"Painful, wasn't it?" Sterling asked Clayton.

Clayton shook his head. "No, that's an understatement." He turned to Lazard, excitedly. "So, do I start out at 3rd class now? Are we going on a special mission? Do I have to wear specific clothing now? I need all the details."

 

Hojo turned his microscope off and looked at Clayton's blood sample. "What a strange specimen he was," He said to himself. "Almost as if..." He went to a machine and injected it with Clayton's blood. it pulled up an image of his DNA, and he looked at it intrigued.

"No, it can't..." He drifted off. "According to this, his potential strength almost completely matches... him." He said pausing again. He went to grab some things and was about to do more research when he accidentally dropped the vial of blood before he could record the data that was being uploaded.

"NO!!!" Hojo said, hitting the floor he fell on in anger. He slowly got back up. "Well, his DNA may have been lost, but from what I saw, it's exactly what I've been trying to create. and since he's not one of my experiments, then he must be the real thing."

He looked at the door Lazard and Clayton had left through. This time, he used his actual name. "Clayton, is an ancient."

"Well, yeah," Sterling told Clayton. "See what I'm wearing? This is standard 3rd class uniform. We gotta get you a sword too..."

Sephiroth was in Modeoheim. He wasn't a fan about this place. It was quiet, and cold all the time. The only thing he found was monsters. But something was strange about these monsters, they were alike in many ways, like color and their patterns. Sephiroth examined one of the bodies of the monsters, it was not ordinary, this type of monster had wings when it was classified otherwise.

Clayton shook his head. "No, that's ok, I'm strictly materia if that's alright with you. Swords and guns aren't really my thing."

"You're really gonna stand out," said Sterling. "Everyone else has one. They still use materia too, of course."

Lazard agreed "you don't have to use a weapon, you've proved yourself." He turned to Sterling "why don't you show him around and how things work here. I gotta go" lazard left to his office.

Angeal delt the final blow to the creature, punching it in the back of its head, its main organs pop out of it like a zit. Angeal landed, then texted the mission completion to Lazard. "Zack, you alright.?" Angeal went to Zack and smiled, "Job well done, now we go to a nearby hotel and wait there for tomorrow. Once we get there and rest, then wake up early, that way we can examine what that thing is and send it to Hojo."

 

Seth sheathed his sword, looking around to see everyone is alright. "If it is alright, we wish to camp out here for the night, may we?" Seth asked as the towns people stared at the two Soldiers. "You can stay, since you did save us!" one of the towns folk yelled in happiness and excitement. Seth sighed, happy to hear this, then sets a tent in the middle of town. "Alright Zephyr, make sure you get some rest." Seth walked to the cliff, where he can see the Reactor.

"Y-Yeah...once this headache goes away I should be fine. That was some gross stuff." Zack stood up on his legs brushed himself off. "Aleight then mission complete. Let's head to a hotel!" Zack said with excitement.

 

 

Sephiroth was curious about this new monster he had found. He had gathered a sample of the carcass and went back to the helicopter.

Lazard went to his desk and pulled out his phone. He called Seth to check on progress of there mission.

Clayton turned to Sterling.

"Alright, I guess I'm just going to check out Midgar, and after that I suppose I'll be ready for my first mission, wherever that will be." And with that, still in his normal attire so as not to scare anyone, went into the town of Midgar.

 

Hojo pictured the diagram of Clayton's DNA in his head, and laughed meniacally.

"A real ancient, in Shinra's midst." He stopped laughing as fast as he had started. "In my midst."

He pulled out a diagram of someone's DNA and examined it.

"Curious, my creation's DNA is not the same as the real thing. Could it be that Jenova isn't actually an ancient?" He hunched back in his chair. "Oh well, my creation is probably stronger anyways. And if not, I could always make adjustments." He looked at the name of the DNA he was now looking at. "Sephiroth."

Zephyr walked across the dead wutai warriors to the scared villagers. "Are you guys alright? Good" he turned to Seth hearing his phone ring."you going to answer that?"

Sephiroth arrived back at the Shinra base, he had the sample in his pocket. He wanted to see what happened so his destination was going to be Hojo's lab. When he finally arrived on the floor he saw the professor indulged in his computer. "Professor, i have a DMA sample of a monster i had encountered today. I thought it might be i=an interesting find."

Seth answered his cell, "Yes, Lazard? We stopped at Gongaga for the night to rest. We encountered some trouble, but nothing we cant handle. Understood." slowly hangs up his cell and puts it away. "Remember, we get up early morning."

"Right! Ill go find an inn." Zephyr nodded and took off.

Hojo turned to Sephiroth and smiled. "Ah Sephiroth. You've brought me a new subject? You never cease to amaze me. Give it here."

Hojo recieved the DNA and put it into a machine for analysis. Still looking at the machine, he began to speak to Sephiroth. "So, did you hear about the recruit? I hear he's quite the remarkable one. Oh but not as much as you, of course." He said, curious as to what his reply would be.

 

Clayton walked around the soon to be dark streets of Midgar, amazed at what he saw. Living in Cosmo Canyon, he had a nice view of nature and the desert he'd grown accustomed to, with nothing but fire and natural light to see. However Midgar had an entirely different atmosphere. The natural light was replaced by bright neon city lights. The fresh air he was used to was now fragrant with misilaneous aroma's of foods and perfumes, with a hint of gas exhaustion from the many cars that drove his way. Although he knew this city life came at a cost of the earth's well-being, he couldn't get enough of it.

"Maybe one day I'll find a clean Eco friendly energy that won't hurt the earth, yet give us the best of both nature and city life together. That would be amazing." He said to himself imagining the possibilities.

He had sensed a familiar presence, of someone Clayton hadn't met, yet he knew it so well.

"Another Cetra?" He said to himself, looking frantically. He glanced around until he noticed a little girl who looked at him with Green cetra eyes, apparently also figuring out he was a Cetra as well, and covered her face with a hood and trotted away.

"Hey wait up!" He said, running after her.

"The new recruit, yes, he suprises me. It will be facinating to see what becomes of him." Sephiroth said as he leaned against the wall.

Hojo turned to Sephiroth. "Why don't you continue going about your business? I'll let you know what I come up with in the DNA. Oh and I might have some experi-.... Upgrades, I'd like to give you, so come back soon." He turned back to the machine and waited for Sephiroth to leave.

 

Clayton trudged through many people and dodged cars following this Cetra girl, who was getting future and further away. He saw her enter a church and closed the door behind her. He could sense a friendly environment in the church, as if there were some natural vegetation that had managed to survive in there. He was about to enter the church when he realized how dark it had gotten.

"...I guess I'd better get back to Shinra HQ." He said to himself. He figured she'd be back here again, and he would confront her then. And with that he left.

"Of course Professor." Sephiroth got up an walked down to the SODIER floor. He went into the training room and watched some of the Thirds train.

Zephyr went looking for Seth "hey I found an inn! They even said we can get a night free! Seth, where are you?!"

He walked up casually, looking around. "Alright then, thats where we stay, reminder, get up early, that way, we can simply get t he job done." Seth chuckled as he ran for the inn, and instead of using an elevator, he ran up the flight of stairs, all the way to the room.

Zephyr followed "right!" He agreed and smiled

Rai walked out of the recovery room and had a certain look on his face.

Rai: Man with what just happened, I completely forgot about Xaster. I wonder if he's still in the directors' office. Rai started to walk to the directors'.

Xaster: Something must have happened for the director not to be here by now.

Zack and Angeal walked into the hotel, the first thing Zack did was walk over to a girl sitting in some chairs reading. "Hey, later do you wanna go on a date?" (i cant flirt or nothin)
