Last night, the most well known video game-gala VGA (video game awards) was held for tenth time now! The host of night was Samuel L. Jackson as expected and we saw some other Hollywood-stars during the night as well.

 

We saw some new teasers for games such as Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Bioshock: Infite, Gears of Wars: Judgement, Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2 and many others. There were also two brand new games announced: The Phantom Pain and long waited and glorious Dark Souls II. The Phantom Pain is brand new game, the mystic video gave a lot of questions and unknown Moby Dick Studios is the developer of this game. The Last of Us got release date, the 9. of may 2013 in US. Also Half Life 2 was announced as the best game of decade.

 

But lets not forget what VGA is really about, the game of the year awards:

The best fighting game: Persona 4 Arena

The best handheld/mobile game: Sound Shapes

The best performance by a human female: Melissa Hutchison as Clementine (walking dead)

The best performance by a human male: Dameon Clarke as Handsome Jack (borderlands 2)

The best adapted video game: The Walking Dead

The best DLC: Dawnguard (Skyrim)

The best downloadable game: The Walking Dead

The best social game: You don't know Jack

 

 

I'm personally happy about this year's winners. Every game on this list was really good and really deserved their places on it.

I am also very happy about this years winners. I am happy borderlands 2 and Journey both did really well. I am very happy that Walking Dead won game of the year purely cause of it being a downloadable game and not a full triple A title like Dishonored. I did however feel that Borderlands 2 should've been nominated for game of the year. I am also happy Handsome Jack one best male performance. Overall very good year at the VGA and didnt have anything stupid like the teabagging.

I don't know if you heard about the The Phantom Pain Conspiracy theories yet, but the new guys Moby Dick Studios seems to be a ruse. The CEO of that company is reportedly Joakin Mogren. If you can't see it Joakin is an anagram for Kojima and Mogren has OGRE in it, the game engine that's supposed to be featured in MGS5. The ogre engine is not being used in MGS:GZ which makes it more fishy. Also when the logo "The Phantom Pain" comes up you can see that there seemes to be cutouts of the letters. Again it has been reported that Metal Gear Solid V fits the spaces. At the end of The logo "the Phantom Pain" You could see what looks to be a Roman numeral Five(V)

If this is MGS5, then yes a new AAA title. The trailer already makes the game look so damn amazing. MGS: GZ and then this!? Gonna be great.

I'm am extremely excited about Dark Souls 2! Dark Souls is one of my favorite games of all time.  I just hope that they don't try to make it any easier for the more casual players.

Exactly, I don't mind if they add another difficulty level, but making the whole game easier would just kill it. 

I hope that they will make PvP better.

I kinda like the idea of "everyone has to play the same difficulty."  I dunno why, I guess it makes me feel like the game is less of a game, and more of an experience/adventure?

I agree about the PvP.  I like how they did it in Dark Souls; the idea is great, I just think they could expand upon it a bit more.
