"Who? Forin...well, er...." Cealus thought hard, trying to think of possible places. "She might be at one of the gates. They keep 'em locked, and not too many come along there." Cealus pointed in different directions.

"She'd either be at the North, South, or East gate."

~

Forin tugged on the gate, but it wouldn't budge. Why am I even doing this? She thought.

Because, The Voice responded, You know it is right.

"But who..are you..?" Forin asked, tugging some more.

I am the Qualia, the...Heart, you could say. A Master of your Academy locked me here, fearing my light would undo his wrongs.

Forin slowly nodded, and, as if being controlled by an unseen force, used her Keyblade to blow open the gate.

"She's at the East gate." Jade said matter-a-factly."Can you take me there, quickly. I have a bad feeling...or something feels off rather." She said. She give a small smile. "Anyway let's hurry." She said.

Cealus nodded. "Let's go then." He said, running in the direction of the East Gate.

"It's this way! C'mon!" Cealus said, getting worried as to what Forin was doing.

~

The gate swung open, showing a barren landscape before Forin.

Good, The Voice said, find my Castle. I am locked there, for I was to be released, everything that Master did would be undone. The Darkness of the worlds would be swept away, something that Master had put there.

"So...you want to be released, and destroy the Darkness...." Forin said, and she could almost feel the Qualia's happiness.

Yes! And if you were to do so....I would ensure you would be named a hero. This pleased Forin, for her life's goal was simply to please her family, and prove she was a hero. She quickly set off, running out into the Barrens.

"Jade followed Ceal rather quickly. "Um how far is...the...uh...gate..East gate?" She asked. Then she sighed and gave a slight smile. "Let's hurry anyway." Jade said. "I'm worried." She said mainly to herself.

  • Author

"Not that far." Cealus said, now dragging Jade along with him. "You're being slow!" Cealus said as an explanation, continuing to drag Jade towards the East gate.

~

Forin quickly closed the gate, hoping at least to hide some of the evidence. After nodding to herself, she worriedly looked around.

Oh....this is such a bad idea... Forin thought, but shook her head anyways. She was doing what she felt was important.

~

Deep within a dark abyss, a malevolent being floated. It had no form, or shape. The best description was that it was there.

But yet, chains were visible across it's dark form. Large, golden-silver chains that glowed with an aura of light.

Soon. It thought, the mere thought rumbling across it's form.

Along with it, a man appeared, dressed in a large suit of armor. He bowed.

"I have tricked the girl. She believes exactly everything I said." The being gave off the feeling of a smile. Excellent.

"Okay, okay~" Jades says with a laugh. "I know your just getting me back for always dragging me around." She teased and looked at Ceal. She flashed a smile. "Let's hurry." Jade said.

Cealus stuck his tounge out at Jade, playfully messing around with her. He didn't even know the danger the two of them would be in, let alone the journey they might have to take.

"All right all right....it's up this way. Not too far."

Jade laughed. "That's good~" She said. Suddenlly she saw the gate. "Ceal,I see it!" She said in a happy tone. Jade gave a smile then sighed. "It looks open." She said with a sigh.

Cealus ran around the gate, worried. "Dang it...If she really did get out this way...it'll be hard to find her. The Barrens go out for awhile. There's only one thing out there- some sort of Castle the built as a prison for some monster. At least, that's what the fairy tales said..."

Cealus looked around some more, sighing when he found no clues as to where Forin had gone.

"She's out there!" Jade said and pulled Ceal with her to the other side of the gate. "This is Forin we're talking about." She said with a knowing smile. She gave a smile and ketp dragging Ceal.

  • Author

"Might as well. I have a feeling our report to Master Varius is going to be a big one." With that, he got up and began to pull Jade out into the Barrens.

"If I can remember correctly....the tale said the 'Castle of the Locks of Light' is directly east from here. It's supposedly a giant structure with three red towers."

~

Forin felt as if she had been walking for a long time, but was surprised how quickly she found what she was looking for.

In front of her, was a large Castle-like building. It had three, dark red towers that seemed to be built more out of martian rock, than out of stone. The closest tower held a giant, heart like symbol (The Heartless symbol). Forin guessed this symbol meant the Qualia was here, as the symbol showed a heart, and what appeared to be chains or lines across it.

"Okay,I like red,so let's go." Jade said. She sighed. "Forin's the last one I thought would do something stupid." She said matter-a-factly with an added sigh. "I thoght she was better than this.Jade said lowly.

Cealus shrugged. "People do crazy things to accomplish what they think is right, or risk their lives to protect what they hold dear." Cealus said, that being one of the few times he wasn't silly, but rather quite wise in nature.

"We better hurry. I can feel something...It's big...and it's coming from where we're headed."

~

Forin looked around for a way into the Castle, as the Barrens just dropped off into a cliff. Again, her body acted without her knowledge, her Keyblade activating a glass-like bridge.

"Well you would know." Jade said a bit off handedly. She shook her head. "Anyway, let's stop her before it's really to late." Jade gave a bit of a 'this couldn't be any worst'. Then she sighed.

  • Author

"Yeah." Cealus said, nodding. Finally, he ran off, hoping Jade would follow suit.

~

Forin had reached the towers, feeling a strong force radiating from within.

You are close to me. The Qualia beckoned, the area quivering as it 'spoke'. When you find me, use the Keyblade to break my chains.

Forin slowly nodded. "Just have to find you."

~

The Armored Man laughed. "This is too easy." He said, looking at the dark form near him."

Soon I shall be reborn. A shame you couldn't do it for me, Nalicus.

Jade saw Ceal run and followed suit. "Okay, what do we do when we find him?" She asked woundering why Forin would do something like this. "What reason?" She mumbled.

  • Author

"Her." Cealus corrected, sticking his tongue out again. "I guess...we just find out what she's trying to do. Who knows? Maybe she's got something important here or something. I dunno." Cealus stepped further, coming over the ridge.

"Woah." Before him, was the exact thing from the fairy tale he had once read.

His mind flashed back into a distant memory.

~

A younger Cealus sat with his father, Ansem. They sat reading a book, titled 'The Qualia, The Devourer' in it, described a horrible monster with no form, that would devour human souls, and generate monsters of Darkness. Since it had no form, nor did it truly live...it couldn't be killed. Many 'Keyblade warriors' fought it, but none could stop it. Except one, who's name is lost to time, who managed to seal it away inside giant golden-silver chains. It is said that this Master stood there, in order to ensure the Qualia would never be released.

"Well,it huge I'll give it that." Jade said catching up to Ceal. " Anything you can tell me about this place?" She asked thing about something. "Like how to get in or what's locked inside?" She asked.

  • Author

Cealus thought for a moment.

"Something big is in there. And it's...old. Very old. I think....It's called the Qualia....I don't remember much else...but I know that it's a very very bad thing. If this is what Forin is after....we need to get her out now." Cealus stepped on the light-based bridge, ensuring himself it was safe.

"Alright, we better hurry."

~

After much searching, Forin found a large set of iron doors. it was rusted, showing the age of the entire place. This door was surrounded by symbols, and a nearly-visible set of chains. The chains, though magical, seemed to be at the end of it's life span. Forin hit them once with her blade, and the entire set vanished.

"Yeah." Jade said following after Ceal. "Let's someone important to us." She said happily. She flashed a smile. "Let's do this!" She was ready go now more than ever. She look ahead at Ceal.

"Yeah!" Cealus said, raising his blade in the air. "Let's do this!" At this time, Cealus was as excited as he would ever be. Finally, he could be a hero.

He still didn't know the danger he would get himself in. Nodding to Jade, he charged up the bridge, looking around for evidence that Forin was near. The sound of clanking alerted him, and he pointed nearby. "Over there!"

~

Forin opened the door, and the rusty object made a loud creaking sound, showing it's age. Forin feared it might just burst into dust.

She entered the room, surprised to find......something. It looked to be a hole that showed the same symbol as from outside. The hole glew in many colors, and was surrounded by the same chains from the door. However, these chains were built to last. An armored man strode up to Forin.

"You have come." The man said.

"Wha-what!" Jade cried in shock. "What is it?" She asked confused as to was that Ceal saw and was pointing at. "What do you see?" She asked with this in mind. "This is going out there!"

  • Author

Cealus pulled Jade over, pointing to a nearby platform, where there appeared to be a large door.

"There!" He cried, "I saw someone move around there just a second ago!" With that, and giving no thought whatsoever, Cealus leaped over the railing and landing on the other platform.

~

"Who..are you?" Forin asked, baking slightly away. The man didn't show any emotion, and merely spoke. "I am the one who stands here to protect the Qualia until the right time." He gestured towards the chains.

"And the time is now."

Jade jumped over the railing after Ceal."It must of been Forin." She said with a happy sigh. "We can stop her before she does anything crazy." Jade gave a weak smile. "Let's hurry in." She said.

  • Author

Cealus nodded, running ahead to the giant iron doors, he poked his head in, getting glimpse of what was happening.

~

'What do you mean...?" Forin said, looking at the man. "

"You've come because you feel left out...you feel small.....I could not release the Qualia from it's imprisonment, but you can. That Keyblade, is the only thing that can break these chains." The man stared at Forin. "Are you willing to become a hero, and save the Qualia?"

"Yes..."
