CHAPTER 1: LIFE TAKES A TURN

Jarry begin his morning like always. He reached school and was in his first period class. The school year had started over again, and he was now in the tenth grade. The class was filling in one by one. Jarry had arrived first since he liked to have time to write in his journal. He looked around as people filled in the classroom. He saw that some of his friends had come into the class, but he just smiled at them and kept writing.

Alison was at her new locker getting it ready for the year. She always made sure that her locker had some style to it. She finished by putting a picture of her family. "There, a new year, a better look." She looked at the time, "Time for class." She said. She walked to her classroom and went inside. She looked around at everyone while she was coming in. She then noticed a boy writing in a journal. She sat down beside him and pulled out her notebook. She started drawing a picture of a rose.

Night/Draco powered off his beams. "Yes, I am well aware of what a fairy tale is. Supposedly, I AM ONE!"

"One, the Air Lander is much more than a boat. Two, I had to put you in this cage, because the darkness is tracking you guys and these cages are blocking their reading to find you. Three, you don't have to trust me, but I would never harm such a sweet lady." Nick said as he looked at Allison, who just brushed.

"Yeah, that's what they all say,," Night said, "So, when do we get going?"

  • Author

Nick smiled, "When do you want?" Nick asked as he opened the cage and then started walking towards the door in the right of the room. Allison looked over at Night, "Night, I have just had one bad break up, don't act like that with someone who is kind enough to go with us." Allison said as she walked behind Nick.

"What does your breakup have anything to do with this?" Night asked. He then whispered, "All I'm saying is that this is too convenient, and that we should keep an eye on Jean-Claude over there."

"He called me sweet, that is a nice thing, so I think we can trust him. Why don't you just give the guy a chance?" Allison asked Night.

"I am," said Night, "After all, I haven't attempted to beat the snot out of him yet. What more do ya want?"

  • Author

"Really? I want you to stop being such a know-it-all." Allison said as she walked ahead.

Night stopped walking and frowned, thinking. 'Know it all? How am I being a know-it-all? I'm just expressing my opinions and concerns for her safety, Nessa's, and mine. Too much has happened for us to trust every other random stranger we meet. Why can't she see that? Is she just that naive, or am I just that distrustful? Is it really just because he called her "sweet?" Boy, now I know what to do if I ever want a cookie from her. Maybe she's been brainwashed...?'

Nessa sighed as she started following Alison. "Just ignore it." She said to Night. Then, with a smirk she added, "It's a girl thing." Nessa glanced at Nick up ahead. "Don't worry, I'm not exactly head-over-heels for him, either."

Night smiled at her. "At least someone here is thinking this through," he said.

Soon, everyone walked out onto a sea dock. Allison and Nick were talking with each other and Allison was smiling and laughing. Soon they stopped talking and stood in front of a big red pirate ship that was similar to The Black Pearl. "This is it, the Air Lander." Nick said walking onto the ship's dock.

"Ironic name for a ship," Night commented, boarding it.

  • Author

"Actually if you see this ship in action, you would understand that it is the best name for this ship." Nick said with a smirk.

Nessa boarded the boat, leaning against one of the masts. "How far away is the Sea Kingdom?"

  • Author

"Its not too far, but it isn't too easy to get to it. It is in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. Did you ever wonder why no one is suppose to go there, and those that do never come out? It is because it is the magical center of this world. Inside, it is much larger than it appears on the outside." Nick said.

"Oh, I thought you were gonna say that the denizens of the see mercilessly slaughtered them all," Night said.

  • Author

"Why would I say something like that?" Nick asked Night. Nick then put on his pirate hat. "Everyone be ready to set sail." Nick said taking the wheel of the ship.

'Maybe because it might have been true,' Night thought, but he kept it to himself.

Nick then had a serious look on his face. He put the ship on magic control and walked over to Night. "Follow me, now" Nick meaning business. He then walked inside the cabin of the ship.

Night followed him. "Yeah...?" Night asked. "What's up?" 'Don't tell me he can read minds!' Night thought.

  • Author

When they were alone, Nick looked at Night. "I may not be able to read your mind, but I can tell by your look and tone that you don't trust me." Nick said.

"Okay, personally, I think that the fact that I just thought about you reading my mind and then you saying about you not being able to read my mind might prove you can," Night said, chuckling, "and yes, I don't trust you. It took you how long to figure that out?"

  • Author

"Here is my question, why don't you trust me. I help hide you from the darkness, I am helping you get rid of the darkness in your life, and I am going behind everybody's backs to help you find your mother." Nick said.

"Sure, until you stick a dagger in my back," Night said, "and yes, it will probably be my back first. Do you honestly think you're the only one who's tried to help us? You'd be wrong, except that every single one has stabbed us in the back or turned evil somehow. It's always some part of some evil, elaborate plan to kill us. For all I know, you could be leading us to the villains lair to off us, or turn us in, or both. But don't feel bad, there's actually one person I trust even less than you."

  • Author

"Ah, do you mean Jarry?" Nick asked. "Also, I am promising you, as long as Allison is alive, I will not harm any of you. For you see, I am a pirate, and we live by the code that a honor pirate never tells a lie. I am promising you, I will not harm any of you, I swear on my life itself." Nick said.
