Ok so my computer obtained a virus from a previous thread where I said I wanted an emulator. Turns out the file had the virus named "Win32: Sality" in it and it took over my computer. Yesterday I found the little bugger in my windows files and deleted almost all of it. So now my problem is getting my computer to unblock facebook,myspace,and youtube. It says when I typ in those sites "SITE RESTRCITED" and then under "This site is restricted based on your security setting. Your computer is infected. Please activate your anti-virus software." I went to my internet options since I can now and it didnt show them blcked under sites. Maybe it's under content? If anyone is fluent in the understanding of computer info systems then help would be appreciated.

it's your security program, and it's a very good one if it's blocking you from those stuff.

 

first of all, if you have anti-virus software, RUN IT IMMEDIETLY, if not go out and buy some. my friend picked up a virus through msn, he had to get a new computer after just a day from getting the virus. then make sure it completely gets rid of the virus. and make sure you don't type in any passwords for sites, as the virus might contain a keylogger

 

then your sites should be unblocked, but make sure the virus is fully gone first.

Well there are no more annoying pop-ups and what part of my computer should I scan? I have a lot of stuff on my computer and scanning my windows files (windows start up data and parts of my computer) took like 3 hours. Also I found all of it so I think all of it is gone except for that part of the virus.l I'm going to try deleting Mozilla firefox and then going on internet explorer to see if facebook and the other sites work and then I'm going to re-install Mozilla, I hope that works, And I guess I'll scan my files again
