Curious about the quality of videos...

Posted

What is causing the motion lag in this video? This should be re-recorded and uploaded. This video has poor sound capture as well. Not trying to be mean but the quality could be better.

Which videos have the bad quailty? you didn't make that clear?

hmmm, ur right. does it look like the edges are kind of fuzzy? that's what it looked like for me. idk, maybe it's just the Japanese vids. the english ones might be better whenever they are posted.

These videos need to be recaptured. Can someone tell me what these were recorded with?

DChiuch records them, so i really don't know. you can ask him.

they were probably recorded with a...VCR or something...no, DVD player. yeah. can't put videotapes on the computer....

And stop complaing about the quailty. It looks fine to me, just the sound is a bit loud.

but I rarely use sound in my videos anyway, so that's not really important to me.

Honestly, if you want better quailty videos, record them yourself.

If I had the game and the technology, I would.

then don't complain.

you should be at least grateful the cutscenes are even here. it's nearly impossible to find the japanese cutscenes anymore. >.<

I'll quote what I wrote in the other thread.

It's an interlacing problem. The Japanese version of the game only outputs interlaced video (as opposed to progressive scan), and this is what creates the scan lines in high motion scenes. If you view the video at half the size, 320x240, the same that KH-Vids.net uses, the scan lines are much less noticable.

As for the capture equipment, we are recording directly from the PS2 to a TV tuner and rendering it in an uncompressed format (at this stage the scan lines are already present due to interlacing) and we then convert to WMV.

As for the original Kingdom Hearts in Japanese, we plan to record them again and see what we can do once we have completed the other games.

Thanks for your concern Cecil_and_Kain, but you really only needed to tell us in once place instead of three. And kairiwilson1, you don't really need to tell him to record them yourself, he's just pointing out that there is room for improvement.

I see. I apologize for nagging. I love your site. KH-vids strangly lacks cutscenes that they used to have.

  • 2 weeks later...

I like KH-Vids for creating a legacy, but I love KH13 much more because unlike KH-Vids the resolution is bigger and it is higher quality. Plus...well I just like KH13 better ^.^

why complain .. it's WAAAY better than khvids cutscenes ...
