CHAPTER 1: LIFE TAKES A TURN

Jarry begin his morning like always. He reached school and was in his first period class. The school year had started over again, and he was now in the tenth grade. The class was filling in one by one. Jarry had arrived first since he liked to have time to write in his journal. He looked around as people filled in the classroom. He saw that some of his friends had come into the class, but he just smiled at them and kept writing.

Alison was at her new locker getting it ready for the year. She always made sure that her locker had some style to it. She finished by putting a picture of her family. "There, a new year, a better look." She looked at the time, "Time for class." She said. She walked to her classroom and went inside. She looked around at everyone while she was coming in. She then noticed a boy writing in a journal. She sat down beside him and pulled out her notebook. She started drawing a picture of a rose.

Night/Draco powered off his beams. "Yes, I am well aware of what a fairy tale is. Supposedly, I AM ONE!"

"Come on, you're not useless," Night said to Hawk. "You know more about monsters than we do, and besides, you're the only one among us who can shoot things." He looked at Nessa. "What type of alchemy can you do? The potions type, or the one where you clap your hands, slam them into the ground, and a spear comes out?"

Hawk laughed.

"Yeah 'Shoot things' that's true..."

Hawk looked over to Nessa.

"Well it would be helpful if she could at least assist me in making the silver powder..."

"I'm sure I'll be able, Hawk. And Night, probably potions." Nessa answered. "Okay, so the dance is tonight, what are we going to do, exactly? Everyone's here now, we need to think about details."

"Well me and Alison are supposed to fight while the mastermind is supposed to make a move, so what if we stage it. When we are fighting, Night you go find this dude using your dragon sense. When you find him, make him battle you. While he is in a fight, Hawk and Nessa, you two fill the entire area with silver powered and make it effect everyone. Matt will use a vampire spell that wont effect us. Then Alison and I will go in still fighting and get close enough to our villain. Then Night will hold our villain down and we will stop fighting. I am pretty sure he will be masked so Hawk and Nessa take his mask off the reveal who the guy is. Then me and Alison will use our powers along with Night, and the guy will be knocked out cold. Nessa, you will make a spell to lure him into a deep knock out and we will take him into further questioning. Also during the party, we will keep each other in check with our cell phones. Appearantly, they do not signal monsters like some people say." Wolf Jarry said.

"Oh, I like this plan!" Night said, punching his fists together. "Especially the part where I fight the main man. Why bother to question him though?"

"Let me answer that with a question. Why would someone go to a school dance with the plan of making a move if he wasnt planning something even bigger? Of course this dude would have to have follow up plans, which means we must find out what these plans are so we can stop them. No one works alone." Wolf Jarry said.

Night nodded in agreement. "True. Leave the interrogation to me. I'm sure Draco can teach me something. Even if he can't, I've got ways," he said, grinning. "So, let's get this show on the road!"

"Wait, first thing first, this is a costume party, we need to have costumes. Anyone got any or knows of a place to get some?" Alison asked.

(J dont care where or how, but the costumes have to be related to our characters powers or something relating to them.)

"I know of a place that has everything. It's called Wal-Mart," Night said.

(OOC:Can't I just wear a suit and mask? I can't think of a costume that resembles my powers besides Barney the dinosaur)

(Well I think that would be fine, you could also use a dragon eye mask.)

"No, this is too big of a plan to go Wal-mart. We need one of those special stores made for this type of stuff." Alison said.

"Party City?" Night suggested. "Spirit?"

"Do you know where we live? This is not Dallas, this is Atlanta. We need some place big, wait thats it. Just give me all your sizes and I will get the outfits, you are coming too Jarry." Alison said. "Yes, Ally." Wolf Jarry stated like he had no choice.

Night wrote down his size on paper. "Here," he said.

"As long as I don't have to kill a human I'm fine... I'm not good with american sizes... I think I'm medium.." Hawk responded.

"Just give me some vampire slayer outfit or something... It'll be fine..."

Hawk was looking forward to that night, he was relieved that he didn't make the silver powder for nothing.

Nessa took out a scrap of paper and wrote her size on it. "Here's mine. I think you can guess which costume I am." she replied, handing the paper over. I'm getting more excited and anxious by the minute.

"Okay, meet us at Jarry's house two hours before the dance at 6 o'clock. Come Jarry." Alison said walking out. Jarry turned back into human and followed behind.

Hawk was leaving to make more of the powder, even through he knew it would end in a huge explosion.

"See you later, it's good to know that I don't have to go through this alone."

The Shadowslayer said

"See ya," Night said. He spread his wings and flew home.

"I guess I'm heading home too." Nessa said, heading to the door. "Of course, I'm the only one who doesn't have an amzing exit." she muttered, getting out her car keys and heading home.

Later on that day, "Thanks again granny!" Alison said as she and Jarry left her grandmother's house with the outfits. "I still cant believe your grandma was able to make five outfits all in three hours." Jarry said. "Well, she was born to make. Now we need to get these to your house without them getting ruined." Alison said. "Right." Jarry said. They then got into the car and drove to Jarry's house.

Hawk was at home after buying 2 packs of cigarettes.

As he entered the old house he saw that his mother's wheelchair was vacant.

"Mother? Mom?!"

He rushed through the house searching every corner, finally he found her lying in her bed.

"Is everything alright?" He asked a bit hysterical.

"It's OK... I just feel a bit weak..."

"Did you take your medicine?"

"Yes, yes why do you always worry so much..."

"Because you are my mother!"

The lady laughed faintly.

"That's my boy... just seventeen and already joined the order... do you know about the age of other Slayers when they joined?"

"Yes... about 40..."

"So you did your study... promise me you study as hard for school as you do for the order... But you're different from the other slayers... they where old Doctors that just followed the theory of the living dead... but you can actually feel them..."

Hawk held his mother's hand.

"Don't push yourself too hard my son... I know you're hunting right now..."

"How did you figure out?" Hawk asked.

"I'm a Nighthunter... the opposite to the order... we are just strategists... assistants of the shadowslayers..."

"I- I didn't know about your order..."

"that's because we are not an order.. just a bunch of hunters and planners roughly thrown together, never appearing in the history books..."

"Sleep now, you know I won't disappoint the you or the order..."

Hawk's mother did as told and closed her eyes.

The Shadowslayer crunched with his knuckles and got to the alchemy laboratory.

Night was at home meditating. That was how he communicated with the dragon. 'So, what do you figure our chances of survival are?' he asked. 'Hmmm...' said Draco. 'It depends on how the plan gets executed. This is very exciting. You're father never got into anything this deep.' 'What happened to dad?' 'The same thing that happened to your mom. And now you need to take vegeance. Dragon style. Let me teach you another trick or two...'

A knock came over Night's house. "I wonder if he is here, he is going to love the 'forgive me' present." Matt said as he kept on knocking at the door.

Night opened his eyes. 'Maybe it's Nessa,' he thought. 'Or maybe not. I wasn't expecting anybody.' He pulled out his rapier a little, and opened the door, seeing Matt. "Oh, it's you. Hey," he said. "Come in. What do need? You're not here to kill me, are you?" He laughed after that part. "So, what brings you here?"

"Well I kinda have a special surprise for you." Matt said coming in. He then pulled out an outfit. "Tada! I thought that I could help you with tonight, Jarry was a bit cumsly and dropped your first outfit in mud walking from the car to our house. So I made a little magic happen, and made you this special outfit. I know you like Nessa, and so I made this outfit for you to steal your identity for one dance with her, and then I made a second outfit for you to battle in. Think of this as a 'I am sorry for what I did' gift. I know I still have feelings for her, but she probably likes you more, so I am okay with it. I am sure I will find someone else." Matt said.
