In the land of Hoenn, there is a civil war taking place. There are four parties involved in the fighting, each taking a name from the Japanese Guardians:

 

The Milites Empire consists of the Elite Four of the region, and they seek to conquer the entire region for the advancement of their own power. They use powerful, fully evolved brute force and machinery to fight. Wallace stands as their supreme leader, and his charisma makes troops obey his every command.

 

The Kingdom of Concordia are the lovers of nature who hold a special power over Pokemon. They can communicate with Pokemon and raise them without the use of Pokeballs. They consist of few Rangers and tribes of Pokemon.

 

The Lorrican Alliance is the league of gym leaders from the region. They are a small and elite number that try to fight for their own power and authority, because they used to be the diplomatic leaders of the region. Once the Milites Empire struck, they lost authority. They will slowly disband and divide into other parties...

 

And finally-

 

The Suzaku Fiefdom of Hoenn (or just Suzaku) is the region of the Pokemon Professors. Here Professor Birch has trained a small army of students in the ways of Pokemon battling. They are the "heroes" of this story. They fight for an end to all the conflict. They stress peace and knowledge as the way of the future. As fighters, they do not rely on brute force, but on strategy and skill. Birch's lead commanders are Brendan and May, who oversee all of the classes and support the strongest members on missions. Many students attend the school, but only one class will receive the spotlight here...

Prologue: The Fires of Suzaku

 

 

“AAAARGH! WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!”

A fireball slammed into a home, engulfing it in flames. Milites soldiers stood laughing at their work, their flamethrowers in their hands. Suddenly something flew through the air. One soldier groaned. His friends looked at him. A flagpole had stabbed right through him and planted itself into the ground. The other solders looked upwards. From the roof jumped seventeen hooded figures.

“ Go!” their leader cried.

Quickly, the team dispatched the Milites soldiers. They cleared the bodies away from the flag. It’s golden phoenix shone brightly on the red background. The team stood under the flag.

“ Let’s go! Mission Apostle begins now!” they cried, thrusting their weapons into the air.

Littleroot Town was burning. Smoke filled the air. The Miltes Empire was trying to seize Suzaku’s stronghold.

Drex tossed off his hood and turned to face his team.

“Come on guys, the whole town is under attack. We’ve got to clear the area of soldiers. Split up and help as many civilians as you can,” he said. “We’re looking for their source of power. We kill it, we kill their weaponry. Divide and conquer.”

Drex spun his swords in his hands. His Quilava stood next to him. A soldier appeared from around the corner. He shot bullets towards Drex, but Quilava melted them with Flamethower. Drex cast a fire spell that knocked the soldier off guard. Drex ran up to him and stabbed downwards.

He pulled the blade out of the corpse. The hunt was on.

Kira watched from behind a building that wasn't burning yet, covering her mouth and nose so she wouldn't breath any of the smoke, her Celebi in her arms. cruel... So very very cruel... she thought. She removed her hands from her face and tryed holding her breath. "Biii..." her Celebi whined. "I know, Celebi..." she whispered to the Pokemon. what should we do...? she thought, biting her bottom lip. we can't just sit here, we have to do something... she looked around, but everything was burning, and it was almost impossible for her to see 5 feet away. umm... she thought. She continued looking around until her Celebi squirmed out of her arms and started flying around her. "Celebi!!" she yelled, trying to catch the Pokemon, but Celebi was to fast. It flew high into the air. "Celebi!! You're going to get us caught!!" she yelled. Celebi flew back down, staring at her. "Bii!!" it called excitedly.

Rau immediatly threw out his Swampert and began to douse the Flames with water ".........just keep it up swampert" he said as he took his position atop the mound and began to use the gun mode of his weapons to snipe soliders.

 

 

Alister smiled as he took his hiltless sword and ran off like a ninja holding it backhanded slashing his way through soliders. his toxicroak poisoning and stabbing soliders as well.

 

Hisashi smiled as he moved with sawk and Throh by his side as the 3 moved in unison punching an kicking their way through the soliders in a row. "Bring it!" he growled as he beat the crap out of a solider.

Some Milites soldiers turned a corner and saw Kira. He shot his gun at Celebi. The bullet flew towards the Pokémon but a boomerang flew into the air and took the blow.

"Tri Attack, Porygon-Z!" Hope called.

Her Pokémon smashed an attack into the soldier. He froze on the spot. Drex ran by and slashed his swords through the frozen body, shattering it.

"Come on you two, we've been trained for this. Keep on your toes," he said, returning to the main section of the battle.

Hope ran up to Kira.

"You alright?" she said, grabbing her hand. "Hows about we stick together this battle? Sound good?"

Kira grabbed her Celebi with her free arm. "y-yeah!" she said, nodding at Hope. Her Celebi was frozen in suprise. She hugged the Pokemon tight. that was way to close... she thought. She stated at Hope and smiled. "thank you." she said happily. She let go of her Celebi, and took out a PokeBall. "Sceptile!!" she yelled, throwing the ball in the air as the Pokemon appeared next to them. "return, Celebi." she said, holding out the Pokemon's PokeBall as it returned into the ball. "what now?" she asked.

Hope smile at her.

"We've been training for years, but haven't seen actual bloodshed yet. I know it's scary, but we've got to do this."

Her Porygon-Z whirled and spun until it faced North.

"He's picking up some energy reading," Hope said. "Let's follow it!"

The girls began running down the street. They passed a home with children screaming inside. The nursery.

"Detour!" Hope said, running into the building.

In a flash it was over. Her boomerang disarmed all five soldiers in the room. Porygon-Z launched an Ice Beam in a circle, knocking out the soldiers. Bodies lay on the floor, and not just bad guys.

Hope groaned as she bent over a young girl who wasn't moving. Hope's hand glowed green.

"CURE!" she cast. The spell had no effect.

"CURA!" she shouted, as the spell rebounded around the room. It hit about four kids, who stirred slightly.

"Healing magic won't work on the dead," Hope said, looking at all the corpses her spell didn't affect. She sighed. "Come on, we've done all we can."

The girls ran back into the street.

"um, where exactly are we going?" she asked. Her Sceptile followed them, running along side Kira. She looked at Hope's Porygon-Z. She started breathing a little hard. She looked at the streets they were passing by. "I really wish this war would end..." she whispered to herself.

Kugo ran with his Glacion, soon coming to a skidding stop. "Glacion, Blizzard!!" he commanded, as the area around them started to snow harshly. "now, IceBeam!!" he yelled. "Gla!" his Glacion cried, sending a beam of ice towards soldiers, freezing them. "Vanilite!" he yelled, calling out his Pokemon. "Hail!" he commanded, as the area around them was raining chunks of ice, shattering the soldiers. "were done here, come on!" he yelled, running to another area.

(OOC: Hey guys! Brendan and May are the team's technical support stationed back at their base. They can communicate with any of our characters via comm device, and our characters can communicate with each other via the same system. Mark the comm conversations in the way shown below with Hope, and color it so that it is easily recognizable. We all can control Brendan or May.

 

Drex walked up to Kugo and patted him on the back.

"Nice one, man," he said. "I've been itching too to finally get some action."

Drex's Quilava cried out nearby. Drex ran to him. He saw Quilava motioning to a wrecked building. Faintly visible, a kid was inside.

"Quilava, Dig!" Drex ordered. Quilava crashed into the rubble. Drex dove into the wreckage, getting very scratched up. He grabbed the kid's hand and pulled the nine year old boy out.

"Cure," Drex said, and his spell healed both himself and the boy. He put the boy on the ground, standing on his feet. "Run, and find a stone building to hide in."

The kid nodded and bolted.

"North! Porgon-Z can sense magnetic fields, and where there's a field, there's a weapon!" Hope said. "If we can get to it, we can shut it down and stop the attack!"

Hope pressed a button on her vest, activating the comm device.

 

Hope: Brendan, May, come on!

Brendan: This is Brendan. What's your condition?

Hope: Kira and I are tracing a magnetic field that we think is a weapon. Can you send backup?

Brendan: Our soldiers are defending our base, but I'll find whoever is closest to you and send them.

Hope: Thanks!

 

"Let's keep up the pace," Hope said. "The sooner we get there, the sooner these people can rest."

"where theirs a weapon, there's soldiers!!" Kira said, still running, even though she was tired. She Stumbled over rebuke a few times, but never actually fell. She looked at her Sceptile. "are you ready?" she asked, hoping her Pokemon could take it...

Kugo nodded at Drex before he left. His Glaceon began growling, soldiers sorroundings them. "ha! You wanna fight, then let's fight!!" he yelled, a grin on his face. "Glaceon!! Use Blizzard again!!" he yelled, the area turning into a snowy mountain once again. Few soldiers tryed to shoot them, but the Blizzard was to harsh for them to aim right. "you've blinded them, now you've gotta stop 'em!! IceBeam!!" Kugo yelled once again, excited about the battles.

Hope and Kira ran into an open field. They recognized it- it was behind May's house. Planted in the ground was a large crystal, shining brightly.

A horde of solders was guarding it. They opened fire on the girls.

Hope grabbed Kira and pulled her behind a building and the firepower missed. She then tossed her boomerang skyward, and Porygon-Z hit it with Psychic. The boomerang flew quickly and crashed into the front line of soldiers before flying back into Hope's hand. She smiled at Kira.

"Showtime," she said.

She burst out from behind the building and tossed a spell of Normal magic (Ruinga) into the crowd and there was a small explosion. She switched Pokemon and Togekiss appeared. A bomb landed at Hope's feet, but Togekiss, used Air Slash and it flew back into the crowd of soldiers.

Kira was startled at first. Then she nodded. "alright, Sceptile, we're ready!" she said, coming from behind the building. "Sceptile, Leaf Blade!" she commanded. She started to spin around, spinning in a circle until her sword appeared in her hand. Sceptile ran at a group of soldiers, easily slicing them with the attack. "Sceptile!!" it called with each successful hit. Kira weilder her sword, ready and waiting for the soldiers to come after her.

A soldier with a sword rushed Kira. He slashed at her head, but was sliced by Togekiss' Air Slash and fell. Still, another two sword-wielding soldiers charged Kira.

Kira smiled. "your call!!" she yelled, stabbing the soldier in the stomach. She yanked the sword out of the body, Wich fell to the ground, motionless. "try that again, I dare you!" she yelled triumphantly. Sceptile ran by her side, making her more fierce looking. "Sceptile!!!" it yelled into the air.

Hope smirked as she ducked under another slash of a sword. She smashed the soldier on the back of the head with her boomerang and he fell. Another shot a round of bullets at her, but she cartwheeled out of the way and tossed her boomerang at him. It lodged itself in his heart. Hope jumped forward and pulled it out.

"The crystal, Kira, we've got to destroy the crystal!"

A visor flipped down over alisters eyes as the data was sent and he watched it. "got it" he said as it went back up and he ran off towards hope and kira with his toxicroak close behind him.

 

 

Hisashi closelined 2 soliders and the beat tge crap out of them. "god this is lame where is the excitement?" he said as he grabbed a soldier and smashed his face into a wall. "eat it"

 

 

Rau stopped sniping as all the fire was out and then he switched to blade mode. He then recalled swamperet and sent out empoleon. "lets go!" he said as he rushed off with his pokemon

"right!!" Kira yelled. "Sceptile, Leaf Blade on that crystal!!" she yelled as the Pokemon ran towards it, slashing it, and shattering it in peices. "yeah!!" Kira jumped up smiling. "we did it!!" she yelled happily. Sceptile smiled.

But under the first layer of crystal was another. A figure stepped out from behind the crystal.

"Hello kids," said Wallace. "I hope we're entertaining you."

He pulled out a rod and sent an ice spell blasting at Kira and Hope. It crashed in front of them and threw icicles into them.

May: Attention everyone! Wallace has been sighted. He's in my backyard, literally! We need to get him. Go!

Drex listened to the message, but then he caught sight of enemy ninjas. They were carrying something. It looked like... explosives?

"Hisashi, ignore orders!" he called to his nearby ally. "I think I saw some explosives. You and I will follow them- I'm sure two less won't make them lose the fight. Let's follow the ninjas!"

Kira was barely able to take a gasp before an icicle went into her Stomach. She fell to her knees in pain, taking out the icicle, blood dripping. She coughed up a limitless bit of blood, looking up and staring at Wallace. She held the wound in her stomach, trying her best not to faint. Her Sceptile stared angrily at Wallace, growling. "Sceptile!!!!" it roared, running towards Wallace and slicing him with Leaf Blade.

Wallace smiled and knocked away Sceptile's blades easily with his rod, and then cast an Ice spell that immediately froze the Pokémon.

Hope stood up, wiping the blood off her face.

"CURA!" she cast, and hers and Kira's wounds were healed. She tossed her boomerang at Wallace, but he deflected it easily with is rod.

Togekiss launched a Aura Sphere from above, but Wallace sent a torrent of water at the blast, destroying it.

"You cannot defeat us," Wallace said. "Surrender now."

"never!!" Kira yelled, standing up. She stared at her frizen Pokemon. "Celebi!!" she yelled, throwing her PokeBall, Celebi popping out. "Celebi, Energy Ball!!" she yelled. Celebi charged a green ball, launching it at Wallace.

Kugo ran into the area where Kira and Hope were, skidding to a stop, along with his Glaceon. "run!! I'll take care of him!!" he yelled, glaring at Wallace. He smiled. "don't you know not to hurt girls?" he asked. Glaceon growled at Wallace. "I'm giving you a warning. Leave now, or get hurt reeeeaaalllyy bad." he said.

Alister saw the explosives as he ran to the group and using his own nija tachtics took them down

Hishashi looked at him as he punched sceptile and shattered the ice freeing the pokemon "no way! Im staying"

"Bastard," Drex spit at Hishashi and chased the rest alone across town.

While Alister cleaned up some of the ninjas, Drex chased the rest. As suspected they stopped in front of the lab and released four Houndours.

"Just as I thought," he murmured, "Dark types."

He launched a fireball at them, but the Houdours absorbed the fire.

"Drat!" he shouted. "I needed Hishashi!"

Drex drew his swords and charged the ninjas, the Houndours hit him with Dark Pulses and he fell to the ground.

Drex was picked up off the ground by Rau as he looked at the houndours "............Go Swampert, Blastoise, and Empoleon" he said emotionlessly as the 3 water pokemon stepped forward. ".........Hydro.....Cannon" he said as the 3 suddenly let loose a massive water attack that comletley tore the pokemon and their trainers apart. Rau then looked at Drex "......Ive got you back" he said emotionlessly which made hard to tell if it was to encourage drex or to just inform him.

"Thanks man," Drex said, and he rushed over to the explosives. He dug his swords into the ground and reached for the cables.

"Okay, I'm the best we have with explosives," he said, prying at the cables. They would go off soon, and there were so many!

Drex pulled out a knife and cut some wires. Almost done... Just one more line left-

 

-KABOOM!-

 

There was a massive explosion right nearby. One of the buildings of the lab exploded in a fiery heat.

Drex leaped to his feet and threw himself towards the explosion. Using his control over fire, he channeled the flames created by the explosion into a fiery vortex and then he crashed the vortex into himself. He absorbed the fire energy, but the overload of magic coursing through him made him collapse.

 

Brendan: Everybody, that explosion was at the lab. Drex has successfully disarmed most of the explosions, barring the one that just occurred. His control of the fire stopped the fire from spreading, but knocked him out. I'm sorry to say that the explosion had obliterated anyone in the room that the explosive went off in. I suspect about thirty casualties. Keep fighting! That power source needs to be cut off so they can stop sending reinforcements.

 

May: Rau, this is for you. Cease your fighting and bring Drex inside, now! He needs medical attention, and Curative spells will do him more harm than good. Please, go as quickly as you can!

Rau sighed as he picked up Drex and carried him off on his back. his 3 pokemon protecting them. "why didnt he just let me deal with the fire with my power? i mean it would have been far more effective" he said since nobody was around who was contious to hear him.

 

Alister smiled as he finished off the last of the ninjas "Hmph weaklings" he said as he sheethed his sword and headed back to the base

 

Hisashi continued to beat up the soliders
