Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

Key Keepers:
Name- Joshua Akira
Age- 11
Gender- Male
Appearance- Posted Image
Key Appearance or description- A bright and delicate-looking white key with blue outlining across the entire key, and a white spade on the handle.
The white and light blue colors of the key symmetrically align with the respective keyhole-- yet is still opposing colors. Engraved on the back, reads: "I ask of thee; art thou mankind?"
Key’s hand seal appearance or description- White shape of a spade with designs resembling angel wings. Has a small blue orb on the "stem" of the spade.
Key Keeper of- Aisling Tornin
Sub-Weapon- Several daggers to slice or throw
Biography- Throughout his short life thus far, Joshua had always been the innocent but somewhat spoiled kid. He came from a wealthy family who rarely spent time with him. Even with other kids, Joshua had been mildly antisocial. He often thought to himself of many things and never really played-- only studied, researched and read; rarely going outside. That signifies his peaceful and formal nature. Obliviously to Joshua's parents had obtained a Phantom Book. Unsure of what the book was actually meant to do or say, hellfire came down to his parents' house, making Joshua an orphan. Joshua was able enough to salvage money from the burnt house, but was never able to locate the Phantom Book. Joshua stayed on the streets considering inns weren't decent at all, and the fact that half the town was of brothels-- which of course, Joshua is still too young to enter. With the money he had salvaged, food was easy to get and in fact, being spoiled with food as a kid and gaining money
afterward, Joshua is actually a bit of a picky eater. Shelter on the other hand, was the only problem. Hearing true rumors of newly discovered Phantom Books, Joshua's curiosity began to overcome him again. Back at the rubble and debris of what was once his home, the Phantom Book remained unsalvaged, however a strange yet seemingly important key was found...
Personality- Kind and sincere, always willing to help and protect others, whether they are the good or the evil. While compassionate and sympathetic, Joshua hates violence but knows it is at times, necessary. Willing enough to harm another for the protection of someone, Joshua still chooses to avoid killing one for it. Hating and fearing both death and the death of another, Joshua
protects-- yet with his own life at stake. If he kills or dies...it will be for the sake of another.

Name- Dante Enoch
Age- Unknown; 30's to 40's
Gender- Male
Appearance- Posted Image
Key Appearance or description- From a regular view, it looks simply elegant and intircately designed as if for a golden and silver angel. Looking
closer, a Roman numeral clock can be depicted.
Key’s hand seal appearance or description- A silver Roman numeral clock with golden spirals etched aroud it. Somehow gives a well-designed illusion of it shining with blue and red gems.
Key Keeper of- Hiro Shuiro
Sub-Weapon- A golden gun etched with Enochian runes and a dagger within the gun's mag.
Biography- Not much is known about Dante's past but the fact he comes from an extremely rich and religious English family and has a strange knowledge of the lost language Enochian.
Personality- Divine and well-spoken, he can be extremely polite and very cruel at the same time. Being of English descent, he enjoys tea time over any time, but deeply enjoys his work as well as the acting out of any other intentions. Despite his dressing and laid-back attitude, he is extremely agile and quick to react if it is needed. Despite knowing proper English, Dante seems to have an unusual knowledge of the lost language of Enochian. He acts the same with nearly everyone, including Hiro, but unlike the rest he is actually quite fatherly towards her. He actually seems to have a leniency towards all children, being even more kind and comforting to them.

Biblioprince

Name- Noah Himitsu [Haiiro no Yomihine]
Library’s World Name- Empty World
Age- 14
Gender- Male
Appearance- Posted Image
Library Name- Bibliotheca Secretorum
Rank in Library- Overseer and Custodian: responsible for retrieving/disposing of Phantom Books, as well as seeing that other Key Keepers and Biblioprincesses are doing their jobs
Gateway appearance or description- A simple cross when left alone, Noah's gateway reveals to be a flamel when activated by his Key Keeper. His keyhole is located at the very center of the cross/flamel, and is located on his upper chest.
Biblioprince of-
Sub-Weapon (OPTIONAL)- A pistol and dagger
Biography- Noah is surprisingly open to talking about most of his past, as it is, to an extent, uneventful. Being somewhat neglected was his only major problem with life, but even that hardly fazes him emotionally, but neglects other people himself. His parents were okay, never good nor bad to him, but because of the lack of any emotion or communication with his family as a whole, Noah left them for his Key Keeper.
Personality- While cunning and secretive, Noah will oftentimes neglect or slack with his position of the Bibliotheca as an overseer, but, regardless, will occasionally enforce this. Noah does his best to keep any and all secrets to himself, be it minor or major, his own or otherwise. Quite emotionless when meeting new people, and even talking to old friends, but can be caring, usually towards children and animals rather than any other human beings.

Neither Key Keepers nor Biblioprincesses
Name- Isaac Ghiral
Age- 33
Gender- Male
Appearance- Posted Image
Sub-Weapon- Many daggers (for skinning and dissecting mainly) and can fight fist-to-fist
Biography- Originiating as a doctor (psychology, alchemy, biology, neurology, physicist, philosopher, and even medics) from Germany, Isaac acquired a sometimes called "Obsessive compulsive disorder" for his scientific methods, and can be used to justify mass homicides. Despite being a bit German, Isaac never decided to join the Nazi's specifically, but is given corpses and the like to experiment on to his heart's content. Some want to find medicines and radioactive weapons based on the human experimentations, while others simply want the subjects to suffer at his wrathful hands. Seeing as how many are unsafe from the Nazi's currently, Isaac sees no point in letting them live, and so dissects Europeans on his own free time. It is said his wife and child died of illness, but as unlikely as that is... both have been seen beside him on occasions...acting human...but not like the people they once were.
Personality- Insane and psychotic, but can certainly be calm and collected. At times, he can be disturbingly perverted towards his feminine subjects and has an obsession with research, dissection, observation, and experimentation. As demented as he is, Isaac is feared by many and ultimately sides with no one. Those whom do, commonly end up dissected into pieces.

Sub-Weapon- Claw-like daggers
Biography- Raised a spoiled brat of a child, Lira obsessed easily over anything she didn't or couldn't have. Throwing tantrums all about, Lira was
always punished in her place and sometimes even neglected. She grew older to be somewhat lonely, and always cold and heartless. When her abilities were found out, she became a legend. Famous. Or rather, infamous. Torturing people constantly, some men dying at the hands of
their own "wives", and other people dying from their own friends or loved ones. Lira is a legend of emotional terror. Those abilities are not something to be born with though. They had to come from a source, perhaps from a phantom. A Phantom Book.
Personality- Emotionally cruel and obsessive, Lira constantly want to, and does torture people emotionally. By altering her appearance in any way, shape, or form, and being able to read through the memories of a person, Lira takes the form of anyone whom may be able to haunt someone in their own guilt and grief. Name- Morgan Etiam VInctum

Age- 24

Gender- Female

Appearance- Posted Image

Sub-Weapon (OPTIONAL)- A black hilted rapier, with the guard stylized as a flamel

Biography- Raised by an extremely religious family filled to the brim with priests, Morgan became about as devoted as possible to religious beliefs, with an eventual belief in the thought of solipsism. When her mother believed she had a supernatural encounter, she became obsessed with the thoughts as well, wanting to prove the existence of ghosts and ghouls, apparitions and phantoms. Morgan never believed in such at the time, but followed what her mom wanted to do, to a much greater extent. Proof...of...existence....
Trying to bring about chaos and bedlam across everyone she could, Morgan went to extreme heights to make the world seem like such a horrible place. She, herself, would never end in committing both virtues and sins. With the strong belief that if she made the world bad enough, if she performed enough virtues, or she was to be punished for her sins, Morgan wanted everything to be enough for her creator to reward or punish her for everything. Morgan cared not of the outcome, but wanted only for her maker to come-- so she could finally acknowledge her God's existence. So their existence would be proven to her. Eventually, Morgan left much too many trails of death leading right to her, eventually caught and held in captivity. Keeping many books from her victims after learning of the Phantom Books though, Morgan was able to have the authorities respond to every cry and whim of her's. They would listen blindly to their own prisoner. Escaping later on, Morgan wishes to take more manipulative and indirect means of bringing about chaos again...needing that proof.

Personality- Calm and collected at most times, Morgan is a complete extremist-- obsessed with her religious beliefs and solipsism. Despite her malicious methods towards proof of everything, Morgan can be manipulative, never taking risks that will hinder the performance of a plan. Everything done should go precisely unless impossible. Aside from the sociopathic side of her mind, she is quite fond of music, enjoying it pleasantly. Morgan is also extremely dedicated to religion, a true worshipper who judges others based on sin and virtue. Even so, some things Morgan knows is not accepted by her creator, and despite that, does them to work towards her desire for the proof of existence.

(Yup, I know. Thanks. From this post, I am starting our roleplay.)

Aisling looked up at the ceiling after feeling a rain drop on her head.

'This place is so old...it's almost a shame. Good thing I'm the only one here.' She thought, closing her book with a sigh.

Aisling was a lonely person now, ever since the ‘accident’ ruined her life...to an extent. At least now she doesn't have to deal with three boys (her siblings) running around.

"I'm bored..." she sighed, standing up and placeing her book in the chair she was sitting in, making her way out of the hidden room.

The hidden room of this mansion was probably the most dirty room in the whole place. It was dusty, there were gaps in the ceiling, and the walls appeared burnt. It looks as if someone burned up the enire room and then abondon it. When Aisling reached the top of the stairs, she found the handel in the darkness and opened the door up, stepping quickly through the door and into the long hallway.

"Nobody would come to this creepy mansion in the middle of nowhere, finding out that the Biblioprincess was in here. I am pretty much the 'gate way' out of this..." she sighed as she began to walk her way down the hall.

Maybe she would find her Key Keeper soon...yet maybe she wouldn't.

I traveled through the town, curious as always. Curious if I can find anywhere I haven't been to. Anywhere that's not a brothel anyway, I wasn't even ALLOWED to go in any of those! I let out a sigh and glared at the strange key I had found in my house's debris as I strolled past another horrible inn and a brothel. "I ask of thee...art thou mankind...?" I asked myself, reading the strange key's engraving. (Hmmm....who is it supposed to be asking about being 'mankind'? Me? Or someone else?) I thought to myself as I looked up and placed the key back in my pocket. A large shadow gloomed over me, the size was tremendous. I began to feel ad few drops of water land on my head. It wasn't raining yet...maybe it would soon, just sprinkling for now. Looking around, I saw nothing but this huge mansion, almost deserted in a minor way. My curiosity piqued, and of course got the better of me. With the quietude of everything near, I was easily able to listen through the mansion...I heard nothing. It wasn't late, or early...someone couldn't have been sleeping now..! I felt quite nervous about my thoughts, but I suppose my curiosity can, at times, overwhelm my emotions.

I creeped up into the mansion. With how big this place was, who knows what there would be, so I decided to take out one small dagger-like throwing weapon-- although, I used it like a regular one. "Hello...? Is anyone here?" I asked, echoing through the halls and walls. I smirked a little bit, "Anyone? Art thou mankind?" I joked. "I guess no one's home." I said to myself as I went to explore the rest of the mansion.

  • Author

"I wouldn't say that out loud so quickly. You might end up finding someone who knows the origin of that saying. So I would stop joking around." Aisling said, stepping in front of Joshua.

"Sorry to frighten you. You can stay here for a while, the rain is starting to pick up. I'm Aisling Tornin." she said with a slight smile, looking down at Joshua.

"I don't officially live here, it's just a place my father sent me to." Aisling said, grabbing Joshua's and and leading him to a place that looked like a kitchen.

"Your so young, I don't want to lose you in here. So who are you? Don't be shy." she said a bit motherly in fact.

Aisling let go of Joshua's hand and started up a fire in the corner of the room.

"Are you hungry, maybe thirst? I can offer you some things. I may be rather young myself, but I know how to cook some..." she said almost apologetically because she Joshua looked so lost.

She then turned serious and sat down in a chair beside Joshua.

"May I ask you couple a question, young boy? One: Why do you have weapons? And two...have you heard of The Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian?" Aisling asked the last question seriously.

This boy has her key.

Edited by Sodom

Startled, I slightly jumped back the opposite direction of the girl. Soon enough, it didn't seem like she'd harm me. "Oh uh-- I'm sorry." I apologized for joking that saying in here, I guess she knew what it was for. "Nice to meet you Aisling, but I don't think I need to stay-" I was cut off as she grabbed my hand and took me somewhere. I guess I had no choice but to stay actually. I don't think I took her 'don't be shy' advice all that well. I was nervous, and even blushed a little bit. "N-no thank-you, you don't need to do anything for me-- uh, I suppose keeping me in a nice place like this is enough for me to be grateful." I stuttered nervously, not wanting to bug her with minor annoyances of all things. (Too young? Just because I'm young I'm suddenly going to get lost..?!) I complained in my head but said none of it aloud. I responded to her first question, she just wanted to know about me I guess. 'May I ask you a couple of questions, young boy?' She asked. "Yes of course, by the way my name's Joshua Akira, or you can call me--" I was cut off again by her next questions. It didn't matter my answer, she was going to ask me these questions anyway. "Well...I've been having to fend for myself so I keep weapons around aaand....yes, I've read a little bit in a story. Like a hidden world-- or library holding knowledge of both the known and unknown. Even the alleged Phantom Books. So...why'd you bring up that old story?" I asked.

  • Author

"It's because you have one of the Keys. You have a key an archive. And I have a theory that you may be someone's Key Keeper. I'm just asking for when the time comes." Aisling sighed, standing up.

"Sorry to keep cutting you off. Joshua Akira. I can call you Josh? I bet that's what you were going to say." Aisling apologized.

"What brings you here? Nobody ever comes here. I'm sorry you have to fend for yourself. The Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian is an archrive, hidden within one." Aisling replied.

"Oh...by the way. It's okay if you stay here. Don't worry about it." Aisling said with a smile.

I took out my key and glared at it for a bit. The white and blue clearly matched me, but was actually the opposite colors of everything Aisling wore. "A...key-keeper...?" I asked myself as I then stood up after Aisling did, maybe so I could feel at least a little bit taller, despite Aisling being taller in the first place, and now. I guess I just feel worse when I sit down. "Oh and yes, that is what I was going to say actually, but you don't need to apologize, that happened with me and my family a lot a long time ago." I said calmly, but sadly on the inside. It was my fault for bringing 'them' up though so if I complaint, it would be to myself. "Just curiosity I guess you could say. Not to mention there are hardly any decent buildings in this town, aside from the brothels. Speaking of brothels, why are there so much?! It's like half the town is made up of prostitutes..." I said irritatingly. I then sighed, "Anyway, you're saying the Bibliocetha Mystica de Dantalian is actually real, right?" I asked curiously. "Oh and are you sure? I mean I just wandered off into this place without even knowing who's it was or who lives here..."

  • Author

"It's okay if you stay here, trust me." Aisling said, pausing for a second.

"As for the Archives...yes. They are real. That key you hold, is a key to one of the gateways." she said seriously, looking down at Josh.

"Joshua...I am a gate way. I am one of the Archives. I am the Kon to kuro no Yomihime. Let's not get to that now please. Joshua. Do you know of Phantom books? Perhaps you know...of The Shadows' Case?" Aisling asked, sitting down and watching the fire.

"The Shadows' case consist of demons...I guess that is what you could call them..." Aisling said, slightly looking at Joshua.

"Joshua....can you take me to the city--?" she was cut off as the fire suddenly went out, leaving them in the dark because of the rain.

"Joshua, stay back. It seems as if there is interference. A Shadow's case." she said, standing up.

I simply nodded to Aisling's first two statements. I became rather curious of Aisling now...a gateway, huh? Apparently she would explain that part more thoroughly later on, so that leaves me to think for a bit. "Yes, I believe a Phantom Book is what..." I didn't want to mention specifically what that book did, but I had to say something. "...had caused an event in my life before. Although, I was never able to find it in the rubble." I explained calmly. "As for the Shadows' Case, I've only heard rumors. I wouldn't doubt that they're true though, especially after all this." I continued and was confused by Asiling's next question. "You mean you can't go out to the city on your ow--" I was cut off again, this time by the sudden and creepy cancellation of the fire. I quietly slid out a dagger into my hand, "I'll only stay as far back as you do. You're not going anywhere alone." I whispered as I looked out into the dark mansion. "A Phantom Book..."

Aisling turned quickly towards Joshua.

"Have that key ready, okay Joshua?" Aisling asked, pulling the dagger out of her pocket as a shadow like lion made it's way into the room.

"That is the work of a phantom book. Come on Joshua!" she yelled, grabbing his hand and running towards the lion, it letting us run right past it.

Aisling ran with Joshua through the halls, and the Shadow followed them.

"Joshua! Use the key! I know now! You are my key keeper! Read the key. Please hurry Joshua!" Aisling begged, sitting Joshua down as the Lion caught a glimpse of them.

I nodded and took out the key, gripping it tightly. But what was it for?! I might have that answer soon enough! Throwing a dagger to the lion, it dodged easily. The thing was fast! "A lion?! This Phantom Book summoned a lion?!" I complaint as I followed Aisling. I threw another dagger to the incoming lion, only grazing it. "Okay, so these aren't working...!" I continued following Aisling through the halls. We went into a room quickly and the shadow lion followed, stalking us. I was nervous, I didn't know what to do, and Asiling began to beg-- pleading for me to do something. Zoned out for a split second, I began to actually process what she was saying and held the key in my hand. "I ask of thee...art thou mankind?!" I read the engraving once again, and my subconscious mind took over for a moment. I placed the key into the keyhole on Aisling's side, it symmetrically aligning-- perfectly. What would happen next...?

Good...Joshua was her Key Keeper. Aisling stared at Joshua.

"Nay...I am the World...The Lost World! The Archives who hold 55,555 Phantom Books. Open the Gates." Aisling seemed to call as a red covered book appeared in Joshua's hand. There was a small burst of light and Joshua now had a small seal on his hand."Banish the lion, and burn the book." Aisling called, sitting on the ground next to Joshua, appearing to be in pain.Having someone take a book out of someone's body hurts like hell."Phantom books have forms, some can even posses people..." Aisling explained.

(I'm going to make up the words of this book o-o)

I was startled and surprised, but somehow relieved and happy that all of this was happening. I soon held a book in my hands, 'The King's Exile.'"Banish the lion...?" I asked, a bit weirded out. I understood burning it after...well we'll see how it goes. I flipped the pages of the book and read along, the lion vanishing gradually. "Does one exile, and does one get exiled? To be banished from a domain, no one truly owns the domain. It is property of God, and yet us humans...us foolish humans choose to act otherwise. A king, ruler of a land with an iron fist and his tyranny. The poor people did nothing, they could not to a thing. The king owned not a mere land, but what we call the world. It was a lost world. Foolish humans...foolish humans like the king dared to rule over all. Whom would overthrow him? None. As there were no true rulers. Despite this, exile is all but true. You cannot be exiled from one and not the other. Yes...a banishment over all. Our graceful lord, our God, he is the true one to banish. With our lord, our God, the tyrannous king was banished-- from existence. Only he, only our God banishes. But I plea, O Lord, banish this creature. Banish this...phantom." And with that, the lion faded from existence. I was still shocked as ever, despite me being the one to read it. With the Phantom gone, I turned to Aisling, "Are you okay?"

(I would just make it up @_@)

"Yes, I'm okay. It hurt having a book pulled out of you forcefully. But I'm fine. That was the work of a Phantom Book. Now do you know what I was talking about?" Aisling asked, standing up.

"Good job. You did everything correctly. You are my Key Keeper...meaning that you will have to make sure that nobody see's your hand mark...unless you want them to potentially kill us. People have despised Key Keepers and Biblioprincesses for ages, that is partially what happened to the once last Key Keepers, he got practically killed by another Key Keeper. Be careful, Joshua." Aisling warned, pointing to the hand seal on his left hand.

"You were asking me something about the city? I am not allowed to go out into the city because most people can tell that I am the Kon to kuro no Yomihime, The Black Library." Aisling said bluntly.

(Yeah, I DID make it up...)

"I can imagine. I saw you flinch a bit when I got the book." I said as I started the fire back on. "So this book is a pop-up apparently." I said as I scanned through the pages. Do all Phantom Books literally pop things up? I mean...I think the Phantom Book I've seen was different. And this one is clearly a pop-up book, I doubt all 55,555 of your Phantom Books are like that." I said as I held the book in my hand, ready to throw it into the fireplace to burn. "Hmm..." I thought for a second then pulled out gloves from my pocket. "It gets cold out so I had brought these gloves from my house, a lot of stuff survived the Book, aside from the house itself." I said as I put on the two gloves, covering my hands and the seal. It, and the gloves actually matched the key a bit. I placed the key back in my pocket. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to be careful. I'll probably be protecting you more so than myself though." I said calmly, sitting down by the warm fire. "And by the way, I'll definitely take you out to the city. I'll let you choose where to go."

(If It was me in that situation, I would have to make it up, Just saying...)

"No, they're not all pop-up books. It is quite funny. We need to despose of these, burn them." Aisling said, slightly observing the book, sitting down beside Joshua.

"I'm sorry I just drew you into a mere death hole. Oh, by the way, I don't know a lot about the city, so anywhere would be okay. We'll go tomorrow, both of us." she said, standing up.

"Joshua, if you have nowhere to go, you can stay here if you need to." Aisling said quietly as another rain drop fell on her head.

I looked down on the book I held, and used to magically banish a lion earlier. "I've had so many books in my short lifetime. One burned me, but I never got a chance to burn one back. Here we go." I said casually and nonchalantly as I tossed it into the flames as if I were throwing a javelin under-hand, even making a slight sound effect. "I told you, you don't need to apologize for anything. Aside from the fact I almost got killed and would probably be gnawed on like a chicken bone, its actually been pretty interesting, maybe a little fun too." I said, hoping she knew where to go in the city exactly. "I'll leave it up to you between a crappy inn a few blocks away or the streets. The rest of the town is of coffee shops, other people's houses, and brothels. I always wondered what a brothel was like...but I'm not allowed to go into one for like, what? Seven years? Or maybe ten? I don't know." I said nonchalantly. "Thank-you for all the hospitality by the way, Aisling. Are you hungry?"

"Y--Yes...and your welcome. Joshua, you know you don't have to worry about me." Aisling said, watching the fire again.

"And Joshua...I am older then you...but may I ask...what is a brothel? I'm sorry if it's hard to explain or you just don't know...just curious..." she said confused.

She looked at Joshua for a bit, then sighed and turned back to the fire.

"So the city isn't that nice? Just some old shops and stuff? There is always something else you could find." Aisling said enthusiastically.

I made a slight chuckle and sat in front of the fire. "You don't know what a brothel is?" I laughed, now almost cracking up. "In hindsight, you probably SHOULDN'T know what a brothel is! You're sure as Hell never going to one! Most guys in this town do when they're older though. Yeah...I'm probably not going to tell you!" I chuckled. "I'm sure you'll see brothel signs on the streets though. If you do, you'll probably kill me. I'm just curious, I don't exactly want to be...'serviced' there, I KNOW I'm too young for that." I smiled a bit, still at the fact of her being so confused. "Anyway, I'm sure the city's still better than being stuffed in here for a lifetime..." I continued. "We might find something, I haven't seen ALL of the town. This is actually the first time I've seen this place." I referred to the mansion as I lied on the rug near the fire as I played with the key a bit.

Aisling started laughing a bit as well due to Joshua's reaction.

"Well I probably shouldn't have asked that. Sorry. This is embarrassing. You shouldn't have brought that up. Joshua, you are eleven years old, you shouldn't be talking about that kind of stuff. I don't want to hear any of that EVER AGAIN, okay?" Aisling scolded, pointing her index finger at Joshua.

"I cannot believe you have knowledge of that...What has society taught you poor children...?" Aisling mumbled, looking at Joshua play with the key.

"That key is like your life, if you lose it, then you will surely die, so be careful with it." she said.

There was silence again as Aisling watched the fire, she seemed to be fascinated by the flames even though fire is not native to her.

"This place is pretty hidden, I'm not surprised this is the first time you saw this place." Aisling said seriously.

I started to chuckle even nore with Aisling's response. "Hey hey hey, slow down! Just look ar the town when we get out! There are so many brothels, I'm bound to know WHAT a brothel is! And I told you I don't want to be serviced there or anything, how did you come to know what it was so suddenly?" I asked as I stopped messing with the key right after her next statement. (She called me a child...and she's only three years older than me!) I thought to myself in complaint. I placed the key in my pocket and stood up from the ground. I nodded and gulped, "In that case I should probably look for some string or something to tie the key around my neck..." I said as I looked around, it getting quiet all of a sudden. By the fireplace, I noticed the string that used to be wrapped around the book to hold the pages together. I picked it up and tied it on my neck, placing the key over my shirt but under the collar. "So then, if we're leaving tomorrow we should probably get some rest, right?"

Aisling was silent, until Joshua asked the last question.

"Yes, that would be a good idea. Sorry I had to bring that topic up. It is best we not talk about that kind of stuff, it is inappropriate and shall not be talked about in this mansion. Okay? Sorry to deceive you." Aisling apologized.

"If you would like, I will lead you to your room, it's easy to get lost and this place is a wreck. Let's just hope no Shadow Case's happen tonight." she said, looking over to Joshua.

"Well, today has been interesting...you wondered here, ending up to be my Key Keeper, and then we were tested by a Phantom Book, and then you brought that topic up...today has been weird...for me at least..." Aisling sighed.

I looked at Aisling strangely, this was the first out of all this time she decided to use the mansion as backdrop inappropriate for topics. I suppose she wanted to change the topic, I was feeling a bit awkward myself. "Yeah, of course." I said with a sigh, seeing as how she was trying to apologize again. I guess there would be no point in constantly telling her to not apologize. I nodded to her offer and wondered what 'my room' would be like...this WAS a mansion after all. "Yeah I could say the same, both interesting and strange." I said, referring to everything that's happened today. It didn't even start too long ago as well. "Well with that Phantom Book happening not long ago, I guess I'm a bit exhausted." I said as I pandiculated [Yawned and stretched] and followed Aisling. The Black Library. A Biblioprincess. I guess she had a lot to refer her as.

"Don't get lost in here, go to the kitchen in the morning, you probably won't be able to memorize this place at all...um...oh, there might be some extra clothes in the room I'm sending you to, the bathroom is two doors down the room I am sending you to. If you see any sign of a Shadows' Case, run. I will be on the other side of the mansion, that is where my room is. See you in the morning." Aisling explained, opening a door at the end of a hall after walking up two flights of stairs.

"Remember what I told you, okay?" she said, pushing Joshua into the room and turning around and walking off, keeping Joshua's door open in case he wanted to tell her something else before she was to far.
