I can't beat the Nightmare Robe Guy! *Spoiler Alert!*

Posted

--NO SPOILERS PLEASE--

Okay, so i'm down to the part where Riku has to fight this scary guy in the robe who's giving Sora nightmares in order to set Sora free. Going into it i thought, okay cool this is a piece of cake because my Riku is a BOSS! Wow i was wrong...

I didn't die or anything but the nightmare dude (loll i'm sure he has a better name but for now i'll call him that) Has this ability where he literally sucks the life outta you to replenish himself and it gets really frustrating having to do all that work all over again... like really. So my question is. How did you beat him? Also what Lvl was your Riku (And Sora i guess) on at this part?

Thanks! :D

30+ is a decent Level Range

40+ if you're having a hard time

50+ if it's even worse.

Name of Boss: Anti Black Coat (Nightmare)

You need a couple of commands such as:

Dark Firaga, Balloonga, Dark Splicer, Shadowbreaker, Icebreaker, and Curaga

Once you've picked your desired commands arrange them like this:

  • 3 Command Spaces
  • Curaga
  • 3 Command Spaces
  • Curaga
For example:
  • Dark Splicer (Takes up 2 spaces)
  • Shadowbreaker
  • Curaga
  • Balloonga
  • Icebreaker
  • Dark Firaga
  • Curaga
If you keep dying at that part, make sure you at least have 2 Curagas considering, one probably isn't enough for you.

Also have these abilities:

  • Once More
  • Second Chance
  • Damage Syphon
And some of these:
  • Attack Haste
  • Magic Haste
  • Dark Resistance
  • Defender
  • HP Boost
  • Defense Boost
  • Attack Boost
  • Magic Boost

Wow this will defiantly help.

Thank you so much! :D

Spam Balloonga and Balloonra

i had a hard time with this boss too but i could beat him thx to my dark block

Since I tried to complete my secondary objectives first (all link portals, all dream eaters, trophies etc) I ended up at level 63 for the fight, which made it too easy ):

Make sure you have once more/second chance ability, so you'll have 1hp of health left and quickly heal yourself and block.

Also, dark roll and the dark barrier is fabulous ^.^

I used (this is my current deck) Curaga, Firaga Burst, Zantutsuken, Dark Break (though i'm sure I changed this for a long range attack of some sort when I battled) Firaga, Balloonra (ga never worked well for me).

Easy as hell.

I used this commands and it worked out just fine

I USED COMMAND - MAGIC - COMMAND - MAGIC....

1 - Curaga

2 - Shadowbreaker

3 - Dark Firaga

4 - Dark Break

5 - Balloonra

6 - Dark Splicer(2 slots)

7 - Curaga

This should help, and if you have spirits with HP BOOST even better :D

i beat him at level 23 by using dark roll and flowmotion do dodge his attacks.my deck was something like this

dark splicer

dark firaga

firaga

blizzara

curaga

curaga

drop me not(just in case)

i mainly used flowmotion to attack and every once in a while i would use dark splicer or magic.dark roll 95% of the time should be enough to dodge his attacks but if you're having trouble with the life one, remember this,he just leaves it lying on the ground.if you can't get it in time heal asap or you could die easily.now, because you can dodge quikly, you yourself won't have to heal much, especially if you have a dream eater like meow wow, where it will heal you,but if you see a dream eaters health going low,use curaga,it won't really be wasting since you have 2 and you can quikly dodge.if the dream eater does die,get anti black coat as far away as possible then go to the dream eater and spam the a button.you should easily beat him in 5 minutes or less, and this deck is pretty good with ansem too, actually,i used this deck for xehanort and ventus too.

Dark Roll makes it so you can avoid every attack, a specific one it helps for is the attack that drains all your HP (the shadow the stretches out from him and lifts you into the air) If you roll towards that shadow and past it it will miss. If I recall correctly Double Flight gets you out of range of it as well. For the X attack that flies towards you it's best to Dark Roll into it as you will pass through it. Anything you fail to Dark Roll out of in time Dark Barrier should be sufficient in blocking the attack.

I used strong magic like Firaga, Dark-Firaga (2x), Blizzaga and Cura and Curaga

and this physical Meteo attack (I know only the German name of it) because it makes a lot of damage on Riku's 3rd boss
