(This is a 1X1 RP between me and Stardustblade358, no one else may post here.)

~Background~

In our ordinary world, everything seems normal at first glance. But if you look beyond the world that you usually see, you will notice that our world is in a much worse condition than what you might think. Behind the scenes of everyday life, a war has been raging on for centuries between Demons from Underworld, ones who wish to conquer this world, and the Witches, the protectors of the magical world. The Witches are powerful women with the power over the many elements provided by nature, but… even though they have this power, they still fall in comparison to the overwhelming powers of the Demons. The only ray of hope that lies with the Witches is the prophecy of a child, a boy. This boy will become the great Wizard of legend who will smite the evil of the demons and end the long waged war, bringing a new era of true peace to the world using the power of the greatest magic, Omega. In preparation for the arrival of the chosen Wizard, a school for Witches was built in order for them to grow in strength, the 'Anti Demon Witch Academy'. Now, the Academy will have a new student, the wizard of prophecy.

Bio: Koyomi Valentine is a 16 year old boy with a completely average life and nothing particularly going for him. He thinks of himself lowly and avoids looking forward to the future no matter what. Koyomi does not like to believe in “fairy tale” stories that his older sister tells him, saying that it’s always a waste of his time, but Koyomi is going to find out that these fairy tales are the real deal and he'll have to deal with them whether he likes it or not.

Bio: Koyomi's older sister who is actually a Witch. Akane has kept all knowledge to do with Witches away from Koyomi, not believing that he would have anything to do with it. Even though, she persists to tell Koyomi "Fairy Tales" about witches and demons, but Koyomi often shrugs this off.

Kai stared, feeling awkward about her mis-use of magic. (Man, can't I get anything right?) Kai stuck her thumbs in her pockets, they being the only things she could fit in them due to the tightness of her jeans, and continued to mope all the way to her next class. "On the bright side, I'll be meeting Rose's mom next... She's probably really nice." Kai walked into the class and noticed that they hadn't arrived yet. "Oh well, I guess I can wait. So, after this lesson is lunch and then I have gym with Kory before the summoning lesson with Tenebris. Man, I feel like I'm going to be going by this order for the rest of my life." Kai sat still in her chair, putting her head against the desk before, and waited for the lesson to start.

Just then two pink haired people walked in. One was Rose,and the other was her beautiful mother. Her mother seemed peaceful and calm and sweet,as her hair color was slightly lighter from Rose's. Rose looked around and saw Kai slumped on her seat. She walked over to Kai. "Kai,morning. Are you ok? You seem slumped and down and glump."Rose says. Her mom walked by. "Rose sweety,who you are talking to?"Her mother asks,her voice was so soft and delicate,truely like an angel! Rose turned. "Mom,this is Kai,my friend."Rose says smiling. She then turned to Kai. "Kai,this is my mom."Rose says. Her mother smiled. "An honor to meet you Kai. My name is Mia. Nice to meet you."She says as she offered her hand for a handshake as her skin was so mousturised they were as soft as silk.
 

Kai looked up with a slightly confused expression. "Huh?" Kai realised what was going after a few seconds and found herself staring at Mia. "Wow~! So cute~!" Kai blushed as she shook Mia's soft hand without even realising what she had just said out loud a second ago. "It's nice to meet you too Mia, I'm Kai. Rose has been very nice to me as I settle into my new routine." Kai said with a small laugh afterwards and somehow found herself not wanting to let go of Mia's hand because it was so soft, but didn't focus on that because she was just awe struck while looking at her. "I must be dreaming~... So cute~... Like an angel~..."

Mia smiled and chuckled. "My what a dear you are."Mia says as she poked Kai's nose a bit. She then noticed that she haden't letted go of her hand yet. Rose noticed as well and laughed. "She can be pretty funny. You should of seen her yesterday,she really didn't even wanted to go shopping."Rose says. Mia chuckled. "I could imagene. My sister was just like that when I was a teen."Mia says. Rose then looked up and whispered a bit. "Her mom isn't here either so don't bring it up to much."Rose muttered. Mia looked down at Kai and rubbed her head. "You poor thing."Mia says as the teacher walked up and waved her hand. "Good morning class,mother,girls. Today we will be practecing how to heal simple injuries,just as cuts. Not extremely deep cuts however,but cuts that you would usually get while doing normal stuff,cooking or arts and crafts. Now you will see a scalpel on the table. What you will do is that the mothers will do small cuts on their arms with it,and the daughters will heal them back to health. I assure you that these won't cause any scars so do not worry of so. If something happens I will be more than glad to help."The teacher says. Rose stared and looked down at the scalpel. Mia looked down at Kai and carefully had her let go of her hand. She picked up he scalpel. "Well this surely will let me see how you are doing Rose."Mia says. She looked down at Kai. "I'll make an extra cut for you to practice as well,Kai."Mia says as she then made a cut on her left arm,and then made another cut on her right arm. A bit of blood fell down the cuts. She set the scalpel down and stretched her arms. "Now,do your best to heal girls."Mia says smiling. Rose noded and looked at Kai. "Lets try Kai."Rose says as she healed the left arm,leaving the right for Kai.
 

Kai stared as Mia made cuts in her arms in order for Rose and herself to practice healing magic, but all Kai could do was stare unhappily. "You didn't have to cut up your body just for me... it's too nice." Kai stared at Mia's arm, trying to focus on repairing the damage and restore her skin to it's silky perfectness. (I have to fix it, her skin is just too soft to have scars in them and she's so nice, it would be wrong not to help!) Kai narrowed her eyes as she focused on the cut, holding her hands over it and sending out what looked like a faint, light green glow. "Come... on..." Kai focused as the blood that trickled down Mia's hand began to run back towards the wound and slipping inside. "Almost... There..." The blood around the wound was gone and it was now begining to close until Mia's skin was completely fixed, as good as new. "I did it..." Kai breathed heavily as she lowered her hands, still showing that she could only barely be able to control her incredible magic. (I somehow feel that if I was in my true form, that would have been much easier.) Kai breathed deeply and looked up at Mia. "Does your arm feel better Mia?" Kai asked feeling the urge to ask in order to make sure that he really did heal her arm. "And Rose, I kind of did something in my last lesson... You remember what I said yesterday? When I mentioned the type of people I like? I kind of... accidentally... hit on Arsinoe's mom... Do you think I'm going to find myself in any trouble down the line because of that?" Kai asked blushing, only just realising that Mia was still listening in on the conversation.

Mia poked both arms where the cuts were once. "Wonderful. You girls are sure to enter into the next level of this by the time I leave. I feel just fine,Kai."Mia says. She then heard what Kai had to say. Rose crossed her arms. "I dunno. I don't know much about Arsinoe's mom. But I can certainly say..."Rose says. She anime-sweatdropped. "She's to old for you,Kai!"Rose says with a laugh. Mia listened and chuckled to herself a bit. "Arsinoe's mom? You mean Sanae?"Mia asks. Rose turned. "You know her mom?"Rose asks. "Why of course sweety. I used to deliver medicine to her ailing mother while she atteneded a high-class magic school away from home. By the time she came back I had learned more of her from her mother than she knew herself."Mia says as she then turned to Kai. "I know Sanae some-what well. She might think about it for a while,but if she understood it as a joke,she will laugh it off. But still have the thought in mind from time to time."Mia says. She smiled. "No need to worry,ok? I'll make sure nothing bad happens between ya. Wouldn't want friendships to be ruined,right?" 

Kai stared at Rose as she mentioned Sanae being too old for her. "Oh come on, she's not THAT old and who wouldn't be attracted by an appearance like that?" Rose scowled and Kai anime sweat dropped while holding her hands in front of her. "Just kidding, I know I don't have a chance, it was just a joke." Kai then began chuckling as she put her hand behind her head. "Oh well I guess, I'll just have to capture the heart of the daughter." Kai then turned to Mia and heard her explanation, nodding in agreement afterwards. "Yeah, I totally don't wanna get off on the wrong foot, that pretty much suck." After giving the room a quick glance, Kai turned her attention back to the mother and daughter. "Well, our lunch hour is next, right? That means we can pretty much chill now." Kai said with a bright smile, feeling as if the day was going to be really great.

All of a sudden, the entire world came to a stop as Kai was left the only thing still moving. (Huh? What the hell? Everything is frozen...) Kai looked around until a distinctly deep voice came into the area. (Koyomi Valentine, do you know the meaning of the word Nephelim?) Kai turned in a panic before realising that the voice had originated from her within her. "Who's there?" (I am... An observer, now answer the question.) Kai frowned as the voice was unable to provide a straight answer. "Well, when I woke up yesterday after my battle, Rei had informed me that a Nephelim is a high ranking Witch, natural born magic wielder. Does that sound right?" (Completely wrong! A Nephelim who is simply referred to as just a Witch, unforgivable. That whore of a Vampire has been lying to you. But I shall tell you the truth.) Kai was far from happy with this voice calling his familiar a whore, but above that, he wanted to know what a Nephelim was and why he was being called one. "Alright, then tell me, what the hell am I?" (You, my dear Koyomi, are a Nephelim, the spawn of both Demon and Witch.) Kai froze, almost like everything else had. "I'm a... What?" (Haven't you ever wondered why you never met your father? He is a Demon, one who abandoned you after having you brought into this world. And your mother was no ordinary Witch, she was one of the strongest.) Kai could only stare in shock as her left eye began throbbing, the pupil becoming a pentagram as the rest glowed a dark purple. "Who... Are you?" (I... Am an angel... One who has fallen from heaven... So very long ago. I'm afraid that the mistakes I once made have effected the whole world and now, only you can save it.) Kai's eye throbbed more as she held her hand over it. (I will be here if you need me... Goodbye, for now.)

At that moment, time resumed, no one even realising it had stopped. None but Kai that was who was still holding her hand over eye. (A fallen angel is watching me?) Kai thought as the pain in her eye began to die down, but it colour and the pentagram had not vanished, leaving a barely noticeable trail of Demon energy. "Well, uhhh, we should probably go and get out lunch now, lets go." Kai said as she got up, still holding a hand over her eye.

Mia noded. "Definately."Mia says. Rose threw her hands in the air. "Alright! I'm starving!"Rose says as she hurried out of the classroom and into the hall. "Rose darling! Don't run!"Mia says. She then turned to Kai and smiled. "Lets catch up?"Mia says as they made their way downstairs to the messhall. Rose licked her lips. "I'm eating a cheese Calzone with a side of coke,spicy chicken and BBQ sauce."Rose says. Mia chuckled and got her hand to her cheek. "I'll just take some spaghetti and meatballs then. Some water too."Mia says as she smiled and they got in line. Just then; "Come on mom,not again!" "Please ignore her mom,you're like,gonna ruin people's view of me." The three turned to see Kori and her mom standing right infront of Arsinoe and her mom,Sanae. Each girl was besides their mother. Kori seemed more worried as Arsinoe seemed embaressed. The mothers however had their attention on eachother. Sanae had her famous smirk on her face as Kori's mom stood there seemingly annoyed. "Your appearence disgusts me,Sanae. You always dress so accordingly even for just simple events! You reek of pride."Kori's mom says. Sanae chuckled. "Oh come on,Miku. You yourself aren't very well a show. Always dressing as if you're ready for a fight! I am truely surprised that you managed to lure a man to be with you. I mean,you're not even wearing shoes."Sanae says with her sharp tounge never resisting. Miku's eyes narrowed. "I don't need shoes. When I can kick your sorry ass right then and now."Miku says as sparks could be seen at eachother's glare. Mia anime sweatdropped. "Those two never really got along. Not even when small."Mia says. Arsinoe looked up and turned,her eyes directly going to Kai. "Kai."Arsinoe says. Her smile then turned into nervousness as she covered her face. "Mom look what you're doing! You're embaressing me infront of Kai!"Arsinoe says. Kori then turned as she held her mother's arm to see them. "Oh hey guys."Kori says. Miku and Sanae's attention then turned to the three. "Kai darling. Why hello."Sanae says. "We meet again."Miku says. Mia then clapped her hands together. "Can't you two leave your differences aisde for the sake of the girls,for the day?"Mia asks as she walked up foward. Miku looked away. "I guess one day."Miku says. Sanae chuckled before muttering to herself; "Lets see how long it lasts." While they talked Kori and Arsinoe walked to Kai and Rose. "I guess they never do stop fighting."Rose says. "Indeed. Its just an embaressment. I'm sorry you would of had to see that,Kai."Arsinoe says. "Whatever,as long as mom doesn't kill anyone."Kori says. She looked around. "Speaking of death,has anyone seen Tenebris? I would usually encounter her in World History but she wasn't there."Kori says. "Same with Demon Classification class,and she usually likes that class."Rose says. She turned to Kai. "Kai she's your roommate,did she mentioned anything about dissapearing for the day?"

Kai scratched her head, trying to think. "Well, I haven't seen Tenebris since yesterday and honestly, I'm under the impression that she hates me." Kai looked down a little, her hand now resting at the back of her head instead of scratching it. "I have no idea where she could be." Kai then looked back up at the group, her hair keeping her left eye hidden as the purple colour and pentagram marking from earlier still hadn't vanished. "I don't know why, but I don't feel very happy today. Sure, today has been nice, getting to meet your mothers and all, but something just feels... off." Kai wasn't able to come up with an explanation, but then shrugged it off, placing a hand over her left eye to make sure that it could not be seen. "Anyway, none of you have to worry about getting embarrassed in front of me by your mothers, I find all of them entertaining." Kai said with a smile before her eye throbbed with pain. "Don't worry about me, my eye has just been hurting lately, that's all. So, what are we going to do with this free time that we have on our hands?"

All of them looked down at Kai and looked at eachother. "Eat."All of them said. Soon enough all of then got their food and started to eat. Mia and Rose were eating their pasta. Sanae and Arsinoe delicately ate their food as Miku and Kori stuffed themselves with meat. Truely like mother like daughter. Rose looked around. "She's still not here."Rose says. "Who darling?"Mia asks. "Tenebris."Rose says. "Tenebris? As in Tenebris Daemon? The little demon girl  is here?"Sanae asks. Mia looked up. "Sanae you should never say that to such a child!"Mia says. "I'm sorry but I can't help but to speak the truth. Ever since her mother left she has changed completetly."Sanae says. "She's right on that point."Miku says as she ate her meat. "Mom,what did happened?"Kori asks. The mothers looked at eachother and looked down a bit. "It was 10 years ago,from this very day actually. Tenebris had never met her father. Her mother always insisted that he would come back,but..."Mia says. "Anyways. It was a normal day. Everything was fine,that is,until there was a surprise attack on the city."Sanae says. Somewhere around the school grounds,Tenebris satted down,alone and out of sight,thinking of the exact same event. She closed her eyes.

 

"It was a terrifying day. No one expected the attack. The bells didn't even rang." The people ran for their lives as demons attacked the city. Men fought trying to defend while the witches got here,but many were slaughtered as they were solely unprepared. "It was complete chaos. They were all over the place,as if looking for something." Corona looked out the window,frightened. She turned to see a sleepy Tenebris as she had woken up from her nap. "Mommy what's happening?"Tenebris asks. Corona shushed and held her little hand. "Nothing to worry,just some monsters. Now lets get out of here quickly alright?"Corona says. She was about to go out the door when there was a loud thump on the door. She gasped and took a peek out the window. "They're to close.."Corona muttered. She grabbed Tenebri's hand. "Quickly dear,lets go upstairs."Corona says as they ran up the stairs. They walked down the hallway to where the master bedroom was. "Now,lets hide in the closet ok?"Corona says. But as she opened the door,she was greeting by a terrifying Goblin. Corona screamed,picking up Tenebris and running towards the stairs,only to encounter another demon. She backed away until she hit the wall. She held Tenebris tightly. "Leave us alone!"Corona begged. One of the demons hissed. "Is this her?" " 'The Crown of Silver and Saphire jewles'. This is the one. She is to be eliminated,direct orders."One hissed. The goblin walked foward. Corona held Tenebris as she whimpered. "It's ok Tenebris,you'll be fi-"Corona says as the Goblin rose his axe. Corona could only let out a high pitched scream as she was hit several times with the axe. Blood was everywhere as red covered Corona's silky silver hair. Miracously,Tenebris was still alive. She crawled from under her mother's corpse,covered in her bood,and shook her. "Mommy,mommy!!!"Tenebris says as she looked up. "What about the girl?"The goblin asks. The demon in hood hissed once more. "A inpure-blood that reeks of human scent,yet the demon blood runs through her veins...kill her off. Remove such stain from the world. There can only be ONE. Two would be a bother."The creature hissed. The Goblin walked foward and rose its axe. Tenebris covered her head. She then heard a loud thump and screams coming from the goblin. As she looked up she saw a man with royal robes. The ruler of hell's emblem upon the medalion he carried. "L-Lord Daemon..."The creature in robe hissed. He rose his hand. "The orders were to kill the woman. The child was never involved. You leave her be."The man simply says. The creature growled. "FINE..."That's all it said before scurrying off and dissapearing. The man turned. He knelt down infront of Tenebris. He was handsome,had an eyepatch on one of his eyes,and had human like features,but was still unhuman no less. "I'm sorry,Tenebris."He says as he kissed her forehead. He then proceeded to lift his eyepatch,to see the emblem of hell upon it. Everything went black as Tenebris fainted. "It took a while for the witches to get to the city. Thank goodness they did when they did,however,the fatalities were devestating." Men walked into the Daemon home,there were heavy footprints of blood on the floor. "Hello,anyone here?!"One of them called. They heard a crying child. They quickly hurried upstairs to find a grusome sight. Tenebris laying there crying,soaked in her mother's blood as her mother layed with a frozen expression of fear,that would forever haunt those men.

"They says that Corona had hidden Tenebris away and used herself as a target. No one has been able to explain the dead goblin however." "Either way Tenebris has never been the same. From time to time some say they can see her eyes change red,the same red of her mother's blood that was shed that dreadful day."Miku finished. The girls simply stared,never knowing the full story until now. "Tenebris from then on has lived alone. No mother. No father. And when asked of it,she refuses to talk to anyone. As if she has a secret she wants to hide. I wouldn't blame her though,the poor thing." Tenebris cried in her place as she hid from the world,all that day,each year.

Kai stared before looking down at the table. "I knew something was wrong with today, but I never would have guessed... That it was that bad." Kai's eyes became dull as her thoughts drifted. (I feel so bad for her... Her mother was killed right in front of her... With no mother and no father, she was all alone... Just like me.) Kai's hands became fists as she became more frustrated. (But... It's not fair... She was so young and she saw something so... Horrifying.) Kai then got to her feet and everyone on the table looked at her. "I'm going to look for Tenebris, I need to talk to her. I'll see you all later." Kai then ran off, darting around the school in search of Tenebris. (Where could she be?) Kai had stopped in order to catch her breath. "Damn, I can't find her anywhere." Kai sighed before hearing someone crying in the distance. "Is that...?" Kai had found herself on the other side of the school in a garden of sorts. Kai began walking through the garden until she found Tenebris crying next to a fountain wearing a dress. (Wow, she looks pretty... But, that's not the best expression to see on her face.) Kai then nodded to herself and walked forward, not uttering a word. She soon found herself in front of Tenebris before getting down on one knee, so that she was level with her, and wiping away her tears. "You... Don't have to cry alone." Kai said in a very soothing voice, trying to calm Tenebris down. "If you want someone to cry on, let me be that person, okay, Ten?" Kai said with a small smile, appearing almost like a night in shining armour.

Tenebris looked up. Her make-up miracously stood intact through her tears. Thank god magic,a girls best friend. Tenebris stared,her soft pink lipstick seemed to have a certain glow,her grey eye shadow had a bit of sparkle into it as she had blush on her as well. She stared and wipped her tears,and hugged Kai. "It was today. She would be here today,but she isn't..."Tenebris muttered as she hugged Kai tight. "It was the day she would teach me to play piano,and everything suddenly was taken away from me..."Tenebris says,as the sun lighted on her more,it was noticable that Tenebris had cutted her hair very very short,only leaving long bangs to frame her face. She looked up with teary eyes that sparkled in the sunlight. "Thank you Kai...would you...like to come to her grave to bring her offerings with me...? She always liked meeting new people."Tenebris says. Besides the crying,this was as girly as anyone would see her besides the upcoming ball.

Kai stared at her blushing for a seconds before smiling. "Yeah, I don't mind." Kai got back to her feet and helped Tenebris up as well. (I never knew she could be so girly. I guess I still don't know her that well.) Kai and Tenebris began walking and Kai remained a step or two behind. (The way the sun made her eyes sparkle was so... Lovely. I can't think of any other way to put it. When did she cut her hair? It must have been last night while I was spending the night with Arsinoe.) Kai began to feel guilty that she had left Tenebris, who was obviously feeling terrible, just so that he could do what he wanted. "Umm, Ten, I'm sorry couldn't be there for you sooner and..." The thought that had lingered her mind for so long. "... Do you... Hate me?"

Tenebris looked at Kai. She looked upfront. "No."She simply said. "Mom always taught me that hating people leads to bad intentions,to revenge and from there on a downward spiral. So I don't truely hate. Yes I did got very worried when I didn't see you this morning. Your bed was untouched. But I heard from the hallway your laughter from the room. So I figured you were fine. Yes,I am a bit mad at you,but I would never hate you."Tenebris says. By this point they had reached to a hill where there was a tree on the very top. It was just beyond the abandoned garden,over seeing the school and the city itself. Under the tree stood a tombstone. It read 'Corona Daemon. Mother Wife Loving friend.' Tenebris knelt down and took out some lilies and setted them besides the tombstone. On the tombstone there was also a frame with Corona's picture on it. Tenebris wiped the dirt off it and setted it back down. "Look mom. I brought a friend."Tenebris says as there was only akward silence in the air in return. "Her name is Kai."
 

Kai stared at Corona's grave, suddenly feeling guilty as Tenebris mentioned that her name was Kai, thoughts running through her mind. (No... My name is not Kai... It's Koyomi... Koyomi Valentine... I'm a boy... A Nephilim... I'm... Not even human... So how can I really be called a friend.) Kai's hands became fists, becoming angry at both the demons who killed Tenebris' mother and also at herself for lying to Tenebris herself. "I hope... Your mom is watching over you Tenebris... It would be nice to know if you have a mother watching over you from somewhere." Kai then turned away from Tenebris to hide the fact that she was crying a little, her transformation magic wavering for a second, showing the outline of a boy from the back. (Get it together Koyomi, you can't lose it here. If I break down in front of Tenebris, my cover will be blown and then she'll see how much of a liar I really am, I can't allow that to happen.) Kai sniffed, getting a grip on both her feelings and also the red sword that hung from her right shoulder. "Well... Shall we go back and rejoin the other? They were pretty worried..." Kai asked, drying her tears before turning back to Tenebris with a smile.

Tenebris stood up. "Sure."Tenebris says. She turned to her mom's grave. "See ya mom. Enjoy your day,alright?"Tenebris asks. She then walked down the hill and looked back at Kai. "Lets get going,lunch should be over by now. We shouldn't miss our classes,right?"Tenebris asks as she walked down the hill. The two of them walked down as just casually,the bell that signaled the end of lunch. Tenebris and Kai walked by the GYM. "If I remember,this should be your next class."Tenebris says. Kai stared at her. Tenebris turned and smiled. "Oh sorry. You were dreaming about your first day the first night you spend with me in the dorm. Kai stared with an awkward look, especially at the fact that Miku was the only mother not fawning over Mr. Akuma. Kai approached Kori and tapped her shoulder to let her know that she had arrived. "What's going on? Is there a reason why your mom is attacking Mr. Akuma?" Kai asked curiously, watching the fight as it went on. (Wow, Mr. Akuma is pretty strong... I know that Kori could kick my ass easily amnd Kori's mom is at an even higher level... But Mr. Akuma is taking all these hits without breaking a sweat, he must be really strong.) Kai then smirked as she pumped a fist into the air. "One day, I'm going to fight and defeat Mr. Akuma."

Kori stared. She laughed really loud,then turned to her extremely seriously. "Keep dreaming Kai."Kori says as Mr.Akuma blocked more hits over and over and over. "Mom does this because Mr.Akuma and her were arranged to marry when they were younger. Mom is around 39ish,Mr.Akuma is around 35. Mom's family wanted her to marry Mr.Akuma because his family is known to be the best black-smiths around. Their swordsmanship is simply outstanding. However,she never ever got along. Just then Miku grabbed Mr.Akuma and sent him flying. He hit the wall but only ricocheted from it and landed gracefully infront of the girls. Most of the female student body droowling over his amazing power already.

Kai pouted at the fact that Kori told her to keep dreaming. "I'll do it, I know I'll do it. i can do anything if I put my mind to it." Kai then turned her attention back to the fight as it suddenly seemed to come to an end. "Those two have seriously got problems that need taking care of... And not through fighting each other." Kai held her hand over her left eye, trying to suppress her demonic power from leaking out. (I am a Nephilim... If Demon blood really does flow through my beings, then I need to reduce the amount of energy that's leaking out as much as I can l otherwise I'll end up getting hanged.)
