In the land of Hoenn, there is a civil war taking place. There are four parties involved in the fighting, each taking a name from the Japanese Guardians:

 

The Milites Empire consists of the Elite Four of the region, and they seek to conquer the entire region for the advancement of their own power. They use powerful, fully evolved brute force and machinery to fight. Wallace stands as their supreme leader, and his charisma makes troops obey his every command.

 

The Kingdom of Concordia are the lovers of nature who hold a special power over Pokemon. They can communicate with Pokemon and raise them without the use of Pokeballs. They consist of few Rangers and tribes of Pokemon.

 

The Lorrican Alliance is the league of gym leaders from the region. They are a small and elite number that try to fight for their own power and authority, because they used to be the diplomatic leaders of the region. Once the Milites Empire struck, they lost authority. They will slowly disband and divide into other parties...

 

And finally-

 

The Suzaku Fiefdom of Hoenn (or just Suzaku) is the region of the Pokemon Professors. Here Professor Birch has trained a small army of students in the ways of Pokemon battling. They are the "heroes" of this story. They fight for an end to all the conflict. They stress peace and knowledge as the way of the future. As fighters, they do not rely on brute force, but on strategy and skill. Birch's lead commanders are Brendan and May, who oversee all of the classes and support the strongest members on missions. Many students attend the school, but only one class will receive the spotlight here...

Prologue: The Fires of Suzaku

 

 

“AAAARGH! WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!”

A fireball slammed into a home, engulfing it in flames. Milites soldiers stood laughing at their work, their flamethrowers in their hands. Suddenly something flew through the air. One soldier groaned. His friends looked at him. A flagpole had stabbed right through him and planted itself into the ground. The other solders looked upwards. From the roof jumped seventeen hooded figures.

“ Go!” their leader cried.

Quickly, the team dispatched the Milites soldiers. They cleared the bodies away from the flag. It’s golden phoenix shone brightly on the red background. The team stood under the flag.

“ Let’s go! Mission Apostle begins now!” they cried, thrusting their weapons into the air.

Littleroot Town was burning. Smoke filled the air. The Miltes Empire was trying to seize Suzaku’s stronghold.

Drex tossed off his hood and turned to face his team.

“Come on guys, the whole town is under attack. We’ve got to clear the area of soldiers. Split up and help as many civilians as you can,” he said. “We’re looking for their source of power. We kill it, we kill their weaponry. Divide and conquer.”

Drex spun his swords in his hands. His Quilava stood next to him. A soldier appeared from around the corner. He shot bullets towards Drex, but Quilava melted them with Flamethower. Drex cast a fire spell that knocked the soldier off guard. Drex ran up to him and stabbed downwards.

He pulled the blade out of the corpse. The hunt was on.

Where's Kagei? Claw wondered. She's not gonna be surprised anyway.

 

But she had better things to worry about. The mission and her Pokemon, namely, Espeon. I just guess things should work out for the best eventually... she sighed in her mind and checked her Pokegear. Hyper Potions, check. Full restores, check. Pokeblocks, check. First aid, check. Pokedex, check. Pokenav, check. Shurikens, check.

 

Claw took out her weapons and put them in her coat pocket and made her way to the assigned area. "Thank you prof. Birch" she said as she walked away.

By the time Kagei had made her way outside, she had heard May's announcement. She sighed. "Great, I didn't get a chance to eat or hear that legend. Oh well, duty calls, let's go Umbreon." she said as Umbreon nodded and the duo dashed to the front gates.

Alister was just about to enter his room when he heard May. "..........................SON OF A- (i cut it off as if going to the next scene in an anime or somethin)

 

Rau stopped and then headed to Littleroot. "I was just about to get my book too" he said

 

Hisashi stopped and put on his jacket. then he smiled "its aBout time we get the party started again" he said as he walked towards LIttleroot. His cocky grin sprawled across his face

Fai heard the announcement "Aaaww we didnt get to see the movie" she said "Oh well I guess we could go see it afterwards. Right?" she told Hope with a smile. "and we should bring Rau with us too" she added

 

 

Yuri was atop one of the buildings when she heard May. "I guess its time to go no more cloud watching for us shuppet." she said as went downstairs and out of the building. then she headed towards Little root town.

Hope nodded.

"I think he'll find his way faster than us anyways. Let's get going, this should be an interesting one.

 

 

Birch released all those in his presence for their mission.

"Just return safely so that we can continue this conversation."

 

 

Drex nodded at Birch. He motioned to Kira and Claw.

"Let's get going!" he said, and they ran to their meeting point.

As they got there, they realized the rest of the class had already gathered.

Fai looked around "so what are we doing back in Little Root?" she asked Hope.

 

 

Yuri just watched everyone from the side.

Alister leaned against Wall of a building staying quiet as always.

 

Hisashi still had his cocky grin as he felt that he was better than others.

 

Rau was also on the side sitting on a bench half awake as he had nothing to do.

(OOC: I assimilated all of the character bios onto Page 5 of the Sign Up thread. Refer there in case you need a refresher about the characters. If anyone notices any mistakes, let me know.)

 

Brendan ran up Drex and handed him a paper. Drex walked to the front of the group.

"Okay everyone, listen up! The next mission is to attack an enemy camp on Route 101. It's halfway down the route. We're jogging until we find it, so keep up! It should look like a regular camping tent, but there's a tunnel underneath it. Keep your eyes peeled. Stay together, move out!"

Yuri looked at Drex "got it" she said as she headed out to Route 101

 

Fai looked at Drex "you cant be serious. dont you think it will be a little oblivious."

"Look, the tent is only to hide the gaping whole in the ground. It won't be guarded, and if it is by some chance, we can take them out quickly. Recon said it shouldn't be too hard to take over," Drex said. "They're manufacturing weapons inside, so we need to be fast.

"well at least we know that whoever is in there will be armed" Fai said

"She is right, They will most likely be armed and ready to kill us." Alister said as he Spoke up. "its only natural though we are Class- 0 after all they should be that threatened I mean for god sake where just a bunch of Teenagers its not like were gonna set a house on fire or kill somebody" he said

Berlitz jumped in front of Alister.

"We could just go in, guns blazing, pow pow pow!" she said. "They won't know what hit em!"

Hope stepped forward and turned to Drex and Rau, two of the senior members of the group.

"Guys, they do have a point. A large party would be too risky. Let's split up into two teams. One group will rush forward and take out the first line of defense, while the other follows behind them to bail them out just in case," she proposed.

"We'll risk a lesser attacking force then!" Berlitz complained. "We'll be too slow!"

"No," Drex said, "they're right. Caution comes first. I'll divide us...

Yuri was already in the forest with Shuppet and Dusclops using Foresight

 

 

Fai smiled "YAY Friends!" she said as she hugged Rau and Hope

"Damnit Drex you know im one of the best fighters here now what the hell is your problem!" Growled Hisashi as he stomped up to Drex

 

 

"Understood" said Rau

Drex glared at Hisashi.

"You and I both know that I'm the most trained to lead the front attack, and with our current chemistry, I don't think it wise for us to travel together this time. I don't want to die because of you."

Hope and ROCK moved to restrain Hisashi. Drex's party headed out first.

 

Shuppet, sensed the heat of the earth coming from the ground. Drex nodded at the Pokémon.

"This way."

The group came to a clearing and all that was in it was a single tent. Drex nodded to Berlitz. She stood up and tossed about 20 playing cards into the air. They spiraled like a tornado and lifted the tent up into the sky. Sure enough, there was a whole leading into the ground.

 

Drex: Rau, we found the tunnel. We're headed in. Wait five minutes and then follow us.

Alister took to entering the hole first as he was the most silent of the group, being a ninja and all. after about 5 minutes he came out and gave them a hand signal telling them it was all clear.

 

Hisashi growled as he punched and broke a rock "This is total bullshit!" he growled as he let his anger out on large rocks and trees.

 

Rau looked at him "Idiot" he said "somebody restrain him he is gonna give away our position" he told his team

"Nice work," Drex told Alister as the team descended into the cave.

 

"Hisashi!" Hope cried, "Stop!"

With a flick of her hand, his motions slowed and he was temporarily frozen in time.

"Whew, Rau, what do you think about that?"

She turned to face Fai. "Geez, playing peacemaker is no easy task."

Kagei headed in the front with Alister. She felt nothing new about this mission. Umbreon's dark circles glowed (if it was dark in there I'm not sure sorry). She was in Drex's team, though she'd hoped to be stuck with Claw, even if she was, she'd easily win over her anyday. She held her power gem close in her palms, careful not to hold it too tight. A slightest pressure could lead to a huge mistake. As she was moving she heard something shatter outside, the sound was obvious and loud. She turned back to see Hisashi in a cranky mood. Kagei sighed and continued to go forward.

Claw was feeling miserable. She was worried about Espeon, moreover, with her battle against Kagei, her Pokemon were not fully healed, any time their power points or even HP could run out. I'm so careless, she thought when she heard something shatter behind her. She turned to see Hisashi break a rock. "I thought our location was supposed to be...a secret..." she whispered as she turned to Rau.

"Our location is supposed to be undisclosed but as long as this idiot is like that we are screwed "now then how long can u hold him like that?" Rau asked Hope

Fai smiled "I dont imagine it to be easy" she said

 

 

 

Yuri jumped down with her shuppet behind her as well as Dusclops. .

Claw was too bothered by her Pokemon. Nothing ever bothered her about missions. "Well we might consider 'holding him' and 'holding him' fast." Claw said.

Drex and his team ran forward.

"Stop," he whispered, loudly enough for them to hear it.

They looked into the next room. There was a dozen soldiers there eating lunch.

"What should we do?" he asked his companions?"

 

Hope frowned.

"I'm not sure, but if we can just wait another few minutes we can get the signal from Drex and head on into the cave too."

Kagei thought for a minute. Apparently running inside any yelling Surprise wouldn't be a nice idea. "But if they are eating their lunch, it's hard to imagine them eating with their weapons... well, we can't take too much chances, they might as well have them just for situations like this..." she whispered. "My opinion for now is to hear others'. Then we might know what a better idea is. But it might take too long, I don't think lunchtime lasts forever. Whatever we're doing, let's do it fast."

Claw had time now. "Hope, hope you don't mind" she said in a low voice and let out her Gardevoir and Gallade. She quickly used a full restore on each of them and whispered, "You guys are gonna do fine." and returned them. And then she let our Espeon, who seemed a bit less cranky than earlier.

She bent down and smiled, "Are you okay...Espeon?" Espeon nodded and looked down thoughtfully. After a few silent seconds it climbed back on Claw's shoulders.

 

"Are you sure no one'll find us here?" Claw asked silently.

ALister Glared at the people eating lunch "They are all enemies" he said as he moved his arm as if he were throwing something and each time he did for less than a second a small purple line flickered and each time one fell until they were all down.
