I had this thought. This game takes place ten years before Kh1, right? I heard a rumor that Ven was supposed to be Sora's dad or something, but Sora is already born in this game. I was thinking that maybe Ventus was like, Sora's older brother. It'd explain why Xehanort found Ven on Destiny Islands in the begining. That would also explain why Ven and Roxas look exactly the same. Sora might've had a really strong bond with Ven, so when Sora was split, his Nobody was a mirror image of his older brother. I dunno, just a thought I had. Also, Terra and Riku have similar meanings, so they might have a link. Aqua and Kairi mean almost the same, so they most likely have a link. Ventus means wind in Latin, and Sora means sky in Japanese, so it would make sense that they were related. Any other theories for the links between the characters?

i heard that terra could be soras father but other than that your right, what still bugs me is how xehanort found sora in the first place? maybe their related:huh:

Actually acording to this video, they aren't related, they are like one person it seems like, still it's a connection. Though I don't exactly trust the translations. Especially at the end.

I dont think they have any relation at all the only reason roxas looks like ven is because ven heart's was inside sora because it was incomplete because of master xehanort extracting the darkness from within ven heart.

Uh, spoiler alert, just a warning.

 

In the first cutscene, Master Xehanort dumps Ven on Destiny Islands (likely right after he extracted the darkness in Ven's heart to make Vanitas). Ven then has an awakening where his station (which is probably a symbol of his heart) is broken off/incomplete. A voice calls out to him after sensing the light in his heart, and their hearts join together to heal Ven's. Sora's actual voice is heard with Ven's when they say "Let's open the door," so it was obviously Sora's heart he joined with then. One of the translations I saw had the voice saying that they were a "newborn" heart, so maybe it was right when Sora was born.

 

Either way, Sora says "again" because their hearts joined with one another at the beginning of the game, and the bond probably broke when Ven loses his heart after the Vanitas battle.
