CHAPTER 1: LIFE TAKES A TURN

Jarry begin his morning like always. He reached school and was in his first period class. The school year had started over again, and he was now in the tenth grade. The class was filling in one by one. Jarry had arrived first since he liked to have time to write in his journal. He looked around as people filled in the classroom. He saw that some of his friends had come into the class, but he just smiled at them and kept writing.

Alison was at her new locker getting it ready for the year. She always made sure that her locker had some style to it. She finished by putting a picture of her family. "There, a new year, a better look." She looked at the time, "Time for class." She said. She walked to her classroom and went inside. She looked around at everyone while she was coming in. She then noticed a boy writing in a journal. She sat down beside him and pulled out her notebook. She started drawing a picture of a rose.

"No, I don't. I just know he is not in this town anymore." Allison said.

Night turned around and spat on the ground. "What do I care if he's gone? Good riddance, I say," he said.

"Night! He was and is my first love." Allison said to Night.

"You're point being? He's a jerk, and you're better off without him," Night replied, kicking a nearby can. "Heck, we're all better off without him."

"Oh really? Because he knows where your mother is." Allison said in an Alex Russo tone lying.

Night smiled and started laughing. "And just how would he know that?" Night challenged, "And just how would you know?" He continued to laugh. "For all I know, you might not even be Allison. You could be something else. It would explain how you 'know' how Jerry knows."

"Or maybe I looked into his journal and found out that he had her locked up, but he didn't say where. And plus, would just anyone be able to do this." Allison said as she pulled out a bottle of water and then made it lift up and then froze it when it made the image of Night. "See? Not lying." Allison said.

"Well, did it say where he had her locked up? And why would Jarry do that, anyway? Just because he killed Matt?" Nessa didn't add the fact that Matt had tried to kill them, as to keep the tension from growing. Why do I get the feeling that just because Matt's gone, our problems aren't. . .

"It didn't, thats the odd part. Perhaps, and I'd hate to say this, but maybe Jarry is working with the darkness." Allison said.

"I wouldn't put it past him," Night said, pulling out his rapier and inspecting its point. "Matt is the one who said that he had my mother, first, though. And at that time, Jerry was working for us. Supposedly." He experimentally swung the sword a few times. "But if he is working with Matt, then we'll just beat him until he tells us what we want. And if he doesn't..." Night sliced the nearby tree cleanly in two. "...We'll go after Amy next."

"No harming him unless needed. Now anyone have any clues where a wolf could run to in less than 5 days?" Allison asked.

"The forest isn't that far, and Jarry has shown some interest for it." Nessa thought for a moment. "Remember that tree house we found? Man, it feels like years ago. Anyway, its hidden and it had all those research papers. Maybe he's there."

"Well its a lead and the forest is out of town technically. Okay lets go" Allison said.

"Sure," Night said, following them.

They reached the old treehouse in the forest to see the door already open. "Okay, who wants to check inside first?" Allison wisphered.

"I will," Night said. He spread his wings and flew up to the door and pulled out his rapier. He stepped inside. "Come out, come out, wherever you are..."

The room only had one lightbulb, dim, on and there were papers all over the place, more than usual, and there was someone in the corner rocking back and forth their body while sitting on the floor. The person's head went up and it was shown that it was Jarry. But his hair was longer and fuzzy, his face was covered with scars and straches, his arms and legs were growing more hairs than normal and the color of them was orange.

Night grinned. "Well, looks like someone saved me the trouble of beating you up." He dropped his grin and pointed his sword at Jarry. "Seriously though, please stay at least five feet away from me at all times. Now, what happened to you, anyhow?"

"Monster......all.......I.......am........too........much........power..........can't..................................................handle..........." Jarry made out in a rough voice that was as rough as the dessert ground.

"Tell me about it," Night replied, "I always have to blow off a little steam to keep my powers under control. Luckily, since the ryhameha is made up of actual dragon energy, it's gotten easier." He looked around. "I dunno what you can do though...how about you punch something and let out some anger. Something that's not me."

"Too.....much.......power..........can't........blow......it......off........I.......can...not........feel......" Jarry then hopped up and was in his wolf form, but instead of the usual look, his fur was black and he had total red eyes. Jarry then went at Night trying to slash him.

Night neatly dodged. "Well, you're going to have to be a lot faster than that." He then punched Jarry in the stomach. He smiled. "Like that."

Jarry then slashed at Night's belly and tried to bite his arm. Allison ran inside to see what was going on. "Night!" she said.

Night dodged the bite, and kicked Jarry's stomach while punching his jaw. He then did a couple of backflips to the back of the room and let out a ryuhameha at Jarry. "Yeah, what?" Night asked Allison, shouting over the noise the massive energy beam was making.

"What is that?" Allison asked.
