"What is your job?" Carte asked.

"You would be saver don't knowing that..."

Julian was thinking -If he sees where I'm headed he will know anyways...-

Shadowfallen suddenly stopped.

'Club Nozgoth'

The assassin entered the tavern, he instantly felt home when he saw the likes of him.

Caius lounged back on the sofa, downing the drink in his hand. He didn't know what it was, nor did he care. All that mattered was that it was damn good. He threw the empty glass out through the curtain, the glass shattering on the floor. "Gemme another!" Caius shouted, his posse laughing around him. The vampire blew a toothy kiss to a woman on the other end of the club who waved him off with a casual gesture. Her friends laughed as they turned back to their own drinks. Caius shook his head, his attention turning to the door as a man in black walked in. The others in his group turned to see what was happening, a little disappointed when it wasn't a fight breaking out.

"What is it, boss?" The burly vampire asked. He leaned back, his own glass in his hand. The amber liquid sloshed around the glass' rim, but never escaped.

"A shadowmancer." Caius eyed Julian, not even bothering to hide his interest. "Just more scum. Let him go, boys." Caius turned to the waitress who brought him his new drink, nodding his head as he took the glass. Caius swigged the liquor, letting out a sigh of satisfaction. "Damn, that is good."

Shadowfallen took a seat at the bar and looked at the barman.

He ordered a very cheap whiskey, Julian knew that it wouldn't satisfy him, but at least he wold forget the bad feeling in his stomach that he got after shooting Gola Grande.

Then the assassin pulled out a pack of smokes from his pocket and enlightened one waiting for his drink.

Carte sat down next to Julian. He looked at the cigar. "That thing's gonna kill you ya know," he said. He sniffed. "By Morgasm the Powerful, what is that smell?"

"Yes... yes it will..." Julian mostly ignored Carte's comment.

"It's vanilla..." As Shadowfallen got his glass he raised it due to a habit.

He drank it in one shot, because that was truly the cheapest and worst whiskey he ever drank, but at least he could save the money.

Carte looked at the drink curiously. " What is that?" he asked, "Can I have some?"

"The cheapest whiskey I ever drank in my entire life, if you really want some, i can order you a glass..."

Shadowfallen was dark and caring for his own busyness, but that didn't mean that he wasn't friendly.

The assassin scanned the room from the corner of his eye, after a second he had all the faces memorized.

After watching the pictures his photographic memory has take he recognized that Caius was looking at him.

But as long as he would let Julian be he wouldn't bother to give more attention to him.

"Never mind," Carte said.

"Ok..."

Julian ordered a second glass for himself.

"So...Carte... what brought you in this city?"

Alex arrived at the club and saw alot of assassins around. 'Maybe I will find him here.' He Behan to sniff. He knew the scent of the assassin he was after. 'He's not here, but ill ask for clues..'.

Alex say down next to an assassin and a mage. "A shadowmancer huh? The scent of darkness rinks on you.." Alex turns to face the assassin.

"Uh, who are you?" Carte asked Alex.

Shadowfallen answered with a grumpy "Hmpf."

Then he drank his whiskey in one shot.

"I prefer the title Dark Caster..."

"Oh, are you a mage too?" Carte asked curiously.

"I have magic skills yes... but not elemental or arcane... I've also spent just half the time in the academy studying my magic powers... the other half was more... Physical."

He took a sip of his drink.

"Although it's strange that this guy knows what I am, the academy was supposed to remain secret..."

"I'm Alex" he answered the mage. "I'm searching for an assassin..."

Shadowfallen remained silent.

-Gola grande's henchman? Does he want revenge?-

From the corner of his eye he scanned Alex.

-No he's not one of his men... but that doesn't mean he isn't looking for me. Maybe he's a client...-

"Carte? Can you do me a favor? Can you stay here, I have to talk with Alex among 4 eyes... I will be back soon."

Carte blinked a couple times. "Sure," he said.

-That boy is a naive idiot... that's why I like him.-

"Thanks."

The assassin stood up and made a gesture that told Alex to follow him to the back of the Club.

He looked in every direction to see if it's save to talk. Then he raised his suitcase.

"So who do you want to see dead? Which method of killing should I make use of?And most important: How much will you pay?"

He snipped with the left hand that remained hidden behind his back, after a weak blue light shadows where forming a dagger in it.

"He hid the knife from Alex' sight.

Shadowfallen was thinking: -If he's a cop, tis will keep him from spilling anything about me...-

Carte sighed. "Man, things aren't going so well, is Shadow even going to come back?" He took another sip of his soda. "Well, that's the fun part of life..."

Alex blankly stared at the assassin before realizing he made sound like we was a client. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not hiring I'm on a 'job's myself. I mean I'm no assassin but I'm trying to kill someone myself, but I could use you to capture the Guy. You're skills are made for hunting as are mine. Together that assassin I'm looking for will be in my claws in no time." Alex drew out his claws. The thought of finding the killer excited him.

"So you want me to help you? Sounds interesting... usually I work alone, but I could use some company."

The blade behind Julian's back faded.

"So which information do you have about-" he suddenly stopped talking.

"I totally forgot... Somebody has to babysit Carte..."

Shadowfallen looked to the bar.

"Well, I think it won't kill himself waiting here... So where was I? Right, do you know how your man looks like or do you have any information about him?"

"That's the 11th sprite you've ordered,' said the bartender. "So?" Carte asked. "You've gotta pay," the man replied. "I'm broke," Carte said. "Letting you walk away like this is bad for buisness," the bartender said, reaching for the mage. In an instant, Carte flipped the bartender over and put his boot on his neck. "You wanna know what else is bad for buisness?" Carte asked, "A crushed neck!"

Shadowfalen looked down facepalming.

"I knew he would get me into trouble."

He ran to the mage and held his arm and pulled Carte to him.

"Never mess with a bartender in a club like this, you'll draw the attention on you."

Julian got down to the barman.

"Sorry for that, he's a bit aggressive at times of course i'll pay."

He opened his suitcase and removed the top layer, beneath it was a hidden space full with lots of money, mostly from his assassin jobs.

He took out a note, the number on it was much higher than the amount of money he actually had to pay.

"See the rest as payment for your troubles."

He helped the bartender get up and gave him the note.

Then he turned to Carte again.

"You really want to get me killed don't you?"

Edited by JailXun

"Hey, he messed with me," Carte said. "It was either scare him or blow him up. And how are you gonna get killed? I'm the one with pulling crap."
