The judge said as he had a picture appear.

Noah stared at Wrath. He was from the west, he had claws on his hands to enhance his pysical combat, a red bandana around his head, black short hair, green eyes, and west clothing on him.'' Huh, this Tournment is gonna be more fun then I thought it would be.'' Noah had said as smiled. Zeta looks at Neku as he was from the South as well. Two swords on his back, semi long brown hair, black pants, a white jacket, red eyes, and he had a scar running from his right eye to his bottom jaw.'' I hope Alexia and Duo have fun.'' She said.

Alexia stared. "Aw man. First match and I already have to fight against someone I know?!"Alexia asks as she stared at the names. She whimpered and looked over at Balis. "Sorry Balis,someone else will have to look after you."Aexia says as she rubbed his head. She then picked him up and looked around. She turned to Duo. "We'll have to ask someone else to watch over dear Balis,since we're going to compete against eachother."Alexia says. She then turned down and then looked back up. She looked over at Duo and smiled. "No hard feelings in the match right?"Alexia asks smiling. He was more experienced than she was. But that didn't meant that she wasn't gonna try. Alexia looked back at the names witch were just floating in the sky infront of the man. She sighed slightly and held her staff. "(Will have to give it all I've got,hopefully not letting any hard emotions out and harming anyone.)"Alexia thinks as she then looked at Duo and smiled. "Since we're at the top of the list,seems we're first."Alexia says.

Duo started at the names wide eyed, "Well, that's certainly interesting," He turned to Alexia, "Yeah, no hard feelings, but I hope you don't expect me to go easy on you," Duo reached out his arm for Balis to climb on to, but Balis wouldn't come to him, "Balis? Oh don't you go and switch sides on me!" The familiar made an odd hiss and climbed onto Duo's shoulders, it sounded like Balis was laughing, "Man, you just love to mess with me don't you?"

Sync looked around until he saw whom he presumed to be Zero, a tall, brooding boy that resembled Sync in a way. Like Sync, Zero was quiet, and lent against a wall. However, Zero did not wear a mask. Zero's hair was dark black and short. His eyes were the scary thing- they were red. A scary shade of red. Especially when Zero stared right at Sync, making Sync nervous.

 

Zero was an obvious swordsman, as he had a long sword sturng across his back. Zero immediately got up, and strolled over to Sync. He hled out his hand.

 

"Name's Zero. Can I guess you're Sync? Nice to see another Southerner....But where's your weapon?" Zero looked at him, making Zero seem alot mroe cheerfull and friendly.

 

"It's...um, enchanted. A friend enchanted my spear so I can summon it at any time."

 

"Oh that's neat." Zero said. "I can't wait to see how you are in the tournament. We're second. So, I'll see ya later."

The time came for the first competitors to start, so Duo was lead to a sort of locker room that lead to the arena where he and Alexia would complete. Balis was left with Noah and Zeta, but it took awhile because Balis had become quite attached to Alexia, and wanted to stay with her.

 

Duo walked out to the arena, hearing the huge clamor of the crowd that eagerly waited for the tournament to start. Duo took his place in his corner of the large arena, which was a slightly raised platform comprised of many tiles. The tiles were designed with the crests of the four Kingdoms, Duo stood in the center of a tile with the East Kingdom crest. He looked across the arena and waited for Alexia and the announcer to begin three tournament.

Alexia stared at the mirror. "Alright. give it all you've got. No holding back. Just another challenge,right?"Alexia asks to herself,trying to give herself confidence. She then sighed and looked down. "I'm gonna fail."Alexia says. Suddenly she looked up and saw a girl standing there. "We're waiting for ya."The girl says. Alexia noded. She walked out of the room and then down the hall. She could see that upfront was the arena. She breathed and wwalked out. She looked around her and could see the huge crowd cheering and all excited for the tornument. "Whoa."Alexia says as she walked around. She stood in a tile and looked upfront to see Duo standing there. She slightly chuckled nervously and waved slightly. The AC then walked up and stood in a balcony. "Welcome one and all to the Annual Tornument of the Kingdoms! This year we have the great honor to have it hosted right here,at the North Kingdom!"The AC says as he threw a punch into the air. The crowed cheered louder. "Here are the tornument rules! Each competitor represents the Kingdom which they come from,therefor they will have to fight in the style which their kingdom specializes. Illegal fighting,like ear bitting,or hair pulling is not allowed. The battle ends when either of the competitors is unable to battle any longer. For the first match. We have Alexia VS Duo,both from the East Kingdom! So all of you be ready,cause I have a feeling neither of them are gonna hold back any punches!"The AC says. The crowed cheered even more. The AC smiled and rose a black and white flag. "Ready....set..."The AC says. Alexia got her staff ready. "FIGHT!"The AC says as he swung his flag. Alexia rose her staff and it glew brightly. She swung it and some slashes of light went directly at Duo.
