Why?

Because now you don't have to deal with the trouble of explaining the story to people who want to start playing KH or want to know the story. Or at least it will be easier to explain it with them.

I know I always hate it when someone says,

"Why is Kingdom Hearts a good series, anyways?"

"I wanna play Kingdom Hearts, but I don't know the story."

Etc, etc.

Agreed. Make's it easier for newcomers.

Yea when people ask me a question about Kingdom Hearts even if it's a simple one I can't answer it properly without thoroughly going through details that would confuse them, with mementos you just turn on your 3DS and tell them to read haha...

I think on a review for the game, they talked about the Mementos feature. They said the game descriptions were TOO LONG. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png

Yea I think I saw that review too, they said that the mementos were like essays, but honestly if somebody really wanted to know about the series, then they should take the time to read it, the mementos are just a friggin' summary of past games not some lengthy research paper about the mysteries of the universe =P
