Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian~ The ‘Shadows' Case’ ~ [A 1x1 between Neko-chan and CloakedSchemerX]

Posted

-Introduction-
In England after World War I, Hugh Anthony Disward, also known as Huey, has finished his travels with Dalian and is currently watching her in good health. Hal Kamhout and Flamberge have finished off most of the Phantom Books, but it is still unknown if any still exist. ‘Professor’ and Rasiel have not been seen after the printer-company incident. The girl from the archives still is held within Dalian and the archives are still to access. A new Biblioprincess has been chosen, with a new Key Keeper. After discovery of hundreds of more Phantom Books, what news reporters called ‘The Shadow Case’, has traumatized many villagers and the new, unknown Key Keeper is being called out by the Biblioprincess, The Shadow Case, will have to be taken care of, also the effects of The Shadow Case.

-‘The Shadow Case’-
The Shadow Case takes place of demoniac shadows that come in different forms, some even possessing humans. Effects of the Shadow case include these shadows becoming monsters, burning down towns, causing reverse effects that should not be held in this world. The world is going out of balance because of this case all because of Phantoms Books. That is where the Biblioprincess and Key Keeper come in.

-Author’s Note-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYqg97kSGuA Lyrics:

Miku:

Still...You are...All alone..

The sky is so blue
If only you knew it
If only you knew it...ahh

Meiko:

Where am I?
Even though the sky is blue
What I see is burned sand and rock face

The winds howl
Even though the horizon is far away
I was moved

Dried lakes
Burning fields
Someday they all will get back on the track
So, now I go forward

Even to the far future
There is a way to link
So, do not turn around
We can go through it

Len:

For everybody
That's what they said but...

In the starless sky
Light is overflowing
Since when
Have we been deserted?

The ladder that reaches to the end of the sky
I can't ascend it
In the cold world, holding hands,
We live today as always
We're not lifeless

(Stars, falling stars)

Someone, please give me courage
To face forward without turning back
The iron giant should shake the earth,
Disturb the atmosphere and follow

Even so I'd rather go with someone laughing
Than living all alone
Kick the earth to get onto the atmosphere
Believing in a fate that I can meet you

(Woah woah woah, I read that as your sister HAS this book, but then...wait-- your last name is Wilkie, right? Grace Wilkie I think...)Evermore was a lonely child. She grew up cursed, unloved, and wild. But she had a heart as pure as snow,Her love lasted everafter,But alas, the world was blind,And let Evermore slip behindAfter that stanza, I looked slightly up to Aisling and the fire, staring into it blankly, as if it was burning me from afar, and paralyzing me with fear, panic, and worry. I simply nodded to Aisling after snapping out of whatever false reality the flames seemed to drag me into. "Yeah, we've been caught up with Germans, Margaret, and Anthea, we haven't even seen the work of `The Shadows' Case` in a while." I told Aisling blandly, skipping past the flames and only looking at Aisling, the book, or the man fixing our window."Yes. Buying it. I am a Keykeeper. I buy your food, drive you around, protect you, straighten you up, discipline you, and either shoot or slice people so that you can live." Margaret explained thoroughly but still heartlessly.

(My sister PUBLISHED the book...she doesn't just have it :3 oh and the man is gone... and yes that is my name, However nobody will know my real name.)

"Let's hope nothing happens tonight having to do with the case." Aisling said.

"Yes mam!" Anthea snapped after Margaret said that.

She was true.

(short post//shot)

(Yeah I know I looked back at the author and realized it, thats why i asked. Tell your sister she's a good poet)

"Well that guy was fast." Joshua remarked, seeing the window. "And Aisling..." Joshua said quietly, looking slightly at the floor of the foyer. "...I didn't know you could be so frightening...." Joshua said, referring to earlier before meeting the man. Thinking about it, he kind of wondered why she called him a foul child of all things, quite so suddenly. "Try not to jinx it either, Aisling." Joshua replied to Aisling statement on `The Shadows' Case’. Closing the Darkside of January, Joshua stood up and glanced across the hall. "Goodnight, I suppose." He muttered before slowly strolling off to his room, instead of Aisling's again.

"Tch." Margaret scoffed and drove down further until they stood at a small gate. "I'm getting a cheap apartment." Margaret said simply and walked to a small office-like building-- or rather, office-like room.

  • Author

Aisling sat in silence after Joshua left, staring at the fire with her dim eyes.

"Yes...That is the worser side of me. I'm just paranoid now..." she said quietly to herself.

Aisling shouldn't have gone off. Joshua was just a child...well...kind of.

Without a word, Aisling stood up and started putting the candles out, the fire would die out itself. After this, she headed to her room.

"I understand Margaret." Anthea smiled.

As her and Margaret approached the office room, Anthea slightly hid behind her keykeeper.

I slowly walked over to my room and opened the door. I only closed the door behind me about seventy-percent of the way, letting the dim light of the fire keep my room from getting pitch-black. I covered myself in the sheets and blankets, sleeping on the side where I could see the faint light. "Germans...Margaret and Anthea...The Shadows' Case...they're all...mean." I mumbled to myself, trying to think of a better word. (I wonder how Margaret and Anthea have been doing since the Germans anyway....) I thought quietly to myself as my eyes gradually weighed down.

"Well f*ck you too." Margaret finished the conversation when she got a slightly worse apartment for a higher price. She would've...negotiated a bit further...but the place was full of authorities that would take her in, despite her being a Libricide Officer. "Come on Anthea." She called out, walking over to a small building, unlocking it, and walking in. The apartment wasn't too terrible, just small . "F*ck them to Hell."

  • Author

"Margaret...you are really mean..." Anthea complained.

Immediately, she began running around the house, opening and closing doors.

"I call this room!" she yelled with a smile.

It wasn't the biggest room, but it was rather large.

"Maragert...where are we going to sleep...we have no furniture..." she sighed.

Aisling opened the door to her room, getting changed and then laying on her bed. The door was half-open. If anything bad happened to Joshua, she might as well be dead.

She wrapped herself up this time in the blankets, not the sheets.

"I'm sorry Joshua...I am such a dunce. Why do you think they call me the Navy and BLACK library...? Maybe because that is who I really am after all of this insane stuff. This is my fault Joshua for putting your life in danger. You shouldn't be here with me..." Aisling whispered quietly to herself, soon falling into a dreaded silent sleep.

||——————————||

The next morning, Aisling was still half asleep in her bed, curled up. The bright morning sun blinded her, she trying to hide under the blankets. She wasn't getting up any time soon.

"Oh, that. I made sure that we were next to a generous apartment that happened to have customers earlier today." Margaret grinned and glanced at Anthea's 'called' room, ensuring it wasn't the master bedroom which would be Margaret's. "Come on, no one's there right now." Margaret called out to Anthea, opening a side window and jumping through it, opening a side window on the next apartment and jumping in. With strength that looked as if it didn't belong to Margaret, she carried a couch-bed converter thing and dragged it over to their apartment, followed by a regular couch, and a full-on bed, one by one, each along with blankets. Cluttered in the house now, she dragged the bed to her room, and covered it with the sheet. She closed the windows and lied down, beginning to whostle the tune of Philistine. "Don't ask how I did that, Anthea." Margaret said, continuing to whistle after. After a peaceful sleep, I woke up and covered myself from the sun like Dracula or Alucard, or any vampire really. Moist vampires died in sunlight, right?....Whatever. After a few minutes I stood up and walked out the back-door to the backyared, grabbing all my clothes from the clothes-line. They dried for a bit longer than they need actally, but they were fine. I wore the clothes I first came to the mansion with: white pants, a white collared shirt under a grey overshirt, my normal white collar, and my white/blue gloves. He walked back out to the foyer after changing, and sat down on a recliner, glancing sligtly at the empty fireplace. "I wonder if I should make something to eat today."

  • Author

Anthea was astonished by Margaret. She just stole stuff from that person no problem. She layed down in her 'room'. She hasn't had a room in a long time. Gripping onto her rabbit and covering herself in a warm woollen blanket, Anthea layed there as Margaret whistled.

"Margaret is Greek you geek, it means a pearl. I'm a pure girl...boys cannot crack this oyster shell so go on, whip around that sword like you're the best, it's such a bore. Another hero...oh please." Anthea sung quietly.

She did know every word to that song.

'Come on Aisling...get up...' Aisling thought to herself, turning over.

She sat up and untangled herself from the covers, getting up she dressed in unusual attire. A white dress that was her regular short size, It had golden ribbons tied in small bows on the side and on her back, almost like a corcet, but it wasn't that. Aisling tied her hair back in a loose ponytail with a white bow.

She wondered off to find Joshua in front of the fireplace.

"Sorry about last night." she spitted out.

(I finally added the appearance)

Margaret turned over to her side and tried to sleep now, mentally singing the song as she fell silently asleep, slicing and dicing people to shreds in her head. (I haven't shot anyone's sternum in forever....) Margaret thought as the song played. (Reaper, Reaper, that's what people call me, why? 'Cause they all die...when I sing I end their lives, you act as though payback makes you a noble man, is that a fact? Well you're a goddamn philistine!)

I tried to keep myself awake as my eyelids closed every few seconds. I then heard Aisling come down. "Aisling, don't apologize-- you didn't do anything wrong...." I mumbled while rubbing my eyes. I turned around to see Aisling, my eyes opening a bit more at what she wore. "Aisling...! I never see you wear things like this." I said quietly with a faint smile. "You look great." I continued, my face turning a bit red.

  • Author

Aisling blushed a bit, giving a slight nod.

"Thank you Joshua. You look like yourself today." She said, embarrassed a bit.

Aisling sighed, smiling a bit. She grabbed Joshua's hand and lead him into her kitchen area.

"Does fruit sound good this morning? Maybe some strawberries and something to drink. I'll fix us breakfast this time, okay?" She smiled.

I smiled back simply and followed over where Aisling took me. "Y-yes, thank-you, Aisling." I responded, a bit surprised since only embarassment came from last time she said she'd make breakfast. At least this time, she knew what we were going to eat.

Aisling couldn't cook, but she had to tell Joshua the truth. This was embarrassing, a fourteen year old who can't cook, and someone three years younger then her who can.

"...N--no..." she stuttered, looking at the ground.

"I hate to push you...I mean you were injured pretty badly yesterday...sorry..." Aisling said, a bit upset and embarrassed.

"Sorry..." she apologized.Unlike last time. I sat down on the recliner of the living room near the kitchen and simply waited as the blushing on my face faded away barely up to this point. Sitting back with little to do, a familiar song struck my head. (Reaper, Reaper, that's what people call me~) Philistine, Margaret's song. No matter how ominous it was to hear the song, it was sooo catchy.

"You are welcome Joshua...do you have anything you would like to drink?" Aisling asked, grabbing the small bag of strawberries, two apples, and an orange.

She grabbed some of the sugar from the top self which there was plenty of sugar up there. Aisling loved her sweets. She grabbed two expensive bowls and layed them down. She carefully washed the fruits and layed the wet strawberries on a cloth. After this, she began peeling the apples with a knife really, really carefully. After that was done (it took a while), she placed the cut slices in the bowl on the bottom. Aisling peeled the orange, and placed the juicy pieces onto of the apple slices. Finally she carefully added the strawberries to the mix with a coating of sugar.

"This should be good. Here you go Joshua." Aisling called, sitting his plate down beside her and she sat down, taking a small bite out of one sugar-coated strawberry.

What was her problem with anything that sounded sweet...anything that sounded even good to hear then Aisling would want it. She doesn't seem to gain weight either.

"Margaret!!!!!!! It is morning you lazy @$$!!!!!" Anthea yelled, running around Margarets room.

Anthea had already thrown her stuffed rabbit at Margaret.

Margaret's cold eyes burst open. "Anthea...." She said quietly. "...Who's head do you want blown off? Your's or the rabbit's?" Margaret asked coldly with her fingers already wrapped over the rabbit's neck tightly. "Call me that one more time, Anthea." She stated."Huh?....Oh, uh, orange juice is fine." I responded quietly to Aisling, just loud enough so that she could hear-- I tended to do that quite often. When Aisling was done and had served the bowls, I sat down calmly and took an apple slice. "Thank-you, Aisling. They look good." I said truthfully, although it seemed a bit harder to get Joshua to look overjoyed, even if he really is that happy, he's never that enthusiastic. Joshua continued eating the apple slices and sugary strawberries sweetly. "So Aisling, where'd you send that letter to? Like, where do your grandparents live?" Joshua asked Aisling.

  • Author

"Kon to Kuro's! Aisling Tornin's!" Anthea yelled.

"Don't you dare blow Usagi's head off...." She snapped, staring at Margaret.

"Okay Joshua. You're welcome." Aisling said, standing up and getting a glass cup, finding the orange juice.

"My grandparents live in Poland. I don't know how we would get there. We'd probably have to travel by train." She said.

Aisling sat the glass down near Joshua, sitting down herself doing so.

"Hopefully nothing that bad will happen..." she sighed.

"You named the stuffed rabbit 'Usagi', Anthea?" Margaret asked. (I can't believe she's my biblioprincess of all people.) Margaret thought."Thank-you, Aisling." I said again, taking the glass of juice and a small sip of it. "I'm sure nothing bad will happen to us..." I reassured Aisling. "Oh, uh...Aisling...if there are Phantom Books around here that we're supposed to take care of, does that mean there are other Phantom Books everywhere? Like, in other countries?" I asked curiously, considering I knew little of Phantom Books, The Shadows' Case, and the Bibliotheca.(Sorry short and meaningless post, I couldn't think of anything....)

  • Author

"That is what the other Biblioprincesses are supposed to be doing. But it seems one has strayed away from their work. We are slacking off a bit too." Aisling explained.

"The concept is simple actually. When darkness piles up, sometimes it takes form of different things. In the past couple of times this has happened, this darkness has took the form of books. Those whom read the books are possessed. They develop darkness. This darkness takes over the being, causing them to be so called 'demons'. However, their names have been rather...changed...to Phantoms. The Books contained the darkness and they possessed the people. Thus, people started calling them Phantom Books. Not so long ago, there were two other people like us. The Bibliotheca Mystica de Dantalian and her keykeeper. Those where the ones before me and you. We are the ones who have to stop this darkness is the bibliotheca and the one who has the power to open the archives. The bibliotheca is a power passed down through generations. It is a library hidden within one. My Bibliotheca is Bibliotheca Angelus Tenenris. You are my Keykeeper Joshua. You chose me Joshua, you were the one who accepted the key. Tell me...where did you get that key? Someone important must have left it for you." Aisling explained just as she finished eating.

She put her plate up and sat down by Joshua again, staring at him.

"Yes. Yes I did Margaret." Anthea laughed.

(Really? That was actually good thing to post. It cleared up some things)

(Wow, it did o.o Coolio)I glanced down at the mark on my hand for a split second, then looked back up to Aisling. "Oh, uh, the key? I kind of found it in...the rubble of my old house. I don't know where they kept it before then, but there were a few places I never really looked into in that house." I told Aisling while grabbing my key. It actually matched Aisling a bit more now, but still not necessairly her keyhole. As before, it aligned well and matched physically, just not in color or parts of design. As significant that made me feel, I did have a strong feeling of pressure, especially with everyone after us."You're thirteen, Anthea. Grow out of it." Margaret said coldly.

  • Author

(Told ya~ It just makes this more interesting.)

"Well...we will have to look into that. Eventually, this will make sense to you." Aisling said with a slight smile.

She then grabbed Joshua's hand and studied the mark for a minute.

"It looks nothing like my keyhole. Very distinct." she sighed, standing up and lettering go of his hand.

"So, what shall we do today Joshua?" she asked with a laugh.

"Margaret...you are OLD so you don't remember what it is like to be a child thus, you cannot yell at me. What shall we do to Kon and little boy today? Shall we unlock the bibliotheca on them?" Anthea asked with a smirk, crossing her arms.

I sighed softly, I never liked being confused or clueless. "I guess so...." I mumbled, soon looking over to the keyhole on Aisling's side. "Well...what do you think it means?" I asked Aisling, a bit worried-- whether or not if it DID mean anything. "Anyway, I really don't know. Maybe we can do stuff we haven't done in awhile or not at all. We can go get some more buns, take you to the perfumer, try out instruments at the concert hall, or something." I suggested, looking out to the newly fixed window again."Shut up, I'm not old. If you see any white f*cking hairs, its your fault." Margaret snapped. "I don't know, we don't even know where they're going. In fact, we should be out finding Phantom Books and destroying them too, Anthea. We're slacking off."

  • Author

"But--but...Margaret! I don't like destroying Phantom Books! It is boring and they are as hard as crap to find!" Anthea complained, snatching Usagi out of Margaret's hand.

"Um...Josh...I really don't want to go to th perfumer anymore...the buns sound nice." Aisling said, grabbing her small bag, she pulled out two candies.

She sat one beside Joshua and popped the other in her mouth.

"When you are ready, we will go." she said with a smile.

"You're a Biblioprincess, why don't you just shut up and read for one day?!" Margaret snapped again. "Come on, before the landlord knows I took the furniture and fines us." Margaret said and took the keys to the motorcycle, walking out the door. "We need to destroy the Phantom Books, Anthea.""Oh...uh...okay, I guess. But I'm gonna have to pay this time." I said, walking over to the nearby table and taking my kunais. "Just in case." I said, walking back up to Aisling. "I'm ready." I said, enthusiastically eating the candy. Candy was probably one of few, if not the ONE thing, I could always be childish over.

  • Author

"Okay...if you insist." Aisling said.

She always kept her daggers with her, no matter what. Aisling grabbed Joshua's hand, leading him out the large door, into the path of dead plants and through the black gate that hid the place.

"I am thinking about reviving that garden, do you think I should do so?" she asked, she then stopped in her tracks.

"Oh...Joshua..." she stared, sounding rather upset, "The bakery was destroyed....remember?".

"Why Margaret? Because we have no books." Anthea snapped, fallowing Margaret.

"Why do I have to have a library within me...?" she sighed, petty Usagi as they arrived to the motorcycle. Anthea hopped into the side car, bringing Usagi close to her.

I simplistically nodded, and followed Aisling outside, honestly barely noticing the death of everything in the yard. I was bad with these kinds of things; if someone changed their hair color and asked me 'Do you notice anything different?' I would probably stare in thought for about five minutes. "I think so, it'd look nice." Maybe it was because I came from a rich family who had several gardens, but I always thought they looked nice, and even knew the 'Language of Flowers' from a book. Coriander and olive flowers probably suited me the best, pink roses and white heathers fit Aisling, while arum and rosemary flowers kind of reflected us both. "Oh...oh...yeah...I always forget these things...." I sighed, "Well, where do we go now?" I asked Aisling."You have thousands of books in your damn body or something, Anthea." Margaret replied, starting the ignition and beginning to drive.

  • Author

"Joshua...you're a little dazed today. Are you okay?" Aisling noticed, randomly walking down the street again.

"Umm....I guess we could go to that hall place you were talking about..." She wondered aloud, keeping her eyes on the road.

She heard a frimilar sound, she turned her head to the road, stopping herself from walking and Joshua.

Aisling sighed as she saw the really annoying blonde haired girl with the rabbit in her hand in a sidecar with the gothic grim Margaret driving.

"It looks like we have trouble Joshua..." She sighed.

"Look Margaret! It's Kon to Kuro and she actually notices us!" Anthea said happily.

"Huh? Oh...sorry. I'm just a little...thoughtful today, that's all." I muttered in reply to Aisling, walking through the street alongside Aisling. "We could go there and watch a performance, or practice an instrument or two. I actually played the violin a little bit before. It got burned down and I haven't played one since though. I probably won't know a thing about it now." I said bluntly. Looking towards the Concert Hall, I noticed Aisling stop me from walking, and I looked back ahead to see Margaret and Anthea. (I didn't bring the Panacea this time....) I thought to myself worryingly, keeping my fingers wrapped around a kunai in one hand, and gripping onto Aisling's hand in the other.

"We might be attracting even more attention than last time if we kill them here. I'm not too sure...." Margaret said to Anthea as she parked the motorcycle at the side of the street [which is perfectly acceptable in some parts of Europe].
