CHAPTER 1: LIFE TAKES A TURN

Jarry begin his morning like always. He reached school and was in his first period class. The school year had started over again, and he was now in the tenth grade. The class was filling in one by one. Jarry had arrived first since he liked to have time to write in his journal. He looked around as people filled in the classroom. He saw that some of his friends had come into the class, but he just smiled at them and kept writing.

Alison was at her new locker getting it ready for the year. She always made sure that her locker had some style to it. She finished by putting a picture of her family. "There, a new year, a better look." She looked at the time, "Time for class." She said. She walked to her classroom and went inside. She looked around at everyone while she was coming in. She then noticed a boy writing in a journal. She sat down beside him and pulled out her notebook. She started drawing a picture of a rose.

Night/Draco powered off his beams. "Yes, I am well aware of what a fairy tale is. Supposedly, I AM ONE!"

"I am afraid I can't answer that. The only one who can answer that is yourself. But surely enough people will die for their blood when during with a vampire. The only way for them not to die is for the vampire to only eat animal and sparkle in the sun light." Alison giggled. "Anyways, what did he look like, you know, in vampire form." Alison asked.

'Man, I hate those fortune cookie responses...' Night thought. He then adressed Alison's question. "Well, apparently you've read Twilight, so I'll put this in terms that you would understand: He wasn't a sexy emo vampire, if that's what you're asking. For one thing, he got taller, and wings came out of his back!" Night shivered at the memory. He grew horns, and his body got wider, even his face and mouth! He grew claws, and naturally he got these big fangs!" He shook his head. "I didn't even expect some of that."

"So no Robert Patterson?" Alison asked as she laughed. "So did you happen to get any key information about the monster, the wolf, etc?" Alison asked.

NIght leaned back, putting his hands behind his head and his legs crossed on the table. "More like riddles and mere hints than anything. Apparantly, the wolf is someone "Jarry wouldn't let us hurt in a million years." Also, the wolf isn't going to attack the party, the same guy who put Matt under his control is going to attack it. He also said something about how we're the five "Destined" or whatever, destined to bring peace to the world blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda, you get the picture. It sounds like Digimon, if you ask me."

"So the monster isnt Jarry, thank the lord. Let me ask you this, is there someone you know that Jarry likes?" Alison felt weird asking this question. She want an answer for two reasons, to answer the riddle and most important to just know.

Night thought for a moment. Or at least pretended to. Finally, he said, "Well, I think that he likes you. After all, on the roof, he suggested bringing you with us, to which I could find no logical reason to do so unless he wanted you by his side. And after that when he met you after school by his car, I saw him, er, "prettying" himself up in the mirror right before you arrived. So I'm pretty sure that he definetly likes you. It might be a little soon to bring this up to him, just on the off-chance that I'm wrong and that he might not process it after that scare I gave him last night." He laughed a little. "He had it coming, though..."

Hawk stepped to the door, his long hair where all messy, and his T-shirt full of stains of.. what ever the heck that was.

His eyes where all red from the blood, and he didn't shave so a short blonde beard showed on his chin and cheeks.

He held up a small box filled with silver powder.

"I did it!"

Then he fell over and started to sleep.

Night stared at Hawk in bewilderment just briefly, before turning his attention back to Alison. He shrugged. "Leave him. He'll be fine when he wakes up, and even if he's dead, at least I get his crossbow and money." He calmly took a sip out of a cup of water he just poured. "So, where were we again?"

"Did what? Did I miss something?" Alison asked. Her face then turned red as she thought that there was a chance that Jarry might like her. "So anyways, what scare? I think I missed a full night of events." Alison said.

Night sat down and took another sip of water. 'Yep, she likes him,' he thought. He heard a familiar yawn in his head. 'Yaaaaaawwwnnn...G'mornin, bud, how's it going?' Night sighed. He knew better than to answer. Keeping his poker face, he said, "Well, let's just say that I was wrong, but had evidence to support that I was right, so I jumped to a conclusion." He sipped his water again. "It's a long story." 'Plus, she'll kill you,' Draco added. "Plus, she'll kill me," Night repeated out loud. Then he realized what he just said. He tried to steer towards a different subject. "So, you like Jarry, huh?"

  • Author

"Wah, no, no, how could I like a guy I just met? Anyways, you were wrong about what and jumped to the conclusion of what? I have to know the whole story, whether you want to tell it or not, I have to know what you did to my, I mean what happened to Jarry." Alison said.

Night sighed. "And Jarry said the same thing, so I think that confirms that you both are crazy for each other." He looked up. "Oh, Lord, help..." he said as he gulped. He looked back at Alison. "Let's just say, I thought that maybe Jarry was the wolf. I pieced the evidence and events together and they all seemed to fit into a finger that pointed towards him. So I crashed through his window like a boss, and put a knife to his throat and an unloaded shotgun to his head, demanding the truth. Then Hawk came, Nessa came, and Matt, his brother, came. Everyone but me left, Matt tried to kill me, so here we are. Any questions?" He took another sip of water.

"You basically attacked Jarry? Man if it werent for my master's number one rule, I would so use my sword against you. So what did you find out about Jarry, is he a were or not?" Alison asked wanting the answer to be no.

"I would've told you I killed him if he was the beast," Night said. "And I did not 'basically attack him!' " he protested.

  • Author

"Oh yes you did! Anyways, so he isnt a werecreature?" Alison asksd.

"No, he isn't a werecreature, and what I did was interrogate him at gunpoint. There's a difference!" Night said.

  • Author

"Any way you want to look at it, you only made the wrong move. I dont think I will be able to forgive you for a while. Now I came to report something I found. Okay I went back to that treehouse that we found, and what I found was shocking. At the school dance, there is supposed to be a fight between the evil beast and the good wolf, this is supposed to happen to distract everyone from the true mastermind's evil plan, that part I yet to figure out. So the point is we need to find out who the evil beast and the good wolf are and stop them from causing a fight against each other so we can stop the true mastermind." Alison said.

"Well, I'm sure that Hawk was working on a something to help us with that," Night said. "All we have to do is wait for him to wake up." He then moved to Hawk and poured his remaining water again. "Wake up!'" he yelled.

"I'm sinking, I'm sink--"

Hawk woke up.

"Oh, I wasn't drowning at all." Then he got tired again and yawned.

"I'll be right back."

He went into the house and the sounds of a machine where to hear.

He came back with a cup of coffee and a cigarette.

"Breakfast how I like it..." he said with a british accent.

Then he laughed.

"Oh of course..."

He put the cigarette in his mouth so he had a free hand, and picked up the powder.

"If we manage to pollute the air conditioning in school with this, the guy we are looking for should be suffering a bit, either he'll run to the school nurse or out of the school, it would be best if Jerry won't be present at that time..."

He passed the powder to Night.

"Be careful with that, it took me the whole night to make, and silver isn't cheap."

He took a deep breath of his cigarette, removed it from his moth and drank some coffee, then he exhaled.

Nessa walked to Hawk's house. "I thought I might find you here." she said, sitting down on a nearby chair. "So I'm guessing that's the powder?" she asked, pointing to the box Hawk handed to Night.

  • Author

"Um guys two questions, what powder and why should Jarry not be around when it is used?" Alison asked.

"Silver powder"

Hawk smiled as he inhaled.

"Super effective on every child of the moon... I can do the same with dried holy water, for children of the night..."

Hawk started using names that the order of the Shadowslayers has given the inhuman creatures, that proved that he has studied the Novels of his ancestors all night.

"I first saw that Jerry scared back as I just put a silver knife on his hand, according to the novels it won't kill the wolf but leave it ill, paralyzed, or running out of the school, that's our time to strike..."

Hawk was absent while Jerry's brother revealed his identity, but through his own blood he could smell that Jarry's brother was not human.

  • Author

"Wait I am confused, why would Jarry back away from you and get scared when you placed a silver knife on his hand?" Alison asked.

"Weren't you there? At his balcony where we tried to check if Jerry was a werecreature...

He was totally scared..."

Hawk tried hard on remembering last night.

  • Author

"No, I went home after we were done in the woods. So I will ask only one more time, what happened last night and how does it involve Jarry?" Alison asked with a serious look on her face.
