Getting Heroes of Ruin?

Hello all you 3DS owners!

So Square Enix is making a game for 3DS, coming July 17, 2012, and is called Heroes of Ruin. HoR is basicly a Role-Playing game that you play with people all over the world! If you haven't given it much thought, and don't know if you want it or not, here are some of the features:

Online chatting with people from around the world, which you can set to either always on or you push the L button to talk when next to a character.

Streetpass and Spotpass function, where you send weapons and armor.

Of course, creating your own character by choosing a race, a class, and clothes.

You can also choose to play either Story Mode by yourself which requires no Internet, or Friend List Multiplayer where you play with just your friends, or Around the World Multiplayer which does require Internet, unless you're playing Local play.

I am definetly getting it, and will enjoy it to the fullest.

For those of you who still don't know, there will be a playable Demo in the eShop July 5, which allows some Single Player levels and (possibly; unconfirmed) Online.

I'm in Australia and have the demo.

To be honest don't buy it until you've played the demo.

I was bent on buying the game until I played the demo. It seems like the coolest game but then in the demo it just felt that there was always something missing, I don't know if I was expecting more or something but it was just plain dissapointing. I found the combat a pain in the ass, the 3D looked good and the character designs were nice as was the map. Oh and the online chat is the best idea ever. But I just reall didn't like it.

 

This is, of course, my opinion and I'm not a game critic or very knowlegable in the ways of game production. But get the demo before you buy the game. You might enjoy it =)

It's been out in Europe since the 15th June and I'd actually buy it if I weren't super broke after buying KH3D and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy among other things.

I've had the demo since it was released earlier this month and even though it only let me have 6 or 7 tries on it I thought it was insanely fun. All the fun of a dungeon-crawler without the clicking

I hope for SE's sake it sells well enough as it is such a fun game and I am sure the local/online co-op would be super fun to try.

But yeah it's one of those games that isn't really for everyone but there is no harm in trying the demo, but it doesn't let you try all the classes so if you don't like the classes on offer then there could be a chance you like one of the classes in the actual game
