In the land of Hoenn, there is a civil war taking place. There are four parties involved in the fighting, each taking a name from the Japanese Guardians:

 

The Milites Empire consists of the Elite Four of the region, and they seek to conquer the entire region for the advancement of their own power. They use powerful, fully evolved brute force and machinery to fight. Wallace stands as their supreme leader, and his charisma makes troops obey his every command.

 

The Kingdom of Concordia are the lovers of nature who hold a special power over Pokemon. They can communicate with Pokemon and raise them without the use of Pokeballs. They consist of few Rangers and tribes of Pokemon.

 

The Lorrican Alliance is the league of gym leaders from the region. They are a small and elite number that try to fight for their own power and authority, because they used to be the diplomatic leaders of the region. Once the Milites Empire struck, they lost authority. They will slowly disband and divide into other parties...

 

And finally-

 

The Suzaku Fiefdom of Hoenn (or just Suzaku) is the region of the Pokemon Professors. Here Professor Birch has trained a small army of students in the ways of Pokemon battling. They are the "heroes" of this story. They fight for an end to all the conflict. They stress peace and knowledge as the way of the future. As fighters, they do not rely on brute force, but on strategy and skill. Birch's lead commanders are Brendan and May, who oversee all of the classes and support the strongest members on missions. Many students attend the school, but only one class will receive the spotlight here...

Prologue: The Fires of Suzaku

 

 

“AAAARGH! WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!”

A fireball slammed into a home, engulfing it in flames. Milites soldiers stood laughing at their work, their flamethrowers in their hands. Suddenly something flew through the air. One soldier groaned. His friends looked at him. A flagpole had stabbed right through him and planted itself into the ground. The other solders looked upwards. From the roof jumped seventeen hooded figures.

“ Go!” their leader cried.

Quickly, the team dispatched the Milites soldiers. They cleared the bodies away from the flag. It’s golden phoenix shone brightly on the red background. The team stood under the flag.

“ Let’s go! Mission Apostle begins now!” they cried, thrusting their weapons into the air.

Littleroot Town was burning. Smoke filled the air. The Miltes Empire was trying to seize Suzaku’s stronghold.

Drex tossed off his hood and turned to face his team.

“Come on guys, the whole town is under attack. We’ve got to clear the area of soldiers. Split up and help as many civilians as you can,” he said. “We’re looking for their source of power. We kill it, we kill their weaponry. Divide and conquer.”

Drex spun his swords in his hands. His Quilava stood next to him. A soldier appeared from around the corner. He shot bullets towards Drex, but Quilava melted them with Flamethower. Drex cast a fire spell that knocked the soldier off guard. Drex ran up to him and stabbed downwards.

He pulled the blade out of the corpse. The hunt was on.

Rau threw out 2 pokeballs and Blastoise and Empoleon came out and Swampert stood next to them and then Rau walked up and stood infront of them "All at the same time" he said as he drew his gun blades. "do you accept this will not only be a quiz for me but it will also test you on your tactics"

"hehe sorry its just a habit" Fai said blushibg from embarrassment

Hope threw her three Pokeballs and out came Togekiss, Porygon-Z, and Delcatty. She pulled out her boomerang.

"Okay, but just because you've got guns and I've got a toy, don't take it easy on me!"

"Easier done than said" he said as he had already begun useing the sniping mode. "Swampert guard me! Blastiose long range assult!" Swampert held its ground. blastoide ran off. "Empoleon! GO!" he yelled as his empoleon used metal claw and it then ran forward "lets see if you can figure this one out!" he said as empoleon took on all 3 of Hopes pokemon in close range combat "I know Porygon Z is a natural Sniper pokemon for it is one of the few pokemon with the SNiper ability and so if taken into close quartes combat it becomes under pressure. Togekiss is a balace of close and long range abilities and delcatty being mainly land base and having its abaility cute charm only work with physical close range damage would be a good close range fighter. but say i take them all on in close range!"

Hope smiled at the oncoming attack.

"But what if you plan, falls apart?" she said. "You're forgetting one thing- Me."

With that, Hope back-flipped onto Togekiss which flew up into the air with Hope on it's back.

"Delcatty, Shock Wave! Porygon-Z, Lock-On!" Hope called.

The Cat Pokemon hit Empoleon with an unavoidable attack, stopping it temporarily. Porygon-Z's eyes glowed red.

Hope launched her boomerang at Rau, but it redirected and hit Swampert between the eyes.

"Actually why do you think Im back here?" he said as he had the sniper already locked onto Hope as he fired 3 shots.

 

Swampert was hit but then fired stone edge at Togekiss.

 

meanwhile Empleon recovered from the electric attack thanks to its steel type side and used drill peck on Porygon Z right between the eyes.

"Togekiss," Hope called, "Air Slash!"

Togekiss spun and created a gust of win that deflected the bullets and some of the stones. Hope had jumped off of her Pokemon and landed on Swampert.

"Ruinga!" she shouted, and a blast of white energy landed between Swampert and Rau before exploding.

Porygon-Z, able to contort it's body, managed to divert Empoleon's attack to hit it's stomach instead of its eyes.

"Delcatty!" Hope cried, "Use Thunder Wave on Swampert!"

A burst of white electricity flew at Swampert.

Claw had lost track of time of how long she'd been battling with Kagei. No matter how she tried, Kagei knew her every move. And evidently dodged them. Why isn't she attacking, Claw thought, what's going on in that mind of yours, Kagei?

 

Lost in her thought, Claw didn't notice her Espeon's accuracy decreasing with every move. Her Gardevoir was tired of missing it's targets and Gallade was furious. Concentrate! Claw convinced herself. If you don't, then...

 

Then...what? "K-Kagei, shouldn't we...?" That's when Claw had remembered.

How foolish, Kagei sneered in her mind, using the same attack again and again no matter how many times it misses. She and her rival, Claw had been battling for who-knows-how-long, the more she studied Claw, the more she knew her every move. She was waiting for her to let her guard down, that would give me the opening to attack.

 

Umbreon was enjoying itself, Espeon was fast but with it's master's keen attention and Umbreon's quick stimulation, it could pull through. Honchkrow was quite tired of flying around dodging Gallade's Psycho-cuts, they were awfully flimsy. Mightyena was longing to attack, without Kagei's orders, it could painfully detect the same moves gardevoir was making. "Now!" Kagei yelled at Mightyena, "Use Crunch!" Kagei found her time frame.

 

"Kagei! Wait!"

"What? You can't do that! This is a battle!"

 

Mightyena withdrew. "K-Kagei, shouldn't we...?" Claw stammered as she looked away from the trees of the little forest behind the arena. Kagei could feel herself again. Holy God! Classes! The Arena! She looked at her watch. They'd been late. So very very late. She immediately called back her Pokemon and dashed.

THe electricity hit swampert but then the charge just was shook off "Something you should remeber! Swampert is also ground and not effected by electricity now go! swampert strength!" he yelled as the pokemon threw Rau High into the Air where he used his gun blades to rain his shots down onto Delcatty and porygon Z as well as landing on togekiss's back he then fired a shot over to a hill in the distance for what seemed like no apparent reason.

 

Empoleon used its drill peck on delcatty nailing it in the back and firing bubble beam at Porygon Z

 

swampter then went after Hope with its Rock Tomb attack.

Fai decided to watch Hope and. Rau battle while she ate. "wow there really good" she said asshe ate her ramen

Togekiss shook Rau off of it and Extremespeeded out of range.

But suddenly Swampert stopped. It was paralyzed.

"You're so booksmart, but you forgot about Delcatty's other ability, Normalize!" Hope said. "It turned Thunder Wave into a Normal move, so Swampert was paralyzed anyway."

Delcatty grimaced at the hits, but Porgon-Z was able to dodge the Bubblebeam.

"Now, Zap Cannon!"

Porygon-Z launched a Zap Cannon wildly, but it honed in on Rau, thanks to Lock-On. He was paralyzed too now.

Hope caught her boomerang and backed away from the center of the arena towards where Togekiss had flown.

Rau smiled "Its over!" he said as suddenly a hydro Cannon hit TOgetkiss and it didnt come from Empoleon or Swampert. Rau then got waited the Paralysis out until it ended. "EMPOLEON! NOW ATTACK 00!" he yelled.

 

Empoleon got in a position where it had delcatty inbetween it and porygon Z then it let loose its Hydro Cannon so it hit Delcatty making the pokemon fly into Porygon Z.

 

Swampert was still paralysed and unable to move

Fai continued to watch

Hope had cartwheeled out of damage. She raised her hand.

"Cura!" she called. and three green pulses flew from her hand into her Pokemon. They each straightened up and Porygon-Z flew to her side with Togekiss.

"My Pokemon don't hit heavily, but with the right support, they're persistent, as am I!"

She called to her Pokemon.

"He's recharging from Hydro Cannon, now's our chance! Aura Sphere"

Togekiss launched an Aura Sphere, and Hope jumped into it. She flew at Rau, landing behind him. The combination of recharging and Paralysis had made Rau lethargic. She wrapped her boomerang around his neck as she stood behind him. Due to its curved shape, it fit around his neck more closely than a knife. Rau could feel the sharp metal edges the boomerang had touching against his skin.

"We both know we're evenly matched, and let's not fight to the death," she whispered into his ear. "I know you're going to worm out of this somehow and you know that I'll just heal back my damage. Let's call off the battle and treat our Pokemon to a nice rest. Sound good?"

"Fine" he said as he just used a cura and the paralysis dissapeare the the n raised his hand and shot but stopped "Damnit" he said as rain clouds covered the sky. "Blastoise you idiot" he said as he used his pokeball and shot the red beam of light towards the hill and it came back "I had blastoise positioned so Togetic would think he was a Rock over there and used him like an AA gun to take shots from a distance." he said as he sheethed his swords and recalled the other 2 pokemon "we should head inside he just used Rain Dance"

Fai clapped from where she was watching rau and hope "that was amazing" she said

Kira looked at Drex. "ya. That would be nice." She said with a smile. Her Celebi nodded. "bi!!" it cheered happily.

Hope put her boomerang in its pouch and returned her Pokémon.

"Well, I guess we both passed," she said. "Let's hope we can do that on the battlefield."

Hope motioned over to Fai as she grabbed Rau's arm.

"Come on! Let's all go inside! Where to?" she called.

 

Drex took Kira out to the Garden. He sat her on a stone bench and stood in front of her.

"Grass Magic is more complicated than Fire Magic for me, but I'll try," he said.

He held his hand out and muttered "Sleep."

A wave of white spores flew from his hand and washed over Kira. She started feeling drowsy. Drex shook her more awake.

"Okay, I've got it. Hold your hand out and say 'Sleep!' Feel yourself fill with thoughts of peace and growth. It's like meditation. It should be natural for you because it's your element."

He pulled her to her feet. "Go on, try it."

"Well its raining so i dont really know. I was planning on going to my dorm room. Actually why dont the three of us head there and just hang out." said Fai

"okay." Kira said. She closed her eyes and held out her hand. "Sleep." she said, white spores washing over Drex. She opened one eye, then the other. She smiled. "I did it!!" she said, jumping up excitedly. "bi!! Bi!!" her Celebi cheered.

Rau looked at Fai "what! Wait WHAT!" exclaimed Rau

 

 

 

Alister was enjoying the scenery.

 

 

Hisashi finished his lunch and went back to training.

Drex smiled at Kira drowsily.

"Nice jo-"

Drex collapsed.

 

"That's a great idea!" Hope said. "We should go see a movie!"

"oh dear..." Kira moaned. She ran up to Drex and kneeled down at him. Celebi flew out of Kira's arms and landed on Drex. "I wonder how I can wake him up...." she said.
