He is conniving, methodical, cold, and calculated about his killing of his own family. He uses his natural charisma and intelligence to win people over and get the to do as he sees fit. He ordered the attack on a refugee camp, killing many innocent civilians. He is a villain plain and simple. He does amazingly treacherous and bad things for his own personal satisfaction of 'breaking free of the gods.' He is not a good man. He is a villain. His mind set is truly villainous and if he wore funny clothes, was a psychopath instead of a sociopath, and cackled he could be Kefka. There are no redeeming qualities of Vayne Solidor his actions are not noble. The goal he is striving for in NO way justifies the means he used, and I love defeating him. That is my opinion. Even though he is an evil bastard, I *love* that about him. He is a true villain that inspires me to beat the game just to put an end to him and for that purpose he is brilliant. I will not change my mind no matter how you try to present it to me. <3

Again, I don't think the ends justify the means

It's just that when you talk about evil, you refer to black and white morality, but Vayne has clearly defined and arguably morally defendable goals, unlike Kefka

I agree with V, its the most underated FF of all, in my opinion its better then IV. About XII..., well I founded a bit boring, but i think its main problem is being released after X, which is full of "The last great Final fantasy" by fans. Both were great, they just were at wrong times(FFV, i'm looking at you) or were super upgraded by a future game (Xenoblade chronicles)

Final Fantasy XII doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game. It feels like a serious history lesson or something on the documenty channel. ;/

Also, isn't overrated/underrated a matter of opinion?

So I guess I would say "FFVII is underrated imo"

I don't think the imo clause is necessary at all. Obviously if you're typing a view on something then it's your opinion since, well, you typed it. Anyone who can't realise that without you adding imo shouldn't even be on the internet.

On topic: I have yet to play XII but boy am I fond of the setting and character designs so I can't wait to play it.
