There's Pretty Much No Context for Zed

Posted

There is pretty much no situation where saying Zed is correct, besides the alphabet. Pretty much the only case where z is used on its own is in titles, where it is grammatically incorrect to pronounce it zed.

*sigh*

Talking to an online buddy from Canada I once knew, apparently Americans are the weird ones for pronouncing it "zee" when used by itself and in the alphabet.  But I guess pronouncing it Dragon Ball Zed would sound weird.

(When I saw the title, I thought you were talking about Power Rangers Zedd.)

Calling it Dragon Ball Zed is inaccurate, because it's a title

That's the thing, the word zed exists, but z is only said on its own in titles, usually, as such, there isn't really any context where saying zed is really practical

Well, I assume the folks who thought of the existence of "zed" have a reason for it.  It's just a mystery what that reason is, if it's not to screw with people's heads.
