"I think your right." Kassie agreed.

"Do you think that waiter is..evil or some'n?" She asked.

"Perhaps...but...I get the distinct feeling that won't be the last we see of her.." Micah murmured, walking towards the festival, as the cheery peasant music and bright lights seemed to carry a lighter mood with it--a change Micah felt was much needed.

"I hear dancing." Micah suddenly announced, his left cat-ear flicking once.

"I like to dance~" Kassie happily.

"Can we?" She asked her eyes lighting up.

Micah stopped, scratching his chin for a moment. "I don't see why not." He finally said, "Just beware, I have the equal of two left feet." Micah smirked, taking Kassie's hand in his own as he walked down an alleyway lit by oil lanterns, which lead out into a large, cobblestone colonnade.

People were dancing, eating, kissing, buying and selling in one merry mess together. It was beautiful, and the gay sounds delighted Micah's sensitive ears. "I wish I could live here..this place is wonderful.." He yawned sleepily.

"You can't? " Kassie asked.

She looked shocked. "That's..hard.." She tailed off.

"Y-you don't have to look so shocked!" Micah exclaimed, "I can always learn...besides...I've always wanted to elven dances. My home village's elder spoke of them, and it's been something I've always wanted to see." Micah smiled, something that just radiated warmth and affection.

"Please? For me?"

"No..I...I'll dance,I love too dance. Take my hand and follow me." Kassie said. She offered her hand and smiled brightly.

"I'll lead you." She said.

Micah smiled back, and gladly took her hand again.

"Thank you." He said, readying himself to fall in step with her every move, noting that he had to try his best--for both their sakes.

"We will let the song change." She told him. (You can link a song from youtube if you like.)

"When it does I'll dance with you forever if I can~" She smiled softly at him.

Micah nodded. The current song had a happy flair to it, and people danced excitedly to it. Micah looked to Kassie with a massive smile, clearly pleased by the song's tune. "This is a very nice song.." He murmured to her, waiting for the band playing to switch to something else.

A few minutes later, the band halted--looking very exhausted. Undeterred, they continued to play again, their song again something cheerfully and fairly happy.

"Do as I say. Wrap one arm around my waist." Kassie told him.

She smiled and pulled him out to where other people were already dancing. "And don't worry too much about anything. Dance is freedom." She smiled widely.

Micah nodded once, doing as Kassie said and wrapped his left arm around her waist. Blushing a bit, he felt as if everyone was watching. He wondered what was going through their minds.

Why is that Kin dancing with an elf?

How dare that girl! Touching a Kin so intimately is sacrilege!

They're such a cute couple...

Micah though, ignored the stares given to him, and kindly began to smoothly dance along side Kassie.

"See it's not hard." Kassie whispered.

She smiled slightly. "I love you." She added.

"I must have a knack for this.." Micah murmured, amazed that he was doing well in keeping in step with Kassie. He smiled, when Kassie mentioned her love, and he nodded to her once. "Oh, I love you too. A whole lot." He whispered that last part, kissing her once on the cheek. The uproar was almost defeaning--as if several older elves had fallen over.

Kassie shook Micah's arm off her and then she let go of him herself. "I've shamed you sir." She bowed.

"I'm very sorry. I shouldn't have done that. Forgive for my shamfulness." She said her eyes lingering on his eyes a bit to long.

Micah turned, and growled inhumanely at the conservatives elves.

"firetruck them." He whispered to Kassie, pulling her close to him. "You haven't shamed me. I'm not some god. I am me. I'm just another mortal." Micah said, looking at Kassie with serious, multi-colored eyes.

"And I love you."

"I..I just don't want to cause you problems. I would have to die if I ever shamed you in any way." She glanced at the ground.

"Besides I'm just running away from my own pain...I'm just a failure...I don't even understand why you like me." She kept looking away.

Micah shook Kassie a bit, his usually lax multi-colored eyes full of hurt.

"You would never shame me, why would that get in the way of me liking you? I like you for who YOU are! I don't care about what pain it is, I'll help you rid yourself of it! I swear!"

"You really don't mind me? Really, for real? I'm glad you feel that about me. Now I just want to get some rest..it's been a long day for both of us."Kassie said slowly.

Micah nodded. The festival was nearing its completion now, and he happily began to lace his hand within Kassie's own.

"Of course. Let's go." He said, looking around for any place that served as an inn. His gaze lingered on a particular alleyway, where he almost thought he saw a shadowy figure.

"Micah if you think you see something there go after it,your eye sight is better than mine." Kassie told him.

"And don't lie to me. I'm not that tired." She added.

"I thought I saw someone." Micah said, "It's nothing. I'm sure someone's just happening to walk down there, and I just saw their shadow."

Micah smiled at Kassie. In truth, he was afraid. The town had a dark aura to it, something that felt far more benign and mysterious.

"Micah, look. This town is full of hatred and crime. Nothing like where we came from, so if there's a chance of danger we should heed it." She told him.

She smiled weakly. "But,well it can wait. I need rest and so do you." She said.

Micah sighed.

"Right. I'm sorry." He said, nodding to a nearby inn. The place looked cozy enough, and Micah quietly walked up to the door, silently opening it a bit as he peered inside. No one was there, but it definitely looked like an inn from the inside.

"Micah? Is anyone inside?" Kassie asked.

She tilted her head as if to prove her point. "Maybe the staff left to have a good time just like everyone else." She said.
