First off, this is where I periodically post my writing crap. Pretty self-explanatory. Starting off with part 1 of my REALLY long oneshot, a TeddyxVictoire thing. Please excuse any mistakes you find in my writings, I try to proof-read, but some things still get by me.
I made Teddy not as manly and Quidditch captain type that wants to be an Auror as he is usually portrayed. Seriously, I don’t imagine his parents being Quidditch types, and besides Ginny, who had a serious career in Quidditch in the family? To me, he’ll just be the guy in his own world, not caring what other people think of him, not this muscular Quidditch player.
Note: This is entirely in Teddy’s point of view.
Also, I got Victoire’s and Teddy’s appearances from burdge-bug’s drawings. They’re pretty good, you should check them out.
It seems like writing Harry Potter romance fanfics is my natural zone, and after reading some particularly good ones about Teddy and Victoire, I figured, why not?
Anyways, without further ado,
Pretty good with the ladies, eh?
Teddy always considered himself to be pretty good with the ladies. Mostly because he didn’t like any of the ones he was pressured into dating. But now Victoire was saying this stuff, she was up close to him, and he didn’t even know what to do. How this whole day started, how everything that happened within twelve hours changed his relationship with Victoire was rushing through his mind.
Of course Teddy was friends with Victoire. She was the closest to him age-wise, and was still two years behind. He often found himself close to two groups, the adults and the kids, but somewhere in-between both. He never fit in. But at least he had a slightly mature girl to talk to when he needed it. But as she blossomed into a young woman (in more ways than one), he found himself avoiding Victoire more and more. He just couldn’t keep up even a somewhat intelligent conversation with her. He just usually babbled off and ended up saying something like he ‘needed to study’, or he ‘saw his friends waving’.
Victoire was getting more and more recognized as it was. Star chaser, great marks. And Teddy got good marks (just not great), and he wouldn’t even TRY to get on the Quidditch team. No matter what his frustrated Godfather tried to teach him, Teddy was just never that good on a broom. He took after his father in that respect. Not only that, but his dumb hair embarrassed him 24/7, as he found out it changed with his moods. And this day wasn’t turning out great either as Victoire slowly leaned into Teddy’s mouth.
~~~~~Hours Zero-Two~~~~~
Teddy woke up, grumbling. Not only did he stay up late, but he had to get up early, too? He had double Transfiguration this morning. Professor McGonagall insisted they be ready for their N.E.W.T.S, and as much as Teddy appreciated the thought, it was still extremely inconvenient. He didn’t understand why they had to start this early; they were only in their sixth year. Not only that, but James constantly hounded his back, wanting to know everything there was to know about the school. Honestly, he didn’t know how someone as kind as Harry could have such a hot-headed and impatient kid. Probably from Ginny. He stood, and sighed. Here he was, sixteen, and buried by just school work, and Professor McGonagall somehow found the time to juggle Headmistress and Transfiguration teacher. He quickly gathered all of his supplies together, and headed out.
~~~~~Hours Two-Four~~~~~
Luckily, Teddy had managed to pay attention the whole class, and was one of the only ones to actually turn in the homework assignment, much to Professor McGonagall’s delight. Now he stood in the hall, enjoying the ten minute break between classes. He noticed out of the corner of his eye the only fourteen year old Victoire get asked out by another boy (what, the fifth one this week?), and having to politely turn him down, stating the usual, ‘I’m too young to date.’ Victoire looked Teddy’s way, and Teddy quickly had to turn the other way to avoid her gaze. He didn’t know what this was, not being able to talk to her. He felt a hand on his shoulder, and he flinched.
“Teddy, I feel like you’ve been ignoring me.” Teddy turned for a second time, feeling a slight blush on his cheeks.
“What gives you that idea?” Victoire crossed her arms over her chest.
“You hardly ever talk to me, and you just hide in the boy’s dormitory all day doing who knows what. I think even your friends are starting to worry.” Teddy shook his head.
“Look, I’m not avoiding anyone, I just have to study hard. The N.E.W.Ts are coming up next year.” Victoire scoffed.
“We both know that’s not the reason.” Teddy’s heart stopped. Did she know?
“Look, Teddy, I have Charms now. Maybe we can talk after the Quidditch game. You’ll be there to support me, right?” There was an edge in her voice, not giving Teddy a choice on the matter. Teddy nodded.
“Y-yeah. Of course I’ll be there.” Victoire gave him one last look, and walked off with her friends to Charms, and Teddy went to Herbology.
~~~~~Hours Four-Six ~~~~~
It’s not that Teddy was bad at Herbology necessarily, he just wasn’t good. As he stuck the plant that was trying to tear his arm off back into the pot, he reflected on what Victoire said. What was she talking about? Did she know about his secret crush he was gaining for her? Or did she believe something else entirely? He always wondered what would happen if he was dating her, and he could feel her lips pressed up against his, maybe on a snowy night with…
“Mr. Lupin, are you done daydreaming?” Teddy snapped out of his daydreaming as Mr. Longbottom looked at him quizzically.
“Yes, I’m fine, Mr. Longbottom.” He quickly perked up, hoping to not get detention. But Mr. Longbottom just continued on.
“Right, so to handle your plant properly, you should…”
He was too kind sometimes.
~~~
Teddy was glad Herbology was over. Now he could figure what was up with the whole Victoire situation. He had a free period now, which used to be taken up by Care of Magical Creatures. He had quit as soon as he could, much to Hagrid’s disappointment. Apparently he was the ‘Dandiest he ‘ad seen since Charlie with the creatures.’ Teddy was almost sad to quit, but Care of Magical Creatures wasn’t really Teddy’s strong suit either. He was good with the animals, but he just didn’t like it. In fact, most of the teachers had stressed finding the perfect classes for them, to prepare for their upcoming jobs. Teddy had no idea what he wanted to do, and no idea was coming to him. He just didn’t really like any of the subjects except for Charms. He had no idea what job went with that except for Charms teacher, but ol’ Flitwick was still going strong. He scratched his currently silverish hair, trying to feel how long it was getting since last year. Molly had insisted he cut it at Christmas, but Charlie just remarked that it looked good on him. He mentally told himself to stay on topic, since he tended to wander off, a trait Harry had laughingly told him was surprisingly close to his mother’s. Teddy continued the trek up the gently sloping hill that led to the Castle, ignoring his growling stomach. It wasn’t lunch yet, but this always happened at the same time. He stopped at the top, about to cross the bridge to the main area of the castle. He mentally reminded himself to visit his parents’ grave later, after Defense Against the Dark Arts (another subject he was severely lacking in, much to Harry’s horror). A couple of girls passed him and giggled. Apparently the quiet orphaned dude was still popular since Harry’s time at the school, as girls often noticed him. Not as much as those hotshot Gryffindor Quidditch players, but still.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Victoire scared the hell out of him, and he turned quickly to face her.
“Victoire, don’t do that!” Victoire gave her cute angry face.
“Hey, it’s not my fault you daydream a lot,” She pouted. Teddy used the time that she acted angry with him to observe her. The pale face with the freckles splashed across it and the hair that no matter how much she chose to neglect it, always ended up great.
“Hey, Teddy, you alright? Why are you looking at me like that?” Teddy looked back up at her eyes. The beautiful blue eyes he figured he could stare into for all eternity. Teddy silently wondered what his eye color was right now. Last time he checked, it was a light shade of grey.
“Oh, it’s nothing. But don’t you think you should get to class?” Victoire huffed, and turned.
“Whatever.” She struggled against the deep snow that fell last night, since early January often had the most snowfall at Hogwarts. Teddy cursed himself for what he was about to do, but he walked up to Victoire and picked her up, bridal style. Victoire gave an eep, but Teddy slightly smiled.
“Need help against the snow?” Victoire blushed slightly.
“Of course not, I could handle climbing up the hill by myself, if you hadn’t noticed!” Teddy smirked.
