CHAPTER 1: LIFE TAKES A TURN

Jarry begin his morning like always. He reached school and was in his first period class. The school year had started over again, and he was now in the tenth grade. The class was filling in one by one. Jarry had arrived first since he liked to have time to write in his journal. He looked around as people filled in the classroom. He saw that some of his friends had come into the class, but he just smiled at them and kept writing.

Alison was at her new locker getting it ready for the year. She always made sure that her locker had some style to it. She finished by putting a picture of her family. "There, a new year, a better look." She looked at the time, "Time for class." She said. She walked to her classroom and went inside. She looked around at everyone while she was coming in. She then noticed a boy writing in a journal. She sat down beside him and pulled out her notebook. She started drawing a picture of a rose.

"Yeah, Matt is giving me a really bad feeling. Where did he go?" Nessa asked herself, suddenly realizing he'd slipped from her line of view. "Headache? That's never good." Where did he go? That question was bugging her more than it should.

"I always did regret sparing his life," Night said ruefully, fighting the growing migraine and aggression.

Amy then came out on stage and sat down in a chair. "I'm going to pick things up, if that is okay. This song goes out to all my pumped up kids." Amy said as she smiled and began to sing:

While she was singing, Matt was on top of the area looking down at everyone. He had a rolled cigarette in his mouth and had a six shooter gun out and trying to find his targets.

(So, is Night still going to go psycho?)

(He will later on, but for now he is back to hisself.)

Night narrowed his eyes and peered at Matt and Amy out of the corner of his eye. "So, what are we going to do?" he asked.

Matt had gotten his first target and got into position to shoot.

Night looked around. He didn't see Matt anywhere. "Crap, I've lost him," Night said. He looked around again. "Do you see him anywhere?"

Nessa looked acroos the room, but she didn't see Matt either. "No." She was started to feel agitated, and that song wasn't helping either. Wait a second. . ."Night," she hissed. "She's singing about a shooting at a school, we are in a school, and I don't see Matt anywhere." She looked at the crowd. "We should get them out of here."

Suddenly as the song ended, a loud explosion came from the middle of the room hurting 19 people head on. "Target received package, you're turn." Matt said on his cell phone.

"@#$%!" Night looked around. "Who did that? Wait, that's what the song was about? That's just sick!" He drew his rapier and scowled. "Well we already lost 19 dudes, so what do we do now?"

"I don't know." Nessa's skin tingled where the knives were hidden under her sleeves, but she didn't take them out, not yet. She knelt by one of the people who were injured, whispering a simple healing spell. "You're going to be fine." she assured. "Where's Alison and Jarry? We need to find them." Nessa said, coming back over to Night.

"Yeah," Night said, "I don't see them either. You don't think that they were caught in the blast, do you?" He replaced his rapier with a large two-handed greatsword in the design of a dragon wing. "But first, I believe that I have some unfinished buisness wit Matt," he said, glowing yellow.

Soon red lights were going off through the area and everyone was panicked. "People, people, calm down! There is no need to be afraid. For you see tonight, you are our dinner!" Amy said as she was still on stage. She then started singing "Pound the Alarm" and a group of people went behind her.

 

Matt was going down the top row of stairs where Night could be able to see him.

The yellow glow in Night's eyes flashed and grew more intense. "You!" he spat. Sending a burst of energy from his legs, he jumped straight forward towards Matt. "GRAAAAAAH!" Night screamed, pointing the point of his sword toward Matt.

Matt simply moved out of the way.

Night's eyes widened. "Aw, CRAAAAAAAAAAA-" He never got to finish. He crashed straight through the wall, crumbling it. "Ouch," he said weakly.

"Night!" Nessa yelped, running toward Matt, drawing her knives, though not as quickly as Night. She stopped in front of him, glaring. "You," Her voice quavered with hate. "What did you do?"

"My job" Matt said before he ended up on the other side of Nessa and had slashed at her with a sword as black as night yet as white as snow.

Night tried to get up, but the crash made him weak, and his eyes went in and out of focus. "No! Nessa-behind you!" he called. He put his hand out to Matt. "Ryuhameha(Dragon Destruction Wave)!" he cried, shooting a beam of energy towards Matt out of his hand.

Matt disappeared before the attack could hit and then reappeared at Night's throat with a dagger. "I suggest you don't do that again." Matt said spitting on Night's face.

Night simply stared at the dagger. Then he realized he had spit on his face. "Oh no you didn't," Night said. He breathed fire at the dagger, melting it. He then jumped up an kicked Matt in the stomach.

Matt grabbed Night's foot and threw him in a toss and threw him at the wall.

Night landed on his feet on the wall and jumped back towards Matt with his fist sticking out to punch.

Matt grabbed Night's fist and slammed him into the floor. "I should have killed you when I had the chance." Matt said in Night's voice.
